Look at the generic designs and ask again

At least there aren't a fucking ice cream cone or some shit…

>Required internet connection
>Devs obsessed with the tryhard crowd
>Devs who think they are hot shit and act hostile towards their own customers

Basically can be boiled down to the devs think they are hot shit and act abrasive about it

>took many of the existing problems of P*kem*n and amplified them
>tacked on MMO bullshit

lole @ adults who can't handle one monster design in a kid's game and are still complaining about it ten years later

>One design
Yeah, because the gears, the keychain, the sandcastle, the chandelier, and the literal bag of garbage aren't also commonly complained about, it's JUST the ice cream cone people hate.

Half of those are cool, you just have shit taste
They are also memorable, compared to literally anything in temtem

It's the most generic-looking and low-energy of all the Pokemon ripoffs. Nexomon or Monster Sanctuary have a lot more going for them than "w-well at least we're online!'

all of those are cool except the keychain

Pokemon games are shit so if you copy them you get a shit game, and since you aren't called Pokemon you don't have millions of drones to pretend they aren't

Wow who, would have thought that Pokémon without the nostalgia was fucking horrible

They/Them Pussy

Trubbish's design is worthy of being another franchise's main character mascot, it is perfect. Real shame about Garbodor's pom-pom pigtails though.

Bad designs, both the player characters and lots of the mons just look fucking bad. This is the main reason why pokemon is afloat besides from its branding
Also is pretty much a service game

That's actually the problem with the designs, though.
Pokemon has interesting designs because they're not constrained by some half-assed realism.
You have pokemon that look like normal animals or people, sure. But you also have pokemon that are just orbs with magnets on them, or pokemon that are just eggs with faces, or pokemon that are just a star with a pile of ooze.
Temtem does not have this variety.

Another form of variety it lacks is in terms of cute/cool contrast. Pokemon and Digimon, you have monsters that look like cute little cuddly critters, and monsters that look like spikey dangerous murder machines. Everything in Temtem just sort of looks like a plush doll.

The feeling I get from the Klefki design is that they wanted a steel/fairy dual type pokemon for game mechanic reasons and worked backwards from there with someone thinking "uh maybe fairies steal peoples keys?"
maybe I'm wrong but the design just feels sort of unnatural and forced

That's not the problem though, because temtem doesn't even do the specific aesthetic it's aiming for well
It's just shitty art design that has low appeal, user

>"uh maybe fairies steal peoples keys?"
They do, though

I never played it, but it seemed like they learned from all the worst aspects of Pokemon. Sanitized child-friendly designed, boring square worlds and the disaster that was their breeding system. Breeding is an interesting way of getting new moves onto mons, but only degenerate fucking freaks actually enjoy biking back and forth hatching eggs

>wants to be a Pokemon killer
>plays almost one for one like a Pokemon game but without the IP propping it up
2v2 battles were pretty fun but everything outside of the actual combat was barebones and not really engaging. Evolutions were boring too

Gotta love how the devs act as if they are so friendly and inclusive by including a pronouns option and making your rival use they/them, but the Exp Share item is called "Coward's Cloak" and they brag about how much they ban people and their ban-bots that they were forced to rescind on after backlash pointed out it was banning innocent people.

Costs more than $10. Way more.
Other than that I don't know because I won't fucking play it

Personally, I never gave it a chance because I never saw a cool monster that made me go "gonna play this game to own that!" and that has to be some kind of achievement, because even clover with it's mememon had monsters that made me want to play it. Hearing that the game is online and grindy just further made me not play it.

I only played for a total of like 10 hours. It seemed that the “real” game was the end game and I was cool with that, but the random battles and storyline required too much effort for what was effectively a tutorial. I get that they didn’t want it to be so easy that you didn’t have to be invested at all, but the battle system is simultaneously too complicated and too shallow to be enjoyable to play against the computer. On top of that, it feels bad to walk around and see designs you think look cool and that you want to play with, only to google it and find out that specific mon is about 20-30 hours of gameplay away.

Monster Sanctuary is great because it's genuinely different from Pokemon. The way the game shifts from "Attack its weak point!" to "Apply buffs, debuffs, with a carpet bombing of passive skills!".
Plus, Monster Sanctuary actually has some challenge to it.

Is that.... a pink-furred fox-woman with wings?

