Would it have been considered a masterpiece if this was released with the current 1.52 patch?

No.

It still wouldn't save the Arasaka ending from depressing me

it wouldn't have even been considered good, let alone a masterpiece.

>would it have been considered a masterpiece
It was a masterpiece on launch and is just having the modern equivalent of if VTMB launched today. That game was actually more broken on release. It will be remembered as a cult classic and masterpiece in storytelling.

I had no problems with PC release build.

not even an innocent t-pose? what's your specs?

Combat still looks as stilted and unfun as Bethesda had made it.

I had Ryzen 3600 and Vega 56 at the time and I used the DF "optimized settings" to get around 40-60 FPS if I remember correctly. Sure there were some minor bugs, but I didn't encounter anything game breaking.

Bugs and other technical issues saved this game from the utter mess that was the marketing. The game has basically 0 content besides missions, many of which are repetitive. That's unacceptable for a post-2015 RPG. They know it too, that's why they rebranded it as an action game. If people weren't busy posting T-poses and surface-to-air cars CDPR would be crucified for releasing a skeleton of a game marketed as the next best thing.

No. The 'RPG' mechanics are always going to be paper thin. The balance of weapon types and their power relative to each other will always be a mess. The roleplaying aspect of the quests is always going to be chasing map markers while a radio voice unloads 'story' on you. If anything the highly publicized bugs made people ignore all the real shortfalls.

DDLS quality and Ray tracing Ultra?

>No freedom in playstyle
>Freeroam is just an empty mess of mindless driving around with empty npcs
>The only mission that has any pathing choises is the only thing they showes in every gameplay reveal

This game would have been a joke no matter when they released it

Attached: FQ-PNALXsAErCk1.jpg (660x660, 90.74K)

Panam still isn't romanceable by a Fem-V, so no.

This. Also, obligate first person destroys the purpose of character customization, the crafting/gearing system is weak, and combat is mediocre. On higher difficulties you get bloated enemies with one shot capabilities that you typically beat by mag dumping them as they stand still jerking off outside of cover. In the rare instance they do manage to graze your elbow or something, you'll die instantly. What an engaging dichotomy.

Why? Fixing some superficial meme bugs doesn't change anything. All the origin stories are the same, the game is generic with boring side quests and almost no real side content, the map is empty with copy and pasted buildings you can't enter.
The AI is braindead and the pedestrians don't even have AI, for some reason they can't ride bikes, what's up with that? Shit appears and disappears when you turn the camera, there's not a trace of soul in this entire empty generic copy and pasted garbage game. Even the visuals aren't that great, character models look like they're from 2012, the animations are shockingly bad.
The gunplay is generic and average at best, there's no weapon variety, the loot system is garbage. I can keep going, this game is a complete disappointment in every possible way. It's not even 5/10, it's actual garbage.

No shut the fuck up dork

>would it have been

no you fucking crypto-fascist

shiny graphics do not disguise its ugly, monotonous core. disregarding the hollow facade of its ‘city’ and mediocre main story? the gameplay is incredibly lacking

I would still be able to stand several miles outside areas of combat and disable and kill every single enemy combatant within the quest zone

utterly braindead, an absolutely pathetic effort from a so called AAA developer, one might consider it cynical even

same, 2070 i58600k
only one quest had an invisible scripted car that was supposed to ram you at an intersection and daylight switched in the middle of it but no game breaking bugs for me

>would it have been considered a masterpiece if this was released with the current 1.52 patch?
No, because people already had completely wrong expectations from the game, and a small army of them was already completely, 100% invested in hating it even before it released. It would certainly be less of a shitshow, but it would still be a shitshow. The problem was equally in poor communication from the studio, and general stupidity of the public, and that would have affected the game's impression anyway.

There just would be a little less memes about glitches and shit. People would still be frothing at the mouth that it's not the GTA meets Fallout New Vegas they've somehow expected.

Closest thing to surviving i guess.
Does launching your mind into the internet count as V surviving? (His mind, not the body with johnny in it)

With bugs it was shit
Without them its bland, sterile, empty and an overall wasted effort

It was better when people focused only in the bugs since the real offender is the quest design

Depends on what you mean by survive.
It would just be another instance of V floating around, but not the V you played.

