PC gives you access to more games than any single console does. I can play Halo MCC (xbox "exclusive") Days Gone (PS "exclusive"), Zelda BOTW via emulation (Nintendo), and Escape from Tarkov (PC's own exclusives) on my $600 Nitro 5 laptop while your console is limited to one of the games listed above.

The developers mostly started focusing on stuff like PlayStation, while the dudes who used to laugh about piracy claim it’s just as easy to jailbreak your PS as it is to click a link in the pirate bay.

Yeah, because back then it often didn't have the option to, even though e.g. (S)NES emulation was already a thing back in the 90s. Yes, the 90s.
Usually by the time the next generation launched, the previous generation was decently to well "emulatable" on PC. With PS2 being kind of an outlier, since PCSX2 has always been a visual mess for many games.
I don't know about the current state of PS3 emulation (the 360 never had any worthwhile exclusives anyway), but by that gen a lot of games just went multiplat sooner or later.
And starting with the PS4, Sony even began porting some former exclusives.
It sucks that we can't play Bloodborne with an acceptable performance, but that's From Soft being lazy technical fucks as usual.

Having a multi platform game nets you more money than exclusives.

I am serious, I built my PC in March and all I have used it for is to rebuy PS4 games and be excited about the performance boost for exactly one hour before realizing it's the same game, and getting pissed off that Final Fantasy 7 doesn't work well with Playnite because I need to click "LAUNCH" in a seperate launcher on top of launching it from steam

during the ps1 and ps2 generations, consolegames had higher hardware requirements that what most pcs could handle.. The computer parts market really took off in the mid to late 2000s, from a niche thing to a more affordable and accessible alternative to buying a fisher-price computer. Now that consoles are obsolete and release with mid-tier hardware compared to what you can get for your pc, console devs want in on the pc gamer market. Consoles are just holding back gaming with their backwards hardware limitations. and all the pissimng and shitting from consolekiddies coping won't change that

Lately I've been getting really into milsims so I've been spending a lot of time playing Squad and Escape from Tarkov, and as a longtime COH2 player I'm excited for Company of Heroes 3 to come out, had a great fucking time during the last test but haven't really been playing many other RTS games so I'm not the one to ask about those.
Also thinking of getting Ready or Not since I really like SWAT 4 but might wait until it's out of early access.
