playing video games is socially acceptable for children up to 16 and then it becomes acceptable again from 25 onward. You're only seen as a loser if you play video games during your prime years from 17 until your mid 20s, where you're supposed to party, find romance, travel and live life to the fullest.

I'm 32 don't see myself stopping any time soon. I mean I don't have as much time or get as much enjoyment but gaming is the best form of entertainment. I completely stopped watching TV when I was about 20, only watch a pirated show every now and then, and movies even less. I should get into reading but never had in life. If I don't play game I would just stare at a wall or procrastinate watching useless YouTube shit or post on Yea Forums all day

Time moves on, people grow up, but you don't necessarily have to quit the hobby. You just adjust. I played video games in elementary school, then basically stopped until I turned 25. Now at 25 I can finally enjoy them again and there's a ton of games I've heard about over the years that I'm just now playing. Like I finally played Halo 2 and Halo 3 a few weeks ago, and now I'm playing Shadow of the Colossus. It's a great feeling.

It happens naturally. I played less and less and now in my mid 20s I barely ever play video games. The illusion starts to wear off after a while and you realize its just a screen. Thats why “older” gamers usually start playing competitive multiplayer, it stops being about immersion and becomes more about competition.

Plus when you have a full time salaried job you only have like 2 hours a day to play.

I have learned you can lie about your age in 99% of situations and nobody will ever really know. Job interviews, at work, dating, in any professional event, etc. It's not so bad.

The only reason games feel like they need an age cap is because the medium is so young, they will likely be popular among older people in 20-30 years time. Of course, making playing them your entire life is a different story.

I'm 31 and nearly done. My dad must have stopped around 35-40 so I expect in the next 5 years I'll check out. I won't be buying a console again.

That said my father in law has an Xbone, PS4 and Switch and is a popular well adjusted and quite well off guy who has just retired at 55.

My family's 8 hours away since the relocation, I cook, build furniture, have about 50 animals in total, I'm busy, but busy doing what I want and my wife loves it, if she were to divorce me I'd buy a nice little place on the beach and go fishing every fucking day on her dollar, fishing is the only thing I really miss being out in the country.

I put in 5 years getting her through uni (she was 17 first year) , it was a joint effort then, very much one sided now.

If you are a professional e-sports gamer then 30 is a good mark to retire
If you are just a streaming fag gamer then retirement is just when you decide to raise a family
If you just play games then there is no retirement age but you'll gradually play less to sleep more.
