Would you say they managed to fix it?
Would you say they managed to fix it?
You're the only one playing it on this board so you tell us.
Sure, they technically fixed it cause they brought it closer to their vision
That vision is "generic crafting with shitty RNG planets" though so it couldn't ever have been good anyway
From what I've heard - it's basically 3D Starbound. Yes, they did implement that feature they promised sice kickstarter or whatevet, but they forgot to put a fun videogame into this thing during all this checklist implementation shit.
kind of? the content they add is decent but not great. a ton of polish was done to the game for sure. once you get a lot of money and further into the game it loses meaning. exploration isnt even that good. stuff only looks good from distance.
for me the best part was unironically the spaceship lottery and trying to find the best ship.
Combat is absolute dogshit. Hasnt been fixed at all.
They've added a lot of content, but the fauna still looks and acts retarded.
The star in the system is not a real thing, it's just a skybox light.
The planets do not have orbits.
3/4 of all generated ships look like ass.
The salvaged a shitshow by adding side content, but I'm still not going to praise it because the core of the game is still underdeveloped.
Kinda, but i lost all love for this game at about 100 h. The moment they added cooking I knew this game won't be my "dream come true" game I was hoping for. All updates don't even focus on generation that much. New additions and plants are mostly the same on all planets, and it feels like it just turned into typical MMO.
this
Yea Forums started shilling this piece of shit game long time ago saying that its totally fixed and has super cool content and is worthy playing so i decided to download it with my Gamepass™ and its broken as fuck
i have high end PC and i had to set everything to low setting and still had huge fps drops and stuttering worse than Elden Ring on release, what a fucking joke
played it for like 3 hours and deleted because it was boring
no, they didnt fix it and i doubt it can ever be a good game
I'm happy they are attempting to fix it but at the same time the fact that 90% of the internet now doing a 180 sucking their dicks thanks to the Internet historian video and acting as if the game is now perfect despite it fulfilling less than 40% of what they initially promised, and their bullshit is all absolved sometimes pisses me off.
If you like exploration and minecraft yes, in the end it is just minecraft with nice graphics.
I've talked to people, some get it, you just build a nice base take screenshots, and then go to sleep irl watching your monitor and a nice view, maybe get a peer and be gay aliens, have futanari segs, make up your own girth. It's up to you, get a friend, get into a vehicle and build an underground base together, a submerged one, one in the sky, add a bed and cuddle.
Wtf??? user I can play at like 30fps on a ryzen 3 apu, fist gen, I play it on geforge now, and it's ok, is not that bad.
Nah they added a bad story and bad survival crafting shit but the core parts of ya know space, space flight, pokemon snap in space, etc are still extremely under developed. They add a bunch of side content like getting mounts but they space shit is barely above the space combat missions in the original Ratchet and Clank and the minute to minute gameplay is completely braindead.
will this game give me deep rock galactic levels of addiction?
Yeah I really like it now finally got a living ship to bad its kind of pointless my metal ship is better in every way. Its fun.
I have fun with it. Not too many people on here play it though.
Werks fine on my mashine at ultra.
Steam copy tho.
You can upgrade your ships to be near perfect. Living ships are pretty good too. More tech inventory than any metal ship.
Yes and No.
Features they promised are finally in.
It's so much RNG on top of RNG that every new system you enter, even if it's first contact, no human has ever been here before is somehow still sort of boring. The planets, the local ships, the items for sale all random.
You'll get bored of looking around and eventually just look up where shit is on the internet. Someone else discovered a ship with all the cool parts you wanted so you just go and get it because everything you find is random dogshit.
If you do get it though, summon your freighter somewhere up above you while on foot planetside, it looks so cool.
it is not relevant wether or not they fixed it, it was funded with a surprise kickstarter - a fake release. It is a con-mans project and you shouldn't support this is a way of making a game. If i go buy a T-shirt and they send me 1 sleeve, to be followed up by the rest 4 years later - it was still a fucking scam.
anyone who disagrees is a fucking retard or a shill. fuck you pieces of shit for even posting that pic here - OP you are a piece of shit.
So, where's the Yea Forums home planet?
Also gimme ur portal coords.
Only if you like to mining instead of flying your ship.
