I think some of the final parts of SH2 might be better than anything in SH1, but overall I liked SH1 more. SH2 just isn't as good regarding gameplay and that really affects my enjoyment level.

the tone of SH1 is just unmatched. I know a lot of redditors really love how gloomy and melancholic SH2 is, but man, SH1 is pure dread and terror, it's really hard to beat and one of the standouts in the entire genre IMO.

Pyramid Head just abruptly appears for most of the game, there's nothing cinematic about shooting him repeatedly at the top of a set of stairs until he eventually gets bored and waddles off. His introduction is just him staring at you through a set of bars.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
For SH2, Follow the Enhanced Edition homesite's instructions to the T, and you should be fine.
If you're mega lazy, just unpack the "Bare Essentials" to the game's folder, and you're done! The "Enhanced .EXE" is also the no-CD crack.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide or PC Gaming Wiki.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
I recommend the DuckStation, but most emulators work OK as well.

-Start with Normal difficulty! Don't do hard on 1st run (espec. SH2).
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
