You gotta realize that sincere efforts in making vidya nowadays are a fools errand. Doing rehashes of shit zoomies never saw because they were too young for it, or trend chasing meta-irony reddit bullshit is the only true way to bring in the cash. In a way, the indie scene has basically mirrored the normal vidya scene, where you have to make your games extremely palatable and marketable to the least common denominator if you even want a fraction of the cash you dumped into it.

Atleast, the game actually came out and the gameplay is solid/fun for the most part. PN2 isn't a failed kickstarter since most of the other kickstarters can't even accomplish that.
