well there's no storyline either
what end do you want to see if there's no beginning

Re-open the gates
Escape the sector

Is this finished yet? So sick of scumbag Devs not finishing their fucking games

There's some of a storyline, which I like. Starsector's a similar kind of game to Mount & Blade but has a similar issue in that the amount of stuff you can really get up to is limited.
Good fun though. Remember to hand in all rogue AI cores to your local hegemony officer.

It'll release with star citizen

eh still fun, currently working on making 10 million and a decent fleet before I start settling planets

Alternatively, reopen the gates and heavily tax anyone who wants to go through it.

would you want that though?
you already build an empire that has logistics without it
opening the gates will create a lot of competition

Yeah, I didn't finish Morrowind either, because there is no endgame content.

rent free

I just want a bigger sector, factions interacting with each other more and more colony stuff

you guys can just play space rangers if you want story

t. endgame contentlet
If your game doesn't have endgame content it's shit. No exceptions.

name 3 games that have adequate endgame content for your liking

what does morrowind have to do with anything?
also endgame thing comment is retarded

but is there ever an endgame with 4x games

Conquering all the other factions of course. Either by war it peaceful integration

hmm how come this thread is kinda negative about this game this time?
usually Yea Forums loves this game

never played it tho, on my wishlist, should i get it? been craving a space 4x game

>game named starsector
>doesn't let you make a starsect

definitely worth playing, it's one of the best games out there

what is wrong with this game modding scene?

trannies

the usual modder narcissism

>doesn't let you sect stars

it's free
sseth's cdkey is still working and the devs dont care

does it work with the new versions?

QRD?
I've only used a few QoL mods and never interacted with any of the mod community, is there some juicy autism?

>new patch
>wait for mods to update
>new patch on the horizon
>repeat
aaaaaaaaaaa

>the game beat me
im too stupid for these sorts of games

The same thing that plagues mods for all games now. The good modders realised it was a better use of their time to just learn Unity or Unreal to make a real game. And make money off of it. So all you have left are trannies with egos who are looking to play pretend as devs without putting any work in. It's why you have these giant teams of modders but the actual progress is slow as fuck. Because at most maybe 2 people do any work.

Yeah.
I haven't played it in a while but last I played it (which was after a major update) it worked. Ironically I used the key to make sure it would run on my toaster laptop - I then bought it after but it wouldn't accept my new key because sseth's one was already in my PC registry, lol.

yes
modder drama, most recent thing I can think of is one of them making their weapons do significantly more damage to ships from other modders they don't like, real petty stuff

I notice recent "no endgame content" posting in starsector threads.
Probably zoomers needing another game as service.

*tax and customs

I want the end game to be some type of universal apocalypse event where the edge of the map start to encroach on the sectors and freaky horrible aliens start attacking from tendrils like in 40k

there basically isn't a victory condition, maybe you have to open the gates and hope they shoot you beyond the reach of the aliens or something

Alternatively, destroy the gates and any hope of escaping for everyone

I played this shit for days and warband/bannerlord too but then I realized something just a few weeks ago.
None of these games lets you send out a detachment to intercept/scout/harass/distract ahead of your slower fleet/army.

>see this on reddit
>check comments
>scroll down a bit
>"I wonder who could be behind this post"
there's still hope for them

>most recent thing I can think of is one of them making their weapons do significantly more damage to ships from other modders they don't like
amazing

I nuked Chicomoztoc, good enough for me.

The sector is en route to inevitable collapse whatever logistics you set up

Too many key systems are decaying

>become bros with the [redacted]
>build your colonies in their systems
>watch as Hegemony inspection fleets get fucking raped every time they show up
technically had to cheat a little to make it work, but still the funniest shit

>>become bros with the [redacted]
i fucking wish

1.0 WHEN???

The Academy Lady basically said it herself, anyone who could politically unite the Sector and tap into one of the Coronal shunts could re-open the gates and let any ship use it for free.

No idea if that'll ever be real content though or just a 'you win' button.

That would be cool, if you could split off separate little forces.

I think its Nexerlin that adds some remnant quests to gain rep with them
It's obviously unbalanced as fuck but still fun. You just have to cheat the relationship between the remnants and independents (since most smugglers/traders/etc are classed as independent) so they don't massacre all your trade routes when they arrive in-system

God marks them with the nose.

