Not really, it basically just told a lot of what we already knew if you read item descriptions. That and the idiot adventurer girl soured the story for me. The actual exploration was enjoyable though.

This. Although "knowing" those things before just seemed like vague speculation to me and actually knowing after hanging out with Dain was a different thing entirely. So for me the voiced stuff was all good, the unvoiced not so much.
Exploration and music was 10/10 though, unironically liked it more than Elden Ring.

This. When the game first came out I got massive Harry Potter vibes from it and reveled in the faux-nostalgia. Inazuma kind of lost out compared to the continent, then Dragonspine and tropical wonderland... but the Chasm, my god it threw nostalgia for HP away and replaced it with nostalgia of playing Dungeon Siege. Those mines after the city section were my favorite part as a kid and damn, Chasm hit the same spot.
