you'll buy it regardless

I actually won't. Once my Steam Deck arrives, I'm never paying for NSO again.

>wanting to keep your characters warm
>anti-consumer
Seems pretty considerate of them .

handhelds are for pissbabies

I dunno I think they have their market locked down pretty well. You have to have nintendo hardware to play nintendo software legally. They have no competition since nothing else can carry their product so they do whatever they want to consumers.

I mean, at least they're not EA and still give solid titles from time to time.

Just end it already

their consoles are targeted towards children who don't fucking care

Considering they're the only people actually making games, yes I will

>Playstation/XBox/PC exclusives now filled with naked characters
How is this not a win?

Wasn't there a Skyrim mod that did that years ago?

How can they patent that when other games already did it before them?

>nintendo patents ingame clothing
>all non-nintendo games are now porn games

japs contain 10% the power of God's chosen people. Just be glad they only inherited the greed and not the other aspects.

They don't patent the mechanic but its execution. Other devs can implement any of those mechanics if they want to but they have to find their own method.

this tells me they're going to make the temperature mechanics even more annoying in the breath of the wild sequel

So you gonna sell me that Greninja tongue scarf or what?

Nintendo aren't even a video game company any more, they're just a patent troll farm.

hey uh software patents are fucked up as shit why is this framed like a cutesy quirky thing

>Patent isn't actually for in-game clothing, just the way extra articles of clothing are rendered onto a base character model
Had to Google the article to see if it was real, and of course the game journofaggots make the headline/blurb very misleading and sound like something else entirely.

Its not a Nintendo thing. Capcom sued the shit out of KT for making expansions for their Warriors games and Bamco had a patent for minigames during loading screens for a few years. Shit is fucked.

Patents are the devil's work. Fuck that.

Yes and I'm pretty sure that feature is in multiple games.

Copyright in general is outdated and only ever used for negative things.

Which is still stupid.

Literal NPC husk

Yes. You also need thermal clothing for cold areas in Ark.

>every commercial computer software you use has patents on it
>every bullshit thing you buy at the store has patents on it
>but when nintendo does it it's wrong

Except that description makes it even more cancerous

That doesn't change the absolutely evil nature of it.

you really want to play returnal with the main character naked?

Lmao this is WAY worse than the retarded clickbait makes it sound

They fucking patented storing assets in memory in such a way for deformation calculations to account for layering and prevent clipping.

Have fun making way more >clipping posts in the future kids, can't be violating Nintendos patent now, can we.

If anyone is still a nintendo cuck after all these years, they deserve it

Correct. It's wrong when anyone does it, actually. Patents are a completely bullshit concept.

I remember Nintendo patented some way to make displacement mapping more efficient back in the Wii days. Would be surprised if this somehow steps on the toes of people looking for ways to prevent clipping in games.

>t. will never produce anything of worth

Fuck it I actually hope Nintendo goes bankrupt.
The world wouldn't lose that much desu

Pull the boot out of your throat, it's embarrassing.

>t. pays rent to mom and owns nothing

Why waste resources and effort in making something good if retards will buy it anyway?

I want to be mad at them, but then I remember Unreal Engine exists, and companies have to pay for a license to use it. How can I be mad at Nintendo for patenting this one thing, when Unreal has control over a whole suite of features?

Did another nigger get killed by cops again? Whh is the board seething again?

Can't wait to see the big money they get off lawsuits involving this.

comfy soul.

You are absolutely fucking retarded

>An engine is the same as patenting fucking data storage for basic concepts
This has to be bait

So if they don't read this patent and think of the same solution Nintendo can sue them? Or is this defense only?

Hello Nintendo

based as fuck

I'm sure the unreal engine has its own method of storing data.

They deserve non clipping clothes?

The exact mechanics of the patent are so extremely specific to the Switch itself that you'd have to be doing it on purpose.

So is it like how Naughty Dog patented the "concept" of games without loading screens?

Yeah nintendo and other companies are doing this to discourage future devs from implementing specific mechanics because all the simple methods are already taken

>So if they don't read this patent and think of the same solution Nintendo can sue them? Or is this defense only?
Maybe 50 years ago but now they'd have to pay a fee.

Jewtindo being greedy Jewish again
tendie pedos will defend them anyway

Yup Outward has a really good system to, you can be way to hot or way to cold. Seasons even change over time.

>You'll never have a bunch of autistic friends who will never judge you because they know they are just as bad

>Patents are a completely bullshit concept
You're an idiot who has never accomplished anything in his life. If you ever get around to actually making anything for yourself, you'll understand why a person would want to protect it.

This looks more like a defensive patent than an offensive one, because it's not precise enough to stop the implementation of similar things by other means.
(they shrink the base model a bit)

Ok Goldstein

What is the difference between this and something like customizable clothes in the million games that already exist?