I just got sent this from Discord lol. I got banned from Reddit so I don't even use it.

haven't played it in a year or so, gonna try that. thanks

Nexerlin is pretty much mandatory to play now imo
It expands the relationships/alliances/wars in the faction system way beyond the base game
adds ground invasions/raids too, which are scuffed as fuck but mostly functional

They could implement some fun endgame event and have stuff pour into the Sector. Kind of like War in Heaven or Crises in Stellaris. I don't remember if it'd make sense lore wise, but maybe Domain could come back to reclaim their clay or everything outside is shittershatteringly fucked by something even worse than [redacted].

It'd make sense for there to be some kind of "ending" considering the devs apparently aren't planning on fleshing out the universe simulation sandbox elements and faction diplomacy / wars, anyways.

>most recent thing I can think of is one of them making their weapons do significantly more damage to ships from other modders they don't like
based

thanks, just found sseth review and it was great, im getting this game for sure

apparently the devs themselves link the review in their FAQ, with the key on it
thats faith in your product right there!

>the devs apparently aren't planning on fleshing out the universe simulation sandbox elements and faction diplomacy / wars,
Really? That's like 90% of the appeal of the game
I'd drop it so fast if they ended up re-opening the gates or added some alien invasion shit and ruining the whole setting.

I just want more stuff to do after making a stable colony, feels like there's nothing to do then besides slaughter everyone else.

Can UI be upscaled yet? Unplayable above 1080p unless you like squinting to read text.

Yes, actually.

It's not really supposed to be a 4x.

it doesn't have to go full 4X, but considering the main focal points of development seem to be the combat and the economy (both of which are great), it seems weird that both of those elements just vanish once you hit the late-game
there needs to be SOMETHING there to do

whats the MUST HAVE mods for this game? or is is vanilla fine as is?

Yeah, it's assbackwards. The design is basically Mount & Blade type of sandbox in space and all it really needs is to be expanded further, both in terms of faction interactions and having more stuff to find in uncharted systems. But instead the dev keeps adding all this linear story fluff and quests.

there are quite few separated drama
but one I can think on top of my head of are the mod factions arm race
you know in that game when you use a faction mod
it just spawn their donut steel OC faction somewhere on the world gen, so it can go around do thing the normal vanilla AI can.
then there was one fag who made their snowflake faction little stronger than other and it end up breaking the camel back, and in a playthrough that faction will just overrun the entire map including all other people factions
and one thing lead to another these retards start overly buff their own snowflake faction on top of going full try hard meta comp among other shit

Attached: java_2019-09-06_09-07-30.png (578x500, 121.05K)

>most recent thing I can think of is one of them making their weapons do significantly more damage to ships from other modders they don't like
disgustingly hilarious

Attached: 1622719702889.gif (436x293, 225.35K)

Pettiest shit I ever saw

actually hilarious

>full try hard meta comp
what is the meta anyway? I was never that good at the combat
my strat was always put some bulky frontliners in the middle, with a bunch of cheap carriers behind and just have them hold the line
meanwhile I'll pilot something smaller and more agile and slip around the back to flank, usually works nicely until I get to enemies with multiple massive capital ships

Honestly never understood the need for games to last forever and have some kind of special end game. What gives, why can't you let the game be finished?

Also yes I realize the game in question isn't finished right now. I mean in general

Didn't Nexerlin do something malicious if it detected that you had the First Order or whatever it was called mod installed, something like crashing the game, memory leaks, and corrupting saves?

Carriers. Always has been, always will be

carrier spam
just like in real navy
fighter/bomber win the fight

the problem is most games don't properly finish either.

i just wish the economy was a little more fleshed out. there are no mods to improve its depth, either.

Play whatever you think is cool. I like the eagle or whatever the big beam ship is called for myself. And then whatever I can scrounge up for the rest. Never been a fan of the very biggest ships though.

I don't think nex has ever done anything like that, but there were some mods from another author which did crash the game if the no-no faction was also installed

Which mods?

I wanna be able to manage my colonies trade more
Why can't I stop sending certain resources to certain factions, or only buy imports from ones I like?
