ANOTHER WAVE!

Attached: asuka.jpg (819x1024, 90.61K)

Didn't dedicate enough time to making the player pick up elfroot, shit game.

Never played any past Origins, give me 1 good reason don't say some stupid bitch's name from the game to play a game that, for all I've heard from 90% of people, is a piece of shit wankfest

no one here gives a shit if you play it or not
>trusting Yea Forumseddit opinions
ngmi girl

I miss looking forward to Bioware games.

I've seen like
NO ONE ever play a sword and shield warrior in 2 as their main character (I see people usually have Aveline because she is a way better tank than anyone else)
Is it really THAT shit?

>small brain
>Merril romance
>galaxy brain
>Merril rival

one of the few things that wasn't completely shit about DA2 was having party members being on bad terms with the PC without leaving outright. Except for Anders, fuck Anders.

>single player game
>playing as the tank

holy shit this, imagine unironically asking Yea Forums for advice.

Origins better.

I FUCKING LOVE FENRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attached: 1650595537435.jpg (1309x2000, 457.5K)

You dumbasses should know by now that most of the time, people don't actually even bother playing, it's just to draw information out. Autism speaks

A lot of people gave DA2's ending shit for understandable reasons, but I really liked how character friendships/rivalries played out with everyone in the party potentially choosing different sides of the conflict. Taking into account whether they'd be more sympathetic to mages or templars, how well they get along with Hawke, and whether or not you succeed in talking them down if they don't initially agree with your choice.

Attached: DA2_Bar.jpg (500x342, 134.5K)

I never play as a mage in 2 because all the best party members are mages already

In Dragon Age 2 it is designed to where your companions will always be better

Aveline will always tank better
Anders (disgusting) will always be a superior healer
Sebastian will always be better ranged rogue dps
Isabelle will always be better melee rogue dps
Fenris will always be better at 2h than you
I do not know why they made it this way

She fucks humans only

I forgot to mention one for magic dps but that's because I haven't tested magic damage of a companion vs hawke

Perhaps so that you must consider which role you want to have the least emphasis in your party

Find a better character theme. I'll wait.

I can, on some level, appreciate the level of delusion and general greed.

Attached: 1645669076160.png (812x494, 202.07K)

it isn't a character theme but I really liked this theme
youtube.com/watch?v=qvWijHpEzU0
it stuck out the most in the entire game....even though it is one you hear the most due to party switching

I didn't see any point in rivaling Merrill. The rivalry route seems to be all about telling her off for using the mirror and shit, but the only things that actually go wrong during her story are because her clan are a bunch of paranoid idiots about her. Not because she's a blood mage studying weird artifacts.

Dragon Age 2 has its faults, and they're painfully obvious. But for all of those, I still beat the game multiple times and can look back fondly on my playthroughs.

Inquisition is such fucking garbage that I've attempted to play it three times and never gotten even close to finishing it, let alone the DLC.

Attached: 1644437416752.jpg (1200x675, 483.5K)

Attached: 1621758894754.png (1108x534, 286.9K)

It's funny, DA2 and Inquisition are complete opposites of each other in terms of their flaws.

DA2 was too small and repetitive while Inquisition was too big and empty. But DA2 at least worked within its limitations and clearly rushed development cycle to set up an interesting premise and some fun character dynamics. Inquisition just put most of its efforts into making the world bigger and prettier to the point where there's very little worth finding in it.

So while both were flawed, I still remember a fair amount more key moments from DA2, while the majority of Inquisition just kind of blurs together.

Attached: 1589061658466.jpg (587x800, 326.08K)

Remember the good old days when you could just bully someone out of the industry?

Attached: 1650352695480.png (720x682, 434.56K)

On replaying DA2, I was shocked at all the really bad parts that my memory had just blocked out (holy fuck I got tired of running through the exact same areas of Kirkwall over and over) but I was equally shocked at how good the game still managed to be, despite knowing about the insanely short development time.
The amount of effort and care that was put into that game by BioWare is staggering, considering the fact that EA clearly wanted it to be a cheap cash grab.

Back then that bitch had me seething, I thought she was genuinely retarded to ever suggest an option to skip through games.
But here we are in 2022 with games that have difficulty settings that just play the game for you.
Hamburger Helper won.

Not even Inquisition is that bad.

>cut her head off
>merely a flesh wound
>returns in the next pile of shit game

David Gaider fuming over fans pointing out the inconsistency still makes me hard to this day

>this game is trash
Better than DAI
>the UI is trash
True
>the main character is trash
Nah, Hawke is cool. Although it is gay that they dropped origins.
>the romance options are trash
True because you can’t romance Aveline.
>the story is one of the most dumb things ever created
The story is fine, although its weirdly disjointed.
>the companions are trash
Some are.
>that gay dwarf is trash
Fuck you
>that lesbian stronk wemen is trash
Fuck you
>the only thing good is cute cassandra but they make her look like a ufc fighter on inquisition
Another reason I hate DAI

>She's done more for video games than anyone else!

