>Instead of XCOM 3, we get capeshit
>It uses a fucking trading card system so idk what moves I'll even be able to draw
WHY FIRAXIS? NO ONE WANTED THIS!
Instead of XCOM 3, we get capeshit
Other urls found in this thread:
who cares
all they can make is sjw shit
Only game I've played from Firaxis is XCOM. You're gonna need to be more specific about the SJW shit.
At least we are getting End State.
Right?
Considering XCOM 2 it's probably a good thing they didn't make a third. It was already tainted by capeshit mechanics and far less emphasis on player tactics, might as well give up on the turn-based combat and make it a team combat game ala Dawn of War 2 at this point.
EW, however, remains superior.
i wanted this
i haven't paid for a single of their game since civ 5 basic
yeah, seems cool. I want it.
What would you want to see in XCOM 3 that WotC and mods didn't add or fix? The game is basically perfect with a few gameplay mods (no LOST, etc.)
>Blade
>Ghost Rider
I will now buy your game
I barely recognize anyone except Iron Man, Wolvie and Cap. The black guy is Blade, I hope, and not Falcon. Is that Psylocke in the middle?
After the future alien cops shit do you want another xcom?
Recruitable Aliens. It's possible now because of Chimera Squad.
Metal gear acid was fun
chimera squad is pozzed
Will ChristopherOdd play both this and Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate Daemonhunters?
Funnily enough, the game models look good. It's just the art style that sucks.
The artstyle was ok, the big issues were the painful writing and the shitty gameplay
>and the shitty gameplay
I honestly liked the breaching mechanic.
>less memory leaks
>more teams than 0, 1, 2,
>not being on shit unreal 3 so the editor doesn’t crash every third click
That’s about it for me.
I don't mind the card stuff. I think capeshit fights are supposed to be dynamic and being able to plan everything only fits for Batman and fuck that. The gameplay footage they showed a while ago looked not very fun and capeshit sucks anyway so despite being the one person in the world who likes the cards idea I shan't be playing this.
being able to go NO XENOS GENOCIDE YES route if ends up sticking in the canon
im not invested in this franchise anymore so firaxis can fuck them up as hard as they want
>ChristopherOdd
Who?
The breaching and the time system were good. I hope that's the template for XCOM games going forward.
Why are they all like the sinestro corps variants? And who's the mage on the far left Dr. Strange? At any rate whatever variant of whatever character that is I think he looks neat.
Yellow and black is the new blue and orange user.
Why is Lara Croft in the middle?
Oh I got you, like the Steelers and like that rap song.
I think that's you, the player.
DEMON MOMMY
It is, you're able to create your own character.
>plan the sequel to a game based on the worst fucking players
SAD! Just cause most people are fucking ass doesnt mean I am and I shouldn't have to have a sequel based on their playthroughs.
>x-com+marvel
yep, it’s kino time
fuck you elder ring for forcing the delay of this game
WoTC was basically already capeshit
youtube.com
Haven't seen a map that looks larger than 3 or 4 dozen movement squares
To me it looks like they are doing Chimera Squad again with multiple small maps within a mission.
Extremely disappointed if that is the case.
>aliens are no longer balls-on-walls ridiculous to fight, at least until late-game, meaning no special abilities like the Codexes dividing on hit and teleporting everywhere and attacking in the same turn in early-mid game
>removed hit chances, instead accuracy determines how much damage gets through (rounded down) with some exceptions, and armor serves to effectively further lower the damage, meaning that even 40-50% accuracy shots can deal 0 damage on heavily-armored targets, but the effect itself becomes less effective the closer the attacker is and certain long-ranged abilities/perks can mitigate this effect
>when you discover a pod the character that discovered it gets a free action to either run to cover or attack the enemies before the enemies scatter to cover
>as the game progresses the aliens recruit sympathizers at first, like ADVENT but more alien-friendly and far more cowardly, but eventually they're simply chipped/brainwashed/cyborgified and become as zealous as the aliens and consist some of the more threatening enemies as they are not as restricted in their niches as the aliens, meaning you can see a variety of them ranging from minigunners to snipers to medics and they do what your troops do except with alien technology instead of XCOM technology
>timer element only appears on high-risk high-reward missions rather than being a near-constant element, and it only starts if the squad engages combat with enemies and thus raising the alarm
>simplified strategy layer to somewhere between 1 and 2, seriously it got bloated
if you actually beat the game, you'd see that the pozz was part of the plot
oh also
>2 HEROES AND THE OC DONUT STEEL CHARACTER MAKE UP THE SQUAD
So yeah clearly this is going to be chimera squad 2 marvel boogalo
Wait there's a capeshit XCOM? Sign me the fuck up
Friendly reminder that if you want superhero xcom Troubleshooter exists.
>removed hit chances
lmao no
Middle is OC Protagonist Do Not Steal, made specifically for the game.
>awful suggestion
>pointless suggestion
>good suggestion
>pointless suggestion
>pointless suggestion
>just wrong, EW had more actually going on in the strategy layer, despite not having the as many pop-ups
i dont care but black and yellow/gold is a kino color combination
>Wanting Xcom 3 after trashfire of Xcom 2 and CS
Are you sure you want this ? They will casualisd even more shit and make even more boring missions and cutscenes.
Play EW or modded UFO defence instead.
DO YOU RIKE DA GRINDAN GAEM?
left to right dr strange who cares iron man wolverine oc donut steel ghost rider blade capn I believe another oc donut steel and captain marvel
What is this? Haven't been following cape for years.
i really dont care if it's based on superheroes
I’ve played all 4 in the last two months, chimera squad is the only one that’s outright bad and it’s largely due to being a completely different style of game while also missing the core concept of the franchise.
>from the makers of XCOM
>Wolverine swipes at someone
>99% chance to hit
>miss
>get assfucked by a normal hoodnigga
>mission failed
And if it was Gollop (if Phoenix Point release was an indication) the moment you use a mode-based character your game glitches out because you can't exfil
Man, I wanted a terror from the deep remake...
this XCOM 2 has its flaws especially with war of the chosen but its still got great gameplay at the core of the experience. Chimera Squad bored me to tears.
With them clearly making this game more like chimera squad than xcom? Big no from me.
no chances to hit or accuracy shown in the gameplay so far.
I just want a UFO defense xcom game again is it too much to ask? I want to control more than 8 guys. Xenonauts is great but at this point i don't think the sequel is coming out.
He doesn't want cape shit strategy...
I imagine that’s what they’ll do if they make Xcom 3 but it’ll be lovecraft tentacles and madness focused.
Why does it feel like they tried to make a supernatural X-com, but nobody wanted to publish it so they just slapped Marvel on it.
>>removed hit chances
You really are retarded aren't you.
If you want no-miss chance Xcom, go play Phoenix Point. It has a larger strategy layer as well, especially in the overworld with the different factions because there's a reputation system.
>melee
>missing
In the original X-Com games you could simply throw more soldiers at the enemy and thus hit chances didn't matter as much because you had several times the soldiers to make up for it. Since nu-COM has smaller squads the hit chance's RNG element became a lot more apparent (and subsequently annoying because of how decisive it can be) and it stops mattering altogether late in the game when you simply throw psychic abilities at the enemies that they cannot dodge and you have snipers with 95% hit chance from across the map on overwatch with squadsight. The "guaranteed hits in some capacity" formula works a lot better, Mechanicus for example has "guaranteed hits with some exceptions" rather than accuracy and it works out well, although personally I think being able to so freely burn cognition points for movement makes the game easier than average, since the combat is heavily based on positioning.
Is it good now?
Play phoenix point
>"what's a ranger???"
