This argument is always really weird because in 2-3 years PS5 will be mid budget tier at most but you'll be stuck with that system for another 7

Pretty much exactly on par with a PS5. Next upgrade will be towards the end of the 40xx gen.

I havent found a reason to upgrade from my 1080. Might get a 4080 later just to keep current and so i wont have to worry about any ps6/xbox shartcicle era games that might be neat.

I maxed out the z270 board. Have to buy another motherboard and cpu. I'll goto Ryzen soon.

Running 5600x 6700xt sapphire nitro. 3440x1440p most games high or maxed 80 to 120 fps. If cant get stable 120 I use RSR 1200p to stick to 120fps

Still haven't gotten a CPU yet. Not sure if 12600k, 12700k or 12900k.

It's already mid-budget tier. The CPU is weak by today's standards, and the GPU is more or less equivalent to a 6600-6600 XT.
In a world with normal graphics card prices, you would be able to buy a PC as fast as a PS5 for €700-800.

i just recently upgraded from my 3570k which lasted me 10 years and am now using as a media server.
i honestly could have waited another year or two to upgrade since i mainly just played CK3 every now and then which it ran fine.

One of them is, but it has no reason to be. I also have a PS5 and most of the games I enjoy on my PC are old enough to run on toasters. I have a 3080 and 32 gigs of RAM to play FFXI and STALKER

If say that’s as close as you can get to ps5. I had the same but upgraded to a 3070ti, and now it runs games 60 fps that run at 20 fps in graphics mode on ps5
