To be fair, customers leave because they have alternatives. HBO is still cheap, so is Amazon Prime. On top of that, pirating/streaming shows is even more popular than pirating games.
I wouldn't compare it 1:1 with a scenario where there's multiple game pass type services, each one costing a bundle, and with games DRM'd out the ass so you can't pirate them.

After it entirely destroyed the dvd market and killed multiple genres, netlifx finally took a hit yet we're still on the same path, nothing is changing there. It's not just the movie industry either, it's every tech industry. They all start out cheap and increase prices.

You're thinking Microsoft has the sole say in this. The bigger it gets the more publishers are going to pull their games out of gamepass to make their own version. Ubisoft and EA area already doing this, more will follow.
