The partner mechanic really has me loving Code Vein when Bloodborne and Nioh both left me simply aggravated.
Seems like a great compromise between the git gud crown and filthy scrubs like myself. Can go solo if you want, but having an AI partner really turns the game into a more enjoyable experience for me.
I would have dropped the game by now with how much haze I would have lost without them.

Yes, it was a very good mechanic. The game is actually very well-balanced around going with or without due to how many enemies they throw at you and how fast and big the weapons are, so combat actually has a lot more variety than the Souls series.

It's a fun game, although there are some fucking awful levels

Its a pretty fun mechanic, that being said I wish they made the other companions more useful, as much as I love Io its strange how the moment you get her you really don't need to swap her out

I've been using her because the game seems to be pushing the narrative that she wants to explore the world with you, but she certainly has been carrying her weight.

Io's really cute so yes, it's a good mechanic.

oh don't get me wrong that was also part of the reason I used her, it was just an added benefit that in terms of what companions offer she is pretty much an excellent all rounder
>good for melee
>good for ranged
>good for support due to her heal

and everyone had their uses except louis who sucks.

Is this figure out yet?
Every time I hear this I know its because she can often be competent enough to deal with most trash enemies by herself, meanwhile for bosses there is jack double damage (this is broken to the point of letting you one shot a lot of bosses) and mia communal spam being ludicrously broken giving you reason to swap her out

No clue, I just wanted a nice image of Mia to throw up. They knew what they were doing throwing her on the promo art.
Louis gave me one handed mastery which I've been using anytime I have an open slot.

Yakumo is honestly just as good, depending on your playstyle. He is worse at healing you, but he draws more aggro. So if you’re a more defensive player, then he’s better than Io.

Also, some builds revolve around Jack’s gift. So there’s that reason.

Aaaaand I beat it. First ever Souls game I've stuck with and beaten.
How is NG+? Something I should come back to later or just knock out now? I see there's 2 other endings.

Attached: 1647192561508.png (1280x720, 880.06K)

I never used the AI and soloed the entire game, but if I do another run I'll take Io with me.

from what I heard not much really changes beyond enemies being harder, if you are interested in an extra challenge might as well give it a try, but if you are just interested in seeing the endings then might as well just look them up online, also congrats on beating the game, which ending did you get

>He doesn't know

you can choose between true NG+ with difficulty increase and all, or you can just run the same difficulty if all you want is alt endings/codes.

Dweller in the Dark, though apparently if you want the all endings achievement you need to do 4 runs because one word in the last cutscene counts as an ending. That's silly.
I'd probably just do same difficulty and bully everything. Mostly just want to get and max all the codes.

>though apparently if you want the all endings achievement you need to do 4 runs
if you know about it beforehand you can squeeze both versions of dwellers into 1 run by doing Io's vestiges after clearing the first time, but good luck figuring that out before it's too late.

Yeah, I figured collecting all the goodies was a... good thing. Silly me.
Really just seems like a bug that they never ironed out.

Jack and Mia are the worst companions in regular gameplay but their communals are phenomenal, while Io and Yakumo are the other way around

It's just Louis and Eva who don't really stand out

if you want to speed up your victory lap(s) a bit and don't mind skipping some stuff, look up early cathedral.

Yeah I like the companions too. When some silly bullshit catches you the companion can bail you out so you can get right back into the game. But sometimes the AI gets caught and dies early so then I have to be in a position to save them or I get mobbed by enemies staggering their attacks. Specifically vs the Invading Executioner I think having a companion can be a detriment. Most of my deaths to wet miku now that I'm experienced in how to deal with her come from her targeting the AI and using her slide when she otherwise wouldn't because I'm in melee range. I think it's a reasonably well balanced mechanic and letting masochists turn it off helps them feel extra special.

NG+ in CV is like NG+7 in Souls. Everything gets a massive boost to stats. The fat ladies have 22k HP, for instance, which is even more than the Nameless King on NG+.
That said, you can choose not to increase the difficulty if you want to get the 3 other endings.

Io is the best.
>cute
>extremely useful in combat
>will almost always revive you if it's off cooldown
>jiggles

>jiggles don't work above 60fps
consolechads... I kneel.

Sequel when?

hopefully someday, definatly has a good formula to work off of, I just wonder if it will be about seeing the outside world a bit or if it will be a new set of charcters exploring other parts of the city

Attached: 1608710023417.png (1000x1414, 2.8M)

Having just finished it, the game's ending does go "yeah it's been a few years" so you could either do a little interquel of sorts, or just let them outside.
They did say the outside world was even more fucked than the Gaol.

The outside is basically just God Eater, so yeah is way, way more fucked, they are heading directly to the maw of an Aragami, taking down 2 or 3 is one thing but the outside is literally infested with them.

