how the fuck did this game die so fast ?
>everybody was hyped even for a simple skin release
>massive playerbase
>very frequents updates, correction, new content
>extremely fun
and yet nobody touch it anymore. I really don't understand.
how the fuck did this game die so fast ?
>everybody was hyped even for a simple skin release
>massive playerbase
>very frequents updates, correction, new content
>extremely fun
and yet nobody touch it anymore. I really don't understand.
cause it sucks ass and the only redeeming quality about it is sfm
>correction
It didn't need correction and it didn't need esports.
okay then why are there so many players then? if "nobody touches it anymore".
let me guess. you mean some eceleb shit?
>cause it sucks ass
care to elaborate?
>
>it didn't need esports.
really ? the most popular shooter today are all extremely competitive
>care to elaborate?
community is league of legends level intelligent, meta has been SUCKING fat nigger cock since 2017
>the most popular shooter today are all extremely competitive
All the biggest competitive games became competitive in spite of their devs, not because of them.
DOTA was initially a mod that people started playing competitively because it was fun and had depth, it didn't start balancing around that until later.
CS was the same
Melee is a huge esport despite it's devs actively hating it, because the game just inherently attracts that kind of audience.
As soon as you create a game from scratch with the sole purpose of being an 'esport', you've already failed
>extremely fun
Did we play the same game OP?
it was fun at launch and then they changed too much shit
This
COMP killed this game, before comp dropped it was fun
The problem was they were trying to balance the game around competitive and casual.
You can't do that.
You can't please both.
The "pro scene" was already forced to begin with. OWL is the most soulless esports out there.
Compare that to Worlds and TI and it's laughable how Blizzard is trying to force this inorganic growth on the playerbase.
Overwatch 2 also killed this game. Ever since they started development on it the work on OW1 has stalled.
When was the last time they released a hero? I believe it was Echo back in early 2020. It's been 2 fucking years. Then they have recycled events and shit.
Nobody wants to play Lucioball for the 6th time in a row.
having only 3 abilities is boring. just the same shit over and over, never able to switch up your gameplan just press the buttons in the order dictated by the devs. other games you have a selection of weapons overwatch gives you bullshit
Exactly, League of Legends had created for fun by few of nerds who wants to improve the code of DOTA and make moba more intense and funny. They have realised in perfect time how make this business the most profitable shit in Vidya game and create globohomo funbase whos spamming so much about the "good policy of game", cute skinlines etc
In that case I assume that Overwatch was mistake.
Tranny game.
>Nerfing character to the point where they're either unplayable/outclassed by other
>Not enough game modes
>Repetitive monthly events
>Role call
>Blizzard forcing a certain playstyle on majority of the characters rather than giving players freedom
>So many changes over the years that it barely resembled the game at launch, thus alienating most of the fanbase
>Story and character backgrounds dropped
>Brain dead rank matches
And this is from the point of view of someone who mainly played with friends, so I didn't experience voice chat nor cared for ecelebs
>Tranny game
/pol/ produces the most low iq people on this website
It's a fun game, but it just gets boring after a while and every game plays out pretty much the same.
lol was casual dogshit and became "competitive" because it was low IQ enough to attract a large number of retards to support a competitive scene aka marketing event.
I mean League doesn't have an organic pro scene either, Riot literally funds the whole thing.
Am I the only one who thinks all the porn related to this game was part of a marketing strategy?
Mei needs fatter tits. This is non-negotiable.
They need to be gigantic and have some of the best breast physics seen in any game.
They need to be so large that it actually effects her play style. Her default run speed needs to be slower, jumping causes damage to her and she has lowered jump height. Give her an option to sheathe her weapon and grab on to her fat tits to hold them in place while she runs a little faster.
Also her coat needs to have obviously burst open at some point and her tits just hang out. Clothed obviously since that would just be obscene.
Her voice lines also need to reflect this.
>"Hey slow down guys, I'm not as fast as I used to be!"
>"Oh... this is going to be a bumpy ride isn't it? I don't like bumpy rides..."
>"Maybe if you were looking up at my gun instead you'd have noticed it was pointed at you."
In return she should have more health, natural damage resistance, and knockback resistance. If she sprints in to people, they will be knocked about as well - particularly useful if they're frozen and next to an edge.