Attached: soyber punk gaymer stuff.jpg (876x862, 60.92K)

In the solo ending you end doing a gig for evil AI Illusive Man trying to find a cure so V could potentially end in a fully synth body. Very Bioware like

no
besides the shitty gunplay, the "rpg" "elements" and the boring side quests, the biggest issue imho is the dogshit open world. It could have been a pretty good game if it had hub + zones instead of this vast, good-looking but devoided of anything of interest open world

It still wouldn't have what they originally talked about, so no.

It still isn't a roleplaying game and Johnny is still the most insufferable prick in video games so not really. The lack of bugs to distract you highlights more how railroaded everything is. Just an incredibly nihilistic game both in the endings being all bad(sell your soul, let Johnny just do his bullshit again, get a new family only to die in 6 months while OG V is dead anyway) to playing it with the knowledge of how much of the world is empty, 60% of the content is policework, and you're playing something the people who made it clearly enjoyed but could never finish. Very depressing.

Attached: 1484080032803.jpg (526x590, 76.13K)

The story and writing were shit. It was barely an RPG.

Its already a masterpiece.

Feels like CDPR made a game just for me.

Attached: PSX_20220418_230521.jpg (1500x844, 970K)

They're all kind of depressing. Just like my life, so I liked it.

Feels like everyone who praises this game just uses it as a photo mode/wallpaper engine or thinks Johnny is cool(objectively incorrect)

Nah, people created a version of the game in their head that would never exist. Sometimes hype can be more of a curse than a blessing for developers.

CP77 wasn’t a satire, it was an autobiography.

People didn't just come up with the idea of a connected open world RPG with branching stories they were marketed it only to receive an empty open world and a mediocre linear shooter.

based Kanaposter

You must have missed the Yea Forums hype threads. The writing was on the wall for a long time.

>Judy still lesbo only
This game can T-Pose straight into the garbage.

I still haven't got to play it.
Every time there's an update, one of those threads pop up and I ask if they fixed most of the bugs and is worth playing yet.
It's always the same stuff "check back in a few months".

You can't patch the story or their enormously lazy design choices like no 3rd person mode.

Still wouldn't have a single good quest.

Not really, it can be fun to sperg around with a shitty but actual story and gameplay are a foot deep in a mile wide plain

Attached: 1650686818141.png (686x960, 923.95K)

People expected a bunch of different things, some of which were never on the table. But CDProj did market this as RPG with a multi-branch plot.

Only hope is that the expansion they're planning for 2023 isn't just a new DLC campaign but actually finishes what's in the game.

same i legit think its just some people's PC's are unbelievably fucked like theres a ghost possessing them or something idk because theres people with better specs then people like me and you experiencing armageddon worth of bugs

chigga

No people like it because its the best sci-fi adventure of the generation so far.

Haters literally can't come up with any reason to diss the game except bullshit Shazam posting. Guess what? The game is a massive commercial and critical success.

it's still buggy tho

Attached: 2022-04-21_2253_1.png (1920x1080, 2.62M)

Where is the Shazam ITT?

>it's still buggy tho

This is pure fucking cope. It isn't any more or less buggy than any other massive AAA of this scale. You're seething about the most nonsense trival shit now.

i will not play your game

Same honestly. An animation looking a bit weird during the car crash scene after the Mexican guy dies is the only bug i can remember.
Ryzen 5 3600
Rx 5700

Except if you've read books or watched movies you've already seen the plot of the game.
Johnny Mnemonic meets Fight Club.

yea I'm the one coping. Listen fucker, I've seen the game forgetting to play radio music after playing a news audio track, forgetting to play environment sounds and everything else other than the music during the first van chase, random gun floating out of some npc pocket, low LOD npcs right in front of me, npcs clipping through cars and shit I've forgotten, and that's all in less than 1 hour playtime. Meanwhile I might go through an actual tripple gay game without ever seeing it glitch out.

