I know I'm getting old when people post shit like this and I have no idea what the context is.

Somehow……..

Is this NuDisney shit?

I don't get it

Blizzard has returned.

I know what meme you're talking about but what movie is it from again?

MGS4 ending

Genichiro summoning Sword Saint for the finale
There is enough foreshadowing for the Black Blade's existence, but none whatsoever for it's ability to revive a person via ritualistic self-sacrifice

is this the newest FOTM capeshit or whatever Yea Forums watches these days?

WoW kinda has moments like this
>*sigh* somehow, the old gods have returned

Boku no Pico

Nathan Drake from the Uncharted movie

I remember me and my buddy legit laughing out loud when this line dropped.
What a terrible fucking movie. Can't believe we saw it in theaters.

Oh wait that's when Palpatine returned. Never watched that garbage but I saw a meme about it. Also it was okay to have 2 secret Skywalkers but everyone freaking the fuck out a out at single secret Palpatine

no
it's a Disney movie
you're thinking of a Disney TV show starring the same actor

>a small disenfranchised band of Nu Rebels with less resources, talent and luck have just learned that the guy who had an iron grip on the galaxy and is also a Sith Lord who perished in the Death Stars destruction has returned from the dead
>they are literally being hunted by some larping remnant faction of The Galactic Empire
>they also learn hes built a fleet consisting of hundreds of planet killing ships
>he did this in no time whatsoever
>they just act like someone stepped on their shoes
>they aren't literally trembling in fear at this entire premise

Thats what made the scene retarded. I mean sure Palps coming back is always retarded but this is something that they would hear out of a horror story and they treat it like someone just spit in their cereal.

Damn you

Somehow... Zenos has returned

MGS4 definitely comes to mind
>Somehow ocelot is now in control of every PMC in the world and also liquid snake

>What a terrible fucking movie. Can't believe we saw it in theaters.
Marketing is a hell of a drug

We went into it knowing it was probably gonna be bad. We were hoping it was gonna at least be amusingly bad.
But it wasn't. It just sucked.
And kept sucking. For a long time.

Is that from a videogame or something?

Terrible example. Wesker died once and came back as the eponymous “Resident Evil.” Then he died in 5 and hasn’t come back.

>muh dc douglas said impressive in umbrella corps
Not wesker

I went to visit my dad for christmas and he wanted to go see the movie with me because I was a huge star wars fan growing up, but I had already seen it streamed with Yea Forums and didn't have the heart to tell him how bad it was.
I simply don't understand why anyone lets JJ make movies anymore.

I know this character but not familiar with the scene, does Poe say something like " What is this? Some kind of star...war?"

Haven't seen Rise of Skywalker so forgive my ignorance.

a new final fantasy instead of chrono trigger or something new

Not just Wesker, but also Umbrella.
>RE4 starts with Umbrella going bankrupt
>RE5 has Tricell using old Umbrella research
>RE6 has fucking Neo Umbrella
>RE7 goes even stupider with Blue Umbrella

They bring the emperor back "somehow..."

>Black scroll
An old text describing a black Mortal Blade.
"In addition to the red Mortal Blade, there exists one that is black in color.
The blade's name is "Open Gate", and is said to hold the power to open a gate to the underworld.
It is through this power that it creates life. I beseech you, make offerings for the Dragon's Blood..."

I love how despite years later and access to the 4k version, the most popular upload is still some shitty cam rip

Chrono Cross and Lavos.

You could say it's like poetry.

*sigh* Somehow, Frank West has returned.

Attached: dead-rising-8-1.jpg (640x359, 55.95K)

How appropriate

What made this so funny is that there was zero fucking foreshadowing. Like, at all. And they didn't even bother trying to explain how he returned. He just did. Somehow.

I pretty much agree with this

Mystery of the Druids

Somehow, Arefu has food.

To be fair, this is not a case of "somehow" but a case of "as expected, Ganon has returned" even in-universe.

Best part was how poe sounded so tired when he confirmed sheev's return.

The funniest thing is that Poe needed to tell everyone that Palpatine returned for some reason. The old man announced it to the galaxy in Fortnite

fuck this shit, dr died when 3 came out

No one is going to say Vergil in DMC 5?

the "somehow" was that Palpatine was pulled out of JJ's ass because he didn't feel like putting in any effort or creativity in telling a story. he got paid, Disney made their money, and now they want to stay as far away from the sequel trilogy as possible.

Wait a minute, that card...

Doesn't work, Vergil's return was actually anticipated.

>TLJ, for all its flaws, ends on a remarkably interesting concept
>Broom Boy™ is an interesting parallel to our mary sue protag, who also has no lineage at this time
>Message is clear and even somewhat powerful for the audience that it might resonate with: hope and the power to fight can come from anywhere
>*One movie later*
>Whoops! "Rey from Nowhere" is too different and actually somewhat interesting. Let's make her a Palpatine!
Holy fuck, what a fumble.

was it ever explained how he returned tho?

Dark magic. Cloning. Secrets only the Sith knew.

Loaded a quicksave.

Erm it's explained in the comics that have already contradicted the TV show, chud.

Star Wars has never been good. The problem is they're making Star Wars movies in 2022 where everyone can criticize them objectively. No one criticized the original trilogy because they were unique sci fi adventures, they were novelty films. Now that sci fi has been done much better in film over the years, people can only look at star wars with contempt and rightfully so.