Finally she should be reclassified as a Support and have the option to lactate in to disposable bottles which she can toss out as medkits to her team, or just drink it herself and heal.
Only then might the game be fun and balanced.
Better games came out and they thought they didn't have to compete anymore. Many such cases.
>markets itself as the TF2 killer
>TF2 continues to plod along while its copycats rise and fall like flies
Love to see it
They stopped adding heroes and maps. Last hero release was like 2 years ago.
believe it or not, the game is still alive/not dead
pretty much like destiny
you're a man
The game itself is good but they shot themselves in the foot by focussing on the solo-queue experience rather than emphasising the team aspect.
Many of the issues Overwatch faces stem from the fact that you can't expect six randos to form a team within seconds. And it only gets worse when they have to depend on each other with regard to losing their precious SR.
It's because they started going hard with the whole esports shit.
That started influencing the rest of the game because they were balancing the game for these esports players instead and nerfing characters people liked, and adding charactrers people hate.
The game now has so many shields everywhere, it's fucking crazy.
The games became really one-sided, you were either completely destroying the enemy team or they were completely destroying you.
>infinite ammo
>reliant on cooldown abilities to get kills
This causes hardcounters, in proper shooter like CSGO or even Fortnite, you can solo everyone as long as you're gud.
Remember when this game was supposed to have more story movies and lore and shit?
>frequent updates
Yeah no. The first year was already barebones but the game was fresh so it didn't matter. They put the game on life support after Y1 and they didn't release anything for 3 years. You can blame anything you want about the gameplay but this fucking neglect killed it. And what is crazy it still has a considerable playerbase. Any no Blizzard game would have been long dead after Y1 with this kind of neglect.
>OW2 about to come and go like OW1
We are getting closer to Blizzard dying.
Blizzard died a long time ago.
When you bought a Blizzard game you knew it was gonna be polished and amazing. Blizzard produced amazing lore too.
What the fuck happened?
Lack of meaningful content killed it. People can put up with the bullshit esports and retarded balancing decisions. But you know what they can't put up with? Playing on the same 10 maps for 4 years while they get the same, reused events every year to just grind for skins.
the blizzard everybody loved isn't there anymore for a decade or more
Kill you'reself leaguebabby
>double barrier
>Shitty meme skins that people wouldn't even want to cosplay
>Qp that forces you to carry new players
>Double barrier
>Players that think they need more heals when they are doing next to no damage
>Roadhog running around uncontested, eventually behind a barrier
>Double barriers
>Trying to appease the playerbase by offering every old mode, only furthering infinite queue times
>improve code of Dota
>lol literally removed all wc3 engine mechanics and just made 2d arena, wc2 is better coded than league
>dota2 is atleast well made. lol is literally a fucking internet browser game
Lol was not made for fun it was made to steal dota players for RIOT. The game has been shitshow since beta. I was part of the beta-season1 community
Mercy rework
Turns out when you appeal to e-sports fags and tell casuals to fuck off the general population stops caring about playing the game
The game unironically died instantly as new characters got released.
Removing wc3 mechanics is the only thing moba's needed.
turn times cannot exist in a competitive game lol
>turn times cannot exist in a competitive game lol
why
>Storyline they were making was nonexistent and was just LGBT propaganda
>Pandered to E-Sports and made the game less fun
Hahaha, yes I can see that kind off.
Queue times say otherwise
Brigitte. /thread
for a more in depth explanation from a former masters player, in every single elo that wasn't high diamond and above you were allowed to play whatever you want since most ranks couldn't preform dive which meant you could run whatever 2/2/2 you wanted. but with the release of brigitte she deleted a ton of overall skill from the game and deleted dive and introduced the pubstomp comp "GOATS" which lobotomies could preform.
Go woke go broke
Muh inclusivity, muh no straight white male
Muh no banter or flaming
Then just boring gameplay and bad balance
TF2 is more dead than OW. at least OW has actual content on the horizon and an OW2 beta in a week while TF2 is infested with cheaters and bots which makes the game unplayable during 9pm - 10am
nobody sane play ranked or this game
Because of the nublizz design. They make shallow games.
No depth to the game means its fun for everyone, but it also means that after you put in a few hours you have seen everything the game has to offer. The games are easy to solve, so getting skilled at the game does not feel rewarding either.
I fucking hate Overwatch.