Rock and Stone, brother
NO
they added a bunch of shit, but everything else is still bland
mining is awful
flying is awful
combat is awful
performance is awful
UI is awful (at least dialogue UI)
they should stop adding content updates and instead overhaul current mechanics
that would be cool
Flying is better now and combat is fun as of last update. Sentinels are actually dangerous now.
The epitome of empty open world with copy pasted assets. It also has an insultingly bad gameplay and flying controls and it is as deep as a puddle. Never trust reddit Niggers.
god, YOU sound awful
The kinda white person I’d intentionally cross to the opposite pavement to avoid
There's no way combat is fixed, post example
>last update
actually I haven't tried it, I thought it was just more content, like quests or something
what did they change?
I was going to actually discuss with you, until I saw you're just a retarded shitposter
You can have sex with aliens? Someone should have told me during the last time it was on sale.
They reworked how sentinels fight somewhat and they added different kinds of sentinels that show up to a fight. There's also sentinel pillars now that you can assault to shut down the sentinels on a planet for a bit. I think guns are reworked too and they added a new best weapon to the game. Also launchers got overhauled and there are now several types.
Combat is better than it was in my opinion. Sentinels are actually a threat and I've been killed by them even with my endgame shield and health. Really what they need is to revamp planet content and add multiple themes of dungeon. Make planets actually worth exploring.
well that's good to hear
an update with content and rework
>Make planets actually worth exploring.
this would be really good
hope they find a way to work into this
No and I'm sick of all the people who never played this game talking about how much it's changed this that and the other. The internet and all it's found "wholesomeness" is fucking embarrassing. Good on hello games for not running with the money, how about you actually add something to do in your game instead of clutter everywhere
It wasn't salvaged. The game has not changed fundamentaly. The fact that so many people simp this game despite never having played it is embarrassing. Check out the comments on the new update, no wonder the games industry is where it is
Ship control is dogshit and unfun, it's like a floaty kids mode instead of being a thrilling ride.
Fighting feels inconsequential, since you repeat the same sentinels everywhere.
The story is a mess where you end up with recurring missions at the end anyway (triggers my OCD to complete this shit) and a lot of it is really only there to waste your time.
Once you've seen planet types for the few different interesting star systems you can drop the game because it's all mild variations of that. Still offers a few good hours I guess, just not a grandiose game.
Game is hideous and runs bad for how it looks, but it isn't unplayable.
With all the work Sean and the HG team are pouring into the game I have little doubt that we won't get something. Myself I'd like to see a revamp to archeology. Its good money, but you raid the same ruin every time. I want to be space Indiana Jones raiding lost temples or downed freighters.
Werks on mah muhsheen
I play the game at ultra with fucking mods because hello games can't be fucked to fix the LOD. It's hideous and should be at 144fps at all times. I get well over 60fps @ 1080p but it looks like shit no matter what.
Seethe graphicsfag
It still feels like an early access game. There are big parts of it that are just unfinished, like the tyranid species that were obviously supposed to be part of some kind of infestation/extermination mechanic that never got implemented, instead they're just a boring little minigame where you steal their eggs. Or the fairly extensive variety of weapons which you can only use on critters and 4 types of endlessly respawning robot drones.
It has the heart and soul of an incredible game and that shines through sometimes with the mysterious storylines and the random encounters in space. But 95% of it is still just repetitive junk gameplay with inadequately implemented mechanics. I can't play it because I just find myself feeling constantly disappointed and dissatisfied.
I expect some level of competence.
>Shit gameplay
>Shit graphics
>Shit performance
The game has all the tools it needs. Except for competent developers/designers.
The game needs an infestation mechanic where you purge all the planets in a system of tyranids and destroy their hives. Once you've destroyed all the hives it should give you a waypoint to the overmind in space, where you dogfight through spacebound tyranids and eventually destroy the big brain. The big brain would give you an item which would allow you to slot into one of your abilities to make it do something weird, like a jetpack boost that shoots you into the sky.
That's an endgame mechanic people would actually enjoy
It still sucks
Why would I want to do that? The horrors are my main source of nanites. They could use more content, sure, but I don't want them gone and an infestation mechanic sounds like it would ruin my nice planets.
