Elden Ring lore

Refrain from schizo plots:
_ Ranni did nuffin wrong
_ Dung Eater is the creator of all Omens
_ Any convoluted timeline.

Reminder to praise every Albinauric you kill for the rune.

What connections do the Carians have to the Crystalians? All I have is Magic Downpour and the similar spell casting symbols.
>One of the sorceries of the Carian royal family.

>Summons a mass of magic that fires projectiles over a wide area.
This sorcery can be cast while in motion. Charging extends
duration.

>Said to have been taught by the Crystalians to mark the swearing
of the old concord.

What’s the lore on the boxes and wheelbarrows in the same room as Astel stars of darkness? Was he wheeling stuff around the room before we barged in and destructed him?

The miners mined him out.

So If I have this all right...:

Marika married Radragon and had three sets of three kids, The M's (Miquella Malenia Malkieth Morgott), The G's (Godfrey Godwyn Godrick) and the R's, (Radagon, Radahn, Ranni, Rykard). Each of them took a third of the ring when the shards broke, and split, so the Golden lineage had one, The redmanes had one, and then the Caria academy had one because of Ranni who gave it to her mother. And then a war broke out between the shardbearers, so Renalla fought Radahn, then married him as a ceasefire so he could go on to study gravity magics under the academy. then he broke up with her to go learn holy incantations under melania but instead fought her and got the scarlet rot and was forced to retreat back where he ended up infecting all of caelid and sealed himself, meanwhile ranni gave up her rune to die and become a doll, so the unbirthing rune lost its potency as a great archring. Then the third ring which margit held was used to close the erdtree while he tested the player through his omens to test his worth from tarnished to lord after getting to lindell then sends them to the giant mountaintop where the death flame that killed godfrey is then used to burn the tree open, then you fight his ghost, fix the elden ring, and then fight marika's ethreal slug form which is actually a bloodborne style old one?

Ok lore masters help, Mogh cut content dialogue regarding Miquella is extremely crazy. I'm gonna post some parts here:
Upon entrance
[20140000] Dearest Miquella.
[20140100] You must abide alone a while.
[20140200] No one else will take you.
[20140300] Never again, I swear!

Upon victory
[209904000] Now, surrender yourself.
[209904010] To my blood, to our coming dynasty.

Upon defeat
Section 05
[209905000] Ahh, I can see it, as clear as day!
[209905010] The coming of our dynasty!
[209905020] Mohgwyn!
Section 06
[209906000] Ahh, Miquella...
[209906010] Why do you abandon me?

Mogh implied that Miquella was taken by someone after he kidnapped him, and later Miquella eventually left/rejected him. We know for sure that there was never any mention of Miquella being taken by anyone except for Mogh.
What the fuck is going on?

The three (or is it two?) crystallian boss fight guards the path up to the terra magica tower in Raya Lucaria, so there’s a loose connection

Ranni killed Iji and Blaidd despite loving them because she was a traitorous bitch.
Marika killed Godwyn despite loving them because she was a traitorous bitch.
Why do people believe one of these and discard the other automatically despite them being equally accurate?

>No one else will take you.
Could just be referring to “no one but me will take you”

Neither are true and you're a schizo.

I don't know if this mysterious event was related to Miquella's necklace.

He said "never again, I swear!" so I doubt it's just his obsession. He was freaking out here.

REEEEE I have irrefutable evidence REEEEEEEEEE no you’re the schizo REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

A lot of the cut content dialogue should be taken with a grain of salt as some is not canon/was retconned by the main game. Maybe they cut out the Miquella dialogue from Mohg because they didn't want to make it so obvious that he would be DLC, or maybe they just never wanted Mohg to figure out Miquella was moonlighting as St Trinna instead of being in his blood cocoon and he died ignorant of that.

either way, cut content is not canon

Why do the jars like being rubbed so much? To the point of prioritizing that their protector have smooth hands rather than being good at fighting.

Attached: diallos.jpg (620x349, 78.81K)

>they just never wanted Mohg to figure out Miquella was moonlighting as St Trinna instead of being in his blood cocoon and he died ignorant of that.
Yeah I guess so but I'm very curious what would happen in the DLC, hopefully, it will shine some light onto this confusing part.

have you ever cleaned your jar? It's the same feeling.

>Juno Hoslow had a younger brother who was all talk and no trousers. His inability to commit to action was such that Juno inherited the Hoslow legacy without resistance, granting him the freedom to shower his little brother with adoration.
It was all his big bro’s plan to keep his adorable little brother’s hands soft

The only part that needs to be cleared up is whether Miquella planned for Mohg to kidnap him or whether he didn't and just tried to make the best out of a bad situation. Everything else is not really that relevant anymore. I guess a concrete timeframe of when he was kidnapped would be welcome too, as it's unclear if Malenia still thinks he's in the tree or knows that he was "kidnapped", but that's not really relevant in the story anymore outside of the mystery.

So what's up with Jars? Do they magically get bigger the more they eat or do the have to actually make new bodies for themselves if they want to get bigger and what is the process if true? Is it like moulting for animals that have exoskeletons? Is that why there are so many empty Jars around? Do they exchange bodies for bigger ones like hermit crabs?