user, Cyberpunk doesn't have a multiple choice ending. The choice is seeing if you understand the symbolism and the themes of the story. If you choose right, you get a happy ending, or as happy as one can expect in that world. Going to take on Arasaka for Johnny's sake isn't healthy for him or you, and you end up becoming a "Night City Legend," but that means nothing. They say in the intro to the game that you'll find all of Night City's legends in the graveyard. Best you can hope for is a drink named after you. The Arasaka ending is even dumber because you're trusting a corp. They might help you out a bit, but Cyberpunk's lore is based off of Mythology, and gods tend to fuck people over. Sometimes literally. The Aldecaldos ending has you saying fuck Night City, a place of false dreams and broken hopes, and riding off with the only thing that matters in this world. Your friends and new family.
>Corporations = gods.
>The Internet / Beyond the wall = Afterlife.
>Solos = Heroes.
Cyberpunk's story is about a person in the cursed city, stealing a relic from the gods to give them immortality. In the end, like all relics, it has a catch. It's dragging them to the afterlife, so they need to find a way to save themselves.
Keep in mind, the Aldecaldos ending doesn't guarantee V lives, but everything in this game has been symbolic. I have no doubt they'd make it if they left.

so is this game any good now or what?
should I buy it?

Attached: 1650688643367.jpg (501x443, 20.89K)

How the fuck is somebody in Nomadland gonna reverse Johnny's genes out of V's brain

Not gonna lie that ending was kinda emotional

It's playable, or not in old gens? I don't have ps5 yet and not gonna buy for one game

V is killed by Dex

It wouldn't have been crushingly bad but it would still be mediocre.

If it wasn't good when it launched, it's not good now because they haven't added anything to the game except a few cosmetic costumes. The only thing they've done since it launched is patched some minor visual and quest-progress glitches.

it's a mediocre looter shooter with interesting choices in how to approach combat encounters, when you're taking down this game's equivalent to the far cry 3 bandit camps is where it's at its best
a lot of people compare it to borderlands and honestly swapping out shit constantly for +1.4 armor here or +3.5DPS there I can see why
as it stands there's no fucking way I'd pay actual money for this, but pirating it is ez pz

bugs mostly gone and game is playable
story and content still lacking
probably worth the $30 on steam right now

Yes.
/thread

user, it's symbolic.
>Unfortunately, the chip is still eating away at your brain. You have about 6 months to live.
By leaving the city of the gods, you are taking back your own mind. You're no longer chasing false dreams that will get you killed, but instead you're with people that care for you. V lets go of the life that was killing her, symbolized by her getting rid of the necklace that carried the bullet that wedged itself into your head.
In the end, V might die. But they were supposed to die when the job went wrong. At least V and Johnny both got their second chances at life. Now Johnny is in the net afterlife with his girlfriend, and V is with the people she cares about.

not a masterpiece, but still very good.
would have been nicer if they
>ditched the almost movie like keanu reeves plot
>had a more meaningful character build system
>focused more on the role playing rather than the 'V playing'
i still like what we got panam's ass made it all worth it

Getting hyped up to lose your entire personality is always humiliating

>so is this game any good now or what?
Here is a pro-tip:

DON'T FUCKING ASK THAT HERE.
This game is functionally impossible to actually discuss here. It's waaaay too entranched in identity wars, epic meme posting, circlejerking, insecurities and general retardation.

Find a different outlet to consult. What you will hear here is going to be 99% of utter and complete bullshit, and you'll just have no way to sift through it.
Cyberpunk has broken this board, and unfortunately, it's a wound that isn't healing very fast.

You're just retarded and don't know how to spot obvious bait threads.

it's still unrealized potential the videogame.
Promising combat, but lethally dumb enemies
Good artdirection and leveldesign with relatively fresh verticality, but absolutely hollow world and dead NPCs.
Strong setting and cinematic storytelling, but underperforming writing and obviously cut content
Openworld modern city is very difficult beast to tackle and they didn't manage it well enough. Fucking two blocks of Kamurocho were more alive than anything CDPR came up with. When you play it, you physically feel all the "under construction" tape and //TODO comments.

Attached: dojima.jpg (474x237, 11.29K)

This thread is 90% rational discussion though?
You're the other 10% by the way.

>alt implies that the process of untangling johnny from v will create a new consciousness that isn't really v
>assume the only way to salvage what's left of v's original consciousness is having the chip removed by arasaka
>this entire concept of whether v is really v is never brought up again and doesn't actually matter or play into the story in any way
>the actual endings are just a sliding scale with the best one being the secret ending as a happy ending where everyone survives and the arasaka ending shitting on you nonstop, constantly reminding you that you got the bad ending, then killing v anyway

No. It's still a bad story with so much cut content.
They clearly removed a lot of things after Keanu Reeves came on board and change the game to be about him a lot more.