I hate the shallow characters, I hate the battle the developers have with making it not over the top enough or not tame enough because of the eSports scene, I hate that most maps consistent of chokepoints, but I most importantly hate stun abilities.
And yet I keep coming back because it fills a very tiny hole team fortress 2 left. I just want a game like TF2 and I cannot find it.
>muh no straight white male
Race, Sexuality, and Gender don't matter, The game just got stale over time.
>masters
Doesn't really make you an authority lol
You're not entirely wrong but GOATS played at high level (actually high level) was an incredible display of very high level gameplay. Ult tracking, pushes, cool downs, and so on. One misused cooldown could decide an entire fight most of the time.
It wasn't the most incredible showing of mechanical skill, but the levels of cooperation, gamesense, teamwork, communication and coordination required to be successful at the highest level in goats VS goats match-up is unrivalled.
simple: too little balance updates too late when the community desperately needed them.
GOATS was a big factor in my oppinion.
>extremely fun
>very frequents updates, correction, new content
>Very frequent updates constantly nerf every hero
>stops being fun
Many such cases. GAAS is a mistake.
I still remember them nerfing mccree because widowshitters kept getting dabbed on from across the map. And then they nerfed roadhogs because a tank character was too tanky. And then they nerfed bastion because mouthbreathers couldn't figure out how to flank them. As a matter of fact, during all this time, the only fun buff they ever made was making Pharah an actual aerial unit.
>high level gameplay
so is every pro game, user. I much prefer seeing incredible plays like the Eichenwalde Zarya Grav or Flow3r popping off. not a bunch of wet noodle fights back to back with no mechanical skill such as aiming involved.
BIG EGO DETECTED.
Master is one of the top ranks a "normal" person can reach in OW without spending all their time on it. Even just Diamond was about the top 10% of the playerbase.
Completely agree with you on GOATS though, it's just not as flashy as dive for example so in an esports setting it was bound to fail.
>role/hero limits in casual
>repetitive game modes/maps
>retarded balancing attempts
but it was sweaty tryhards in casual which killed the game, casual was where a stable playerbase could have been nurtured and maintained, feeding a constant stream of new players into ranked or the blizzard lootbobx store but instead they let a minority of players who couldn't stand losing in casual dictate how casual should be
>very frequents updates, correction, new content
Lies
The game got like one new map and a new hero every 6 months.
I've played multiplayer games in near maintenance mode with more contend added.
For comparison FF14 gets a 50 hours long expansion every two years and a update every quarter adding new dungeons, new raids, and new side content
>tryhards in casual
don't you try when playing a game? Do you lose on purpose?
I dislike making tryhards the scapegoat because everyone tries to win. It's just others being better than you in your games and that comes down to matchmaking.
>seeing plays
Okay then I don't watch esports or the league really. My post was about actually playing. I very much enjoyed the goats meta while it lasted. That being said I understand why it wouldn't be the most enjoyable thing to watch as a spectator.
And it's not ego, ya dingus. I'm not bashing lower ranks. A diamond player could play goats with his mates all day but wouldn't experience what it's really like at its apex. Your post smells a bit of cope desu
>how the fuck did this game die so fast ?
20+ Useless DPS characters in a ""Team"" game
you dumb dumb
of course you play to win, but people crying about there not being a meta balance of 2 healer 2 dps 2 tank or crying about there being 2 or more of each hero ruined the fun in casual. it's the difference between say, a casual soccer match between friends after drinks and the world cup, you surely understand the difference?
stuff like role queues in casual.. you can't defend that can you? it makes more sense in a tightly controlled competitive setting but for the average casual player just wanting to play ow? it all comes down to the absolute seething imbeciles who couldn't stand losing in a non-competitive match because their team mates wanted to have fun instead of playing to the meta
forcing comp role queue into casual quickplay. Dead as a dog, casuals just want to play their favorite character.
>want to play my character
can't because if I don't follow the exact meta I'll get banned
>want to try out new combos
can't because there is a forced 2/2/2
>want to spaw to a character I'm good with
can't because it had a -2% damage a week ago and playing it is trolling and I'd get reported
there's no point
It didn't die fast at all, what's with this new cope recently?
Tanks were the only fun characters to play honestly
The team based nature of it makes the player feel weak unless they can somehow wrangle some of the worst people together and get them to work together. It's easier to just not play the game. Nobody plays correctly because they can just blame the team if they lose.