Attached: 1649142992876.jpg (1019x1244, 200.99K)

they definitely don't get bigger after eating more, you should know that if you did his quest

I agree, the Malenia part is extremely confusing. For Miquella's plan to be kidnapped, it's the same kind of Marika being the collaborator thing for me, no gain or benefit by coming with Mogh given that we know the Haligtree wasn't completed because of Mogh. The counterargument is not very convincing imo.

Collapsing Stars:
>A gravitational technique mastered by the young Radahn. "I thank you for your tutelage, for now I can challenge the stars."
Gravity Well/Rock Sling:
>A gravitational technique studied by the young Radahn. His master was an Alabaster Lord with skin of stone.
Meteorite:
>The sorcery originates from the Onyx Lords, who had skin of stone, and were called lords in reverential fear of their destructive power.
Onyx/Alabaster Lord's Greatsword
>A weapon unique to the Onyx/Alabaster Lords, a race of ancients with skin of stone who were said to have risen to life when a meteor struck long ago.
Remembrance of the Starscourge
>The Red Lion General wielded gravitational powers which he learned in Selia during his younger days. All so he would never have to abandon his beloved but scrawny steed.
Starscourge Greatsword
>Radahn earned considerable renown as the Starscourge in this youth, and it is said that it was during this time he engraved the gravity crest up these blades.
Radahn's Redmane Helm:
>Helm of the golden lion, with flowing red hair. Worn by General Radahn. Radahn inherited the furious, flaming red hair of his father Radagon, and is fond of its heroic implications.
>"I was born a champion's cub. Now I am the Lord of the Battlefield's lion."

Radahn's Lion Armor/Greaves/Gloves:
>Armor depicting the golden lion. Worn by General Radahn.
>The golden lion is said to symbolize Godfrey, the first Elden Lord, and his beast regent, Serosh. From his youngest years, Radahn was naturally captivated by the Lord of the Battlefield.

Sellen Dialogue:
>But long ago, General Radahn challenged the swirling constellations, and in a crushing victory, arrested their cycles.
Volcano manor:
>Picrel of him with human skin in Volcano Manor
Kenneth:
>"Honestly, Godrick's nothing more than a jumped up country bumpkin. Lord? Don't make me laugh."
>"First he hid himself amongst the womenfolk to flee the capital, then hid from Radahn in that castle.."

Miyazaki in an interview:
>these demigods were much closer to their original form, and maybe closer to human form back then, before the Shattering, before it all started," says Miyazaki.

In his youth, he:
>Learned Gravity magic in Selia
>Learn gravity magic from An "Alabaster Lord" which came from space.
>Engraved gravity crest in his blades and gained renown as "Starscourge"
>Challenged the stars "a long time ago" indicating he held the stars/invaders in his youth too.

Notes:
>One if not the primary motivations for doing so was for the HORSEY haha updooted
>Idolizes Godrey and Radagon
>Godrick was "hiding" from Radahn, after he fled the capital, which does seem to indicate Radahn might have attacked Leyndell.
>Whether you want to believe that intro picture is Radahn vs Morgott is up to you, he does look almost identical to him with the exception of the horns.
>Ranni, Rykard and Radahn all were seemingly humans at one point and underwent some sort of trasnformation: Ranni into a doll, Rykard into a snake, Radahn into a big boi with stone skin. Miyazaki also says as much.

>Radahn likely attacks Leyndell with Godefroy, as Godrick Flees, then Godrick returns in the trailer for the 2nd siege.

Am I a schizo anons?

Attached: Radagon's kids.jpg (994x500, 168.66K)

What am I supposed to get out of all this

Radahn lore I autistically lifted from another thread.

I actually feel like the vagueness of this game's backstory doesn't work in its favor like it did in previous titles. There's a lot of characters with potential that just aren't going to be explored. Pretty fitting for a gurm project though considering I spent years interested in his stuff only for there to be no payoff.

Attached: 1650398056175.png (800x1115, 1.84M)

>The only part that needs to be cleared up is whether Miquella planned for Mohg to kidnap him

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that he did. The Haligtree was his life's project and the only hope of curing his sisters illness, Mogh coming in and stealing him from the tree ruined everything. I think people hone in on the bewitching branch description waaaaayyy too much and ignore everything else we know about him.

>Am I a schizo anons?
Why? It’s just a collection of descriptions and info relating to Radahn? What’s your point?

What’s the grey pile in the middle of the forge of the giants?

You missed one son
>The Starscourge Conflict
>Radahn alone holds Sellia secure
>And stands tall, to shatter the stars
A hill of swords near Sellia says this I think. It makes it sound like the starscourge war started from an attack on Sellia. We know Sellia is supposed to be on top of Nokron, and that Astel once destroyed an eternal city. So maybe the stars wanted to destroy Nokron as well, but had to get through Sellia, which caused Radahn to pimp smack them.

I blame Miyazaki more than GRRM. He's been doing the "dying world in a state of collapse" thing for so long he doesn't really know how to do anything else.