If they had the stones to actually go with their mess left with TLJ I would have respected it and it would have actually felt like a trilogy of films, for better or worse. I can't quite believe how they just went ahead and disregarded most of the prior films ideas and set up.

the Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some would consider to be unnatural

In the comics that came out after, he set up clones of himself and Snoke offshoots a few years before he died. Vader even knew about it but I guess decided not to tell anyone about the Sith army and fleet waiting on Exogol.

Same thing as Dark Empire, his spirit posessed a cloned body that was degrading because of how unstable his clone bodies were and how cancerous his spirit is. Palps wanted to posess one of the Solo kids and in TLJ he wants to posess Rey. Same shit, different day.

At the bottom of that shaft he fell into at the end of ROTJ there was a portal to the fortnite world.

"Somehow". Weren't you listening user?

You're not old enough to remember but they were shlock back then too. Return in particular was laughed at. And just like today, they still make money despite that

The deliver is so good because the actor was like "what the fuck am I even saying"

BUT SOMEHOW HOW

>critisism only existed in the last ten years

TLJ fails miserably as a 2nd part of the trilogy, killing the main villain and leaving two pathetic losers for the final movie.

JJ is far from being a great director, but idiotic choices of Ryan left him with no other choice, than to introduce another villain that would pose a serious threat for the protagonists, also someone completely new to this series wouldn't make much sense to be introduced in the last part of the trilogy.

>somehow
>foreshadowed nearly immediately after he was killed

the dude wasnt even acting thats why it stuck out to so many people hes supposedly a big fan and was excited to be in his favorite series only for it to end like this

>Somehow... Ridley returned

Attached: ridley tongue.jpg (850x799, 186.96K)

>somehow... Illidan has returned

>was it ever explained how he returned tho
The last movie was so shit and ruined any semblance of narrative capacity that Disney had to pull something massive out of their ass just to get people to remain interested, so they got the original villain. That's how he returned.

youtube.com/watch?v=Yu5lt5vCK5s

Vergil

Use Kylo as the villain and don't make him simp for Sheev. Make him irredeemable

>JJ is far from being a great director, but idiotic choices of Ryan left him with no other choice, than to introduce another villain that would pose a serious threat for the protagonists
Just bring snookie back. Coming back from being cut in two is more plausible than coming back from being killed in a moon sized explosion.

Star War

> and now they want to stay as far away from the sequel trilogy as possible.
I wish they were that smart. Didn't season 2 of TM have a sequel bait episode with those Snoke-looking things in pods? They'll have to aknowledge it at some point in their series since recotconing it would be admitting they fucked up.

Sci fi had already been done better before the original movies. See: 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Plenty of people actually criticized the originals for their commercialism and shallowness.
Thing is they still weren't as patently stupid as these Disney sequels.
The plot in the very first film is actually very coherent and doesn't really have any plot holes to speak of (any that weren't retroactively introduced by later sequels/prequels that is)
The continuity has of course progressively been unraveling itself with each movie starting with Vader being Luke's father which was pretty much an asspull.
It's kind of hard to avoid that in long-running multi-movie franchises.

They had Hux, who already had beef with Kylo.
If they began to take him more seriously and gave him the big push as the big villain, it would've had the chance to make the Snoke fake-out have a decent payout. Hux is a general and the whole threat of the First Order is its military might. It would feed into the sequel trilogy's exploration of the force, muddying the conflict between light and dark and presenting the heroes with the challenge of putting aside that conflict to defeat a common enemy that exists outside of the jedi/sith alignment.

Yes, and Boba Fett showed Like building his temple that Kylo burns done.

I need to sleep but you get the point

>Make him irredeemable
That was never gonna happen since kylo was the only remotely good character however I didn't expect him to die after being redeemed.
Especially after the kiss wtf were those retards thinking?

"No. I...am your father. And also, a fucking scorpion."
Games for this feel?

Attached: what were they theeeeenking.gif (412x360, 1.27M)

Yes.

Honestly, Rey should have stayed dead at that point.

Help Wanted

Joker in the Arkham games.
He's basically either the antagonist or the deuteragonist in every fucking game.

Attached: jonker.jpg (760x428, 51.06K)

He pretty much just stated that the Emperor somehow retruned, only he says it so casually that he might as well be talking about a minor inconvience he recently had

>If they began to take him more seriously and gave him the big push as the big villain
That's just it, the entire First Order is a joke. Hux literally gets yo Mama'd.
Kylo loses to a random scavenger and has anger issues.
Phasma

>Luke, tell your sister that Palpatine already had clone bodies prepared alongside Snoke creations. Also tell her about the huge Sith Fleet on Exogol that is being created right now for after Palpatine goes scorched earth in a scheme that will lead into Empire becoming first order so that Snoke can maybe find a Skywalker to corrupt so that he can be killed by said Skywalker so he can hunt down Sheev's clone progeny and attempt several times to kill her but actually he just wants her brought to him so he can inhabit her body. Tell her he was a good friend.

If Rey is supposed to be his granddaughter than who the fuck is Palpatine's wife anyway? There has never baen any indication whatsoever of him being in a relationship in any of the films from any era

>guy begged JJ to keep his character alive because he keeps playing guys who die off (but probably because he wanted to stick with the Star Wars money)
You can tell by this point he probably regrets it since Disney has done nothing but shit on said character along with the train wreck the trilogy has been

And not even sticking and trying to make them good characters is even worse than just throwing them away for the old. It says everything though about the handling of these films. Honestly I didn't even care to talk about them, they didn't even introduce cool designs or lore.

What a nice concise plot we got here, would be a shame if someone RESURRECTED AGAIN!
