It's unironically because you learn how to avoid it subconsciously.
Not even because it always happens to you, but because Adventure has this really fucking retarded issue where Sonic will continuously veer to the right if he's running on anything but a completely flat surface.
After enough playing you just get it in your head that if you're running down a slope you should be tilting the stick left in order for Sonic to stay centered.
Why was THIS problem never fixed though? Who fucking knows.

This wasn't even the first generation of 3D games. If Sonic Adventure didn't have the Sonic branding on it, it would be remembered for what it is (shit).

That was going to happen regardless. The 2000s era that was very stupid and moody. After everybody laughed Shadow the Hedgehog out of the door and Sega hired a team of assassins to murder anyone who mentions Sonic 06 internally, they had to pivot in a different direction. Because no one overcorrects like Sega. So we get meta Sonic with Sega themselves winking at us to remind everyone that the shit you're playing is fucking stupid. It was sort of there during the Fairy Tales era but exploded after Sonic Colors

NTA, but having played the DC version several dozen times throughout my childhood into early teens, I can guarantee it is finicky there especially on every ramp and loopdaloop if you let go of the joystick in the midst of running.