>Aspect of the Crucible: Tail
>Aspect of the Crucible: Horn
>Aspect of the Crucible: Breath
>Aspect of the Crucible: Wings (unobtainable)
bros... are Dragons the pinnacle of the Crucible?

I think that might detail Malenia, seeing as the Aeonia shit happens on top of it.

>Tail
It's not a dragon's tail
>Horn
Dragons don't have horns
>Breath
The throat pouch that appears is not that of a dragon
>Wings
Does pic-related look like Dragon wings to you?

Attached: KNEEL.jpg (1280x720, 210.97K)

Yes, dragons are the ultimate life form.
They have attained true immortality and were the first rulers of the Lands Between. They even have two cults that worship them(though one wants to eat their hearts).

Malenia wasn't a part of Radahn's war against the stars though? Their conflict happened during the shattering, which was afterwards.

What's the lore behind these faggots being so fucking hard to beat?

Attached: 1649828297146.jpg (293x179, 41.64K)

All that matters is Sellen.

if he learned gravity magic at a young age for the sake of his horse i find it hard to believe his size is due to some weird transformation like what ranni and rukard3 went though

>Godfrey's personal elite knights, connected to the true primordial cradle of life itself

Seems pretty self-explanatory.

Warriors of a dead cult that worshiped the Crucible, and who didn't turn into some ugly Misbegotten.
They became Godfrey's bodyguards when the Golden Order invaded, and conquered most of the Lands Between.

yes, they are some of the most ancient life in existence so it's makes sense

So why didn't they turn ugly like everyone else who took the crucible pill? Superior genetics?

From what I gather all Martin did was make the characters and perhaps take the illuminating world-tree idea from Tolkien, along with some other details. I actually don't mind the whole post-apocalyptic fantasy shtick of his though, it fits the gameplay, but if Elden Ring gets a sequel it would make sense to go for a different tone.

>English bootleg version
You did NOT play Elden Ring.

Attached: 1620567409928.png (1342x971, 1.51M)

>They have attained true immortality
not true

they're too based

So, death being fucked up, summoned phantoms, and "everyone having lost their minds/hollowed" is just some lazy holdover terminology for gameplay contrivance right?
Every summon seems like it would just be fighting alongside/against someone who's actually there, enemies all seem to still have jobs and hierarchy.

No it’s omens
Morgott has a tail
Sewer omens breathe omen “fire”
Mohg grows wings
Horns are the telltale sign of an omen

>a race of ancients with skin of stone who were said to have risen to life when a meteor struck long ago.
Isn't this the same description with Numen race?

Kys

You're such a retard post the entire dialogue

So what's the official canonical Knight power ranking?
>Crucible Chads > Carian Knights > Tree Sentinel > Night's Calvary > Clean Rot Knights > Blood Hound Knights

>All that matters is Sellen.
Sellens story is complete.
She was kicked out of the Academy for heretical studies
She continues those heretical studies with your help
Goes back to Raya Lucaria and essentially cackles "IVE SHOWN THEM, IVE SHOWN THEM ALL"
Gets her comeuppance as a meatball for flying too close to the stars
She was always one of the ones doomed to fail, because she wouldn't let go of her arrogance.

Attached: file.png (1635x684, 1.52M)

Ranni doesn't stop shit, FF and Rot are still running loose on the world.

>Starscourge Conflict
Huh, you're right. So he literally BTFOs some invaders. Sellia has forbidden/night magic. I always assumed that was Malenia.
Night Maiden's Mist [6500]
>One of the night sorceries of Sellia, Town of Sorcery.
>Releases a life-sapping silver mist before the caster, dealing damage to all caught within, including the caster. This sorcery can be cast while in motion.
>Below Sellia, the Eternal City of Nokron sleeps. >This sorcery originates from the maiden of that place.
Nokron is right underneath Sellia too, right. Between the magic in Sellia, and astels/fallingstar beasts trying to rape Sellia/Nokron they're probably related

Nope, it's not.
Yea, but per that interview and that protrait it seems like he changed from a demigodish human being like 10 ft, to the chungus he is in the game.
I was also trying to make sense of why there is a mini-radahn fighting Morgott in the intro, but people think that it isn't him.

Based non-understander of English.

the nox sitting in nokron under sellia must have been feeling smug as fuck having everyone else unknowingly protect them

but then why does enia talk about the rune of death being "plucked" from the ring upon it's creation?

Maybe it was because of the great rune

>>these demigods were much closer to their original form, and maybe closer to human form back then, before the Shattering, before it all started
So the outer gods didn't give a fuck about anyone until they inherited shards?

ranni did nothing wrong

The Onyx Lords all seem to come out of some gravitational anomaly when you show up, none of them ever are just standing there right?
Do they hang out in some pocket dimension usually?

Individually crucible knights are probably the strongest, but Tree Sentinels are probably up there too. Night's calvary are jobbers.

the image literally talks about this user

Confirmed: Malenia is the most attractive demigod (to outer gods)

ok but Sellen is cute.