They deleted the old forums (which I have some fucking stories about how shit Bioware were over there holy shit) but you can still find some remnants here and there.

"Because the option was there as a reaction to your choice to defile the Urn of Sacred Ashes... not as a "you will never have to deal with this character again". We're not saying what happened in that chamber never occurred... in fact, we're not saying anything yet, with regards to Leliana. You're free to make all the assumptions you like, of course, but if what you're insisting on is "I think Xis dead so I should never see them again no matter what"... well, prepare to be disappointed."

It's sad, because I wonder what DA2 could have been like if they had just been given more time in the oven with it.

Kirkwall was a slog to patrol, but with a little more detail they could have had it change more throughout the seasons or based on your choices. Whether it was because a new business you helped start led to new construction projects, a gang you helped stop changed up the enemy variety, or simply because it started snowing and gave the streets a new color palette. It wouldn't have to be a massive difference, but anything to make the city feel a little more varied and alive.

Attached: hightown-concepts art.jpg (1440x823, 328.94K)

>"The operative part of that sentence being "I think they'e dead".

>What happens isn't always going to be what you think should happen. It will, in fact, pretty much always work out the way we think it should-- and that includes bringing characters we like back. For those people who are just going to stamp their feet and insist that it should be what they want instead, I can guarantee that there's no amount of explanation that will convince them it isn't some offense to their idea of how our universe should work... so I'm not about to try here on these forums.

>At any rate, Iassume the original question was answered. I'll leave it at that."

>When writing Dragon Age 2, we weren't aiming to make another generic boring fantasy story that you expect was written by some old white guy.
>That kind of writing is just out of touch with the tastes of most people nowadays.
>What we really wanted to create was a story that'd be an instant sensation, like the works of Rowling and Meyer.
There's so much to unpack here.

It was a wild ride

Attached: 1644020257244.jpg (650x1454, 395.15K)

Really... this one? Well, Hawke's armor and sword-staff design were cool I guess, although you needed the pre-order to be able to use it.

Any version you can get these days has all the DLC and preorder shit.
In DA2 it's almost a problem, because they made so fucking many DLC items for that game that you can absolutely flood your inventory with them.

alright be honest guys.
would you rather:
A) Bioware still develops games even if they are poorly managed and fuck up with shit like or
B) Current Year Bioware where they only do SWTOR updates and basically don't even exist otherwise.

Attached: 1480036321867.jpg (800x550, 104.05K)

>don't even exist otherwise
This.

Attached: 1643015265975.jpg (1024x1024, 271.03K)

Seething.

the changes to how influence/favor worked were interesting, got away from the rpg thing of just telling every character what they wanted to hear a bit

I'd rather see the whole studio go up in flames and end up in a series of public mental breakdowns for which they will be hounded even more relentlessly.

leliana never drew a single dime, why does she keep coming back? is she just a dev's waifu?

Just let it be the SWTOR company, that game at least has amusing storylines.

>the mirror literally has a demon in it waiting to bodyjack merril the second she fixes it

Don't fuck with Elven scrying shit. This is fantasy survival 101, you fool of a Took.

never forget

Attached: ZeusThunder.png (935x495, 52.83K)

Gayoware games are shit

>tall elf
>TALL ELF
>same voice as my homeboy Balthier
>sick ass tattoos
>sick as greatsword
>his introduction is probably the single best animated scene in DAII

Goddamnit am I actually going to replay this trainwreck just to interact with two fictional elves and a dwarf?

>is she just a dev's waifu?
Wouldn't surprise me. There's a sect of Leliana fans for sure but I don't think she's THAT popular with the fans as to warrant a canonical and undisputed appearance regardless of you chopping her head off

Companion reputation system was better than DA:O's. Probably the only thing people can nigh-univerdally agree upon.
I liked the focus on smaller, more localized disasters compared to DA:O. It felt more personal and impactful to grow from a refugee shmuck people wouldn't even spare the saliva to spit on, to a highly influential political figure in the city. And it felt "earned", you know? Not some kinda Chosen One hogwash, though I think DA:O subverted that quite well too.
I liked the portrayal of the Qunari a good bit. The only thing that ruined it was the Arishok spiteully and pathetically mumbling "We will be back" like a cartoon villain instead of dying with honor that he deserved.
Some of the combat with just a little bit better. Staff animations were quite fun, especially when the mage switches to melee. Greatsword animations were goofy, but still leaps and bounds above DA:O where it takes like a billion years to take a swing at anything. The combo system emphasised teamplay, while in DA:O combos were practically "Look at all this cool shit mages can do".
Everything else sucked shit compared to DA:O though.

Atleast you can effectively complete DA2 multiple times..

Yes