Protagonist + maiden and battle buddy is the perfect combo
Mitsubishi was dumb, Melina should have been a cheerful and talkative companion

Trust the plan!
The other 2 endings give more blood codes, then there's tower of trials
Anyway you can start later or go directly, NG+ is everything on steroids, no particular changes

>Soloed Provisional Government
You missed Io's confession, very romantic, in a dungeon of blood and bodies

Attached: Io lines.jpg (1920x2900, 2.61M)

this game had a super low budget and was a HUGE success.
how come they haven't made a sequel yet?

>my throat feels like it's on fire...
Alright, I'm reinstalling.

Attached: coomer.jpg (750x920, 115.22K)

Marriage mechanic when?

Because they released Scarlet Nexus just a year before

You're just a shitter, user.

How come most games miss the point when it comes to vidya girls? We don't want sluts, we want cute and sweet wives

Attached: Code Vein Io and MC.jpg (2149x3035, 946.32K)

And it was SHIT, they wasted their fucking time with that shovelware, they should be working in Code Vein 2 instead.

I liked both
Hope they can refine the combat and especially the level design even more with CV2

For me it's the opposite. I hate AI companions.

how do you improve upon the Souls formula? by adding cute anime girls, absolutely brilliant.

I remember resetera seething over this game selling 1 million copies back when it was first released, good times.

what aren't those faggots angry about, anyway i hope news of a sequel comes soon was pleasantly surprised by it even though i heard the season pass wasn't really worth buying

Playing Nioh at the broken docks right now, makes me nostalgic for Dried Up Trenches

>I remember resetera seething
How would you know, if not actively searching for it, you absolute faggot?

I played the Steam demo and couldn't stand a number of things:

1. Unskippable nonsense like the very slow walking section at the start of the demo when you walk to that blood tree thing
2. The overall pace of the combat is very slow. Because stamina consumed so much, you felt so restricted compared to the previous two games I had played before playing the demo: Dark Souls 3 and Nioh 1. Regardless of what you think of those two games, you can't deny that those games allowed players to do way more actions before their stamina drained compared to Code Vein. Even the animations overall felt slower. Parries and ripostes took forever in terms of letting the animation play.
3. The depth perception felt fucked. The camera was way too low and as a result it made judging depth perception much harder than other games with similar camera systems. I have no idea why games continue to fuck this up when LOZ did it right the first time around and the template is there. Just make it look like pic related when you are locked on so that players can judge depth perception properly.
4. Too many ganksquad encounters for my taste.

>t.rannyera

>The overall pace of the combat is very slow.
Lol

Stamina in Code Vein is literally just basic defensive manuver and ichor drain
You didn't get a solid grasp at CV combat, because it's designed so that you literally never stop attacking

Attached: Code Vein Mido.webm (1280x720, 2.99M)

Regarding the camera, I think Souls-like make it centered and angled downwards so the animations are more readable
Depth perception takes some time, yeah, but when you have so many dofferent animations you want to clesrly see what's going on in the wind up animations first and foremost

>how do you improve vidya
>add cute anime girls
yes

Attached: 1636564015753.webm (1240x700, 3M)

game finally opens up around not anor londo but not anor londo is the worst area by far. too big for its own good.

once you reach around lvl 50 and unlock some of the better blood codes dose the game start to break away from its dark soul larp and you be the one doing the one shoting. even the bosses becomes a joke.

>learn one sword mastery
>become a absolute unit in close combat
>can easily just back off and throw spells at a distant if need be.

how exactly will my playstyle change by end game?

>anime xcom
Neat. Is this the gun waifu gacha? Looks good for a phone game.

Its on PC as well, or well the 2nd game this is from is not out yet

Attached: 1624153319231.webm (1420x800, 2.96M)

Louis is pretty good for early game, but late game Yakumo or Io are a lot more useful.

That’s a good question, actually. Io had everything I would want in a game waifu, and she was my favorite. I beat the game and got the neutral ending, where she stays by your side as a statue while you sleep for eternity. , and was satisfied after that. I want more game waifus like Io. Mitsubishi-san almost had it right with the Firekeeper in Ds3. If she could fight by your side with some healing spells and Black Fire spells she’d be perfect.

>permanent mimic tear
you didn't

Can you please tell me the name of this game? And your short opinion on it, if possible.

Girls Frontline 2
and my opinion is its not out

Thank you. Looked it up and there are seiyuu I really like. But can't find the PC version.

You are not going to find anything its not out, the webms are from the closed beta test some months ago

Yes, sorry for stupidity. Do you think it will be released this year?

Now do Elden Ring + cute anime girls and I'll be happy forever.