The core gameplay is still really lame, both mechanically where the flying, running, and shooting all feel terrible, and the game itself still isn't the epic spacefaring pokemon snap it presented itself as, instead it's just a janky procedural generated survival crafting game with a half assed tacked on millennial story and an endless amount of collectathon bullshit.
I don't understand why so many people cream their pants over this game. Every update is just a new mount or a spaceship with different colored wings, new cosmetics, or a station you'll visit once with a slightly different layout than all the other stations you'll visit once.
>and an infestation mechanic sounds like it would ruin my nice planets.
That's exactly why the game is so boring, because they listen too much to busy little worker bees like you who want everything to be safe and predictable so you can stockpile items forever. There needs to be a threat to the player's comfort or a game is fucking tedious. Threat is fun. Even minecraft has creepers that can fuck up your structures if you don't control them. It would be fucking awesome to settle on a beautiful garden world, build a base, and later see a swarm of tyranids block out the sun, and have to fight to save it from them.
Rock and stone but no it probably won't. The only people I know who got really into this game were mmo fans.
I've been having more texture issues than ever after a recent update it seems, local inventory storage still isn't a thing, and quests are still finicky.
I still play and enjoy it though since some of the progression aspects and resource gathering appeals to my autism.
I kinda want a drg but with mmo and space exploration and shit.
i was wondering if this is it
There is a threat. Its the sentinels. And yes, I don't want to fight tooth and nail for my 100 hour base. Why would I be the one fighting them anyway when it would make more sense for the sentinels to keep them in check lore wise anyway?
If you want to shoot bugs, I highly recommend playing deep rock galactic. Keep your shit ideas out of my comfy relaxing game.
I bet you don't even play in survival mode faggot
>comfy relaxing game.
Your boring safe repetitive game where nothing new ever happens and you're never challenged. The only reason you think that's fun is because you're an autist who gets pleasure from stockpiling imaginary items. The sentinels aren't a threat, they're a placeholder for a combat system that never got properly implemented. Your idea of fun is autistic.
Nah not really. Check back in a couple of years and maybe they will have gotten round to actually giving the game a point
It doesn't need a threat. Its space fucking minecraft. That's why I play it. I find neat planets, build a cool looking base, do some exploring to get money, buy prerequisite materials for the next base, and start again. I don't need or want NMS to be some adrenaline fueled action experience. I want scifi minecraft and that's what I got.
spbp
Not him, but I'd like some incentive to build a neat base if there's some potential threat I may have to protect it from. Outside of creative expression (which I lack), building structures just because I can isn't all that interesting, especially when duplicate storage containers are mostly useless.
I love nms, but I think he's got a point. At least in minecraft it's unsafe at night and the danger comes after you, in nms you have to go out of your way to find danger and it's piss easy
>Its space fucking minecraft.
Except minecraft has threats. Quite a lot actually. So what you want is space minecraft but with no creepers or skeletons or zombies. A boring pile of repetitive autism in other words. Jesus it sounds like you're having a panic attack just thinking about this, I can't imagine being this much of a pussy as to be scared that your precious imaginary game stockpile might be threatened.
I keep hoping they do a complete do over of fauna behavior and food chains and they never do.
>there is a threat
>it doesn't need a threat
You realize NMS is probably capable of supporting both types of playstyles right? There's already normal mode and easy mode. Just update it to normal mode, where the game has normal things like enemies and fun, and pussy mode for people like you who are scared of challenge and only interested in farming and building.
This. It’s still just an exploration sim that gets boring after the first few planets. The only cool concept is colonizing a solar system for yourself but even that sucks since every world is just empty and boring
>minecraft
>having threats
Funny joke. You say that as if the AI isn't piss easy to deal with. But why does NMS need threats? I have multiple other games that I have spent hundreds of hours on where I do exactly what you're saying I don't. Shoot endless waves of bugs trying to kill me? I play DRG. A single fuck up is punished severely? I have GTFO. Sure, I'll admit that NMS could use something to spice things up every now and then, but its not NEEDED. I enjoy NMS just fine right now.
>it's not free
fuck no
I don't think they ever plan to, they're making a 2nd game now which will probably just be NMS but with an engine that's less shit and capable of supporting more realistic mechanics
>Survival Mode
>Things can break your stuff, Horrors invade your base, "Threats"
>Normal Mode
>Same as it is now
