They mentioned the "Flame Clocks" on their eyes back in the first trailer, and their eyes light up when they activate a chain attack. Maybe the Flame Clocks are connected to the 10 year limit. The Keves guys have their right eye light up while the Agnus guys have their left eye light up.

My theory? Everyone is a blade or a hybrid with a blade. Real humans are long dead. This explains being able to summon weapons "innate" to themselves. This explains "older" people living in a time when everyone has a 10 year time limit. People may think they are human, but they actually aren't. Some Xenoblade X Mimeosome style shit.

This also explains how it is possible for the Ouroboros to fuse. If they are all actually Blades/Hybrid Blades, then them dissolving into ether and fusing makes way more sense.

My sense is that Ethel has a military outfit that keeps her tits smushed where Pyra and even Mythra's outfits give more leeway

True, but my guess is that, given we know Noah is a child soldier, he was given his Blade and 10-year cap at 9-10 years old.
While accelerated aging could be a thing, it would make the specificity of their ages a bit odd. The fact that Eunie and Lanz, two members of two infamously long lived races, are "childhood" friends with Noah is odd in its own right.
It could be that they are those types of long-lived races that mature normally until they reach teenage years and then it slows down.

The game is obviously inspired by the Spanish civil war. Which ended with both sides reconciling and even burying their dead together in rememberance that they were killing brothers.