And people thought Lopunny was furbait

It's a "mmo"

it was only being shilled because of salty dexit trannies

people were unironically saying
>it's good pokemon will have some competition
as it ever had a chance of fucking competing

Funnily, the head developer's wife designed it

I was suckered into backing it because of Nintendo fanboys on a Nintendo forum making that same "competition for Pokemon" argument, I was very skeptical about it at first. This was even long before any of the tranny shit was revealed. Pretty much never touched my copy.

Nothing.
Pokemonfags complain when the game is too similar to Pokemon but then they turn around and bitch when it's too different.
You literally cannot win.

I tried looking it up:

>Sutsune was designed and created by the wife of the head developer, because she thought (rightfully so) that a kitsune succubus would be a cool concept for a Monster for his game.

>Sutsune are beautiful, elegant, and deadly female vulpine demons. According to ancient stories, Sutsune are able to transform into common foxes or young women; only upon closer inspection one might spot some deformities such as horns hidden underneath the hair or fur. Often, however, it was already too late at that point, since the Sutsune had already snuck in close enough to fulfil her nefarious plan. A Sutsune is said to be as likely to kill as she is to enthrall a man's heart so as to subjugate him for her purposes.

.... his wife is a furry isn't she?

I've only played one pokemon game, and that was over a decade ago, but can still remember the names and designs of pokemon even from games I haven't played. I don't know why, but I played through all of temtem when it came out and cannot remember a single monster.

People who played pokemon as children literally(literally) have a section of brain matter dedicated to remembering them
Though even as an adult, it's just because the designs are very well done and inherently memorable

The Pokemon formula needed a little bit of reworking and polishing of existing elements, with the bigger issue being they needed to freshen up the structure of overbearing linearity, simplicity and lazy world design.

Temtem thought it could reinvent the wheel and dug elbow deep into the obsessive lame shit of the mechanical systems alongside being pointlessly online and an early access game desperately trying to hook people disappointed with Sword and Shield. At the end of the day even though Pokemon was losing sight of what the series needed to be, the Temtem devs actually were even LESS aware of what direction things actually needed to go. Nobody wants this type of game.

>Pokemon clone in a world where Pokemon still sells like hotcakes
It's like making an MMORPG when WoW and FF14 still exists.

Temtem is honestly not that bad and has a lot of good points but there's no reason to play it over Pokemon.
As somebody who actually played it monster variety is AWFUL though, especially early on there are fuck all monsters on any given route.

Now that would just be stupid

Who the fuck is complaining about Chandelure? Both it and Litwick are unironically some of my favorites and I'm pretty certain Chandelure is actually pretty goddamn popular.

When is this shit coming out of early access? It's been like 3 years.

made all the problems pokemon had worse
Coromon is better because it amplifies all the good that pokemon had for a wide range of its fans and the devs aren't batshit insane

Attached: coromon.jpg (616x353, 126.21K)

although I think its pixel art is far better than the promotional art

Attached: coromon_pixelart.jpg (1120x640, 124.5K)

Daily reminder that they announced they're ending support for it even though it's still in early access.

Monster Sanctuary>Coromon>>>>>>>TheyThem

Not ending support just not making new monsters or islands. Which is functional death buuut whatever

Same shit. They marketed this game as an MMO and now they're pulling back on that promise because they're cucks.

It's not out.

Attached: Screenshot_490.png (955x759, 699.46K)

Never, they made no money so they gave up

The game is functionally released, it's not going to get some new influx of players on "actual release"

Probably more likely she's a weeb who heard of the kitsune myths, but also maybe

They just released a new update today. The next update will be 1.0. I'm guessing it comes out late 2022/early 2023 based on how slow they are?

The point is that it's not out. I dont play or judge unreleased games.

This game is literally tranny shit for cucks.

I'm waiting for monster sanctuary's new dlc.

I want to make a monster catcher. Well it's actually based off more on a mobile game (monster legends) but any advice? :)

What happened to that meme Pokemon like game with slaves and guns?

Designs are boring
TheyThem

For some reason Poke clones just don't have designs that work. They go too simplistic or,,, I don't even know.

Quite frankly, I think instead of going for pokemon they should try for a 90's digimon aesthetic.

Never understood the hate for the icecream.

Pixel art is pretty good but I am not loving the designs of the creatures in it.

so they copied pokemon and caught a copyright claim?

they/them

The undeniable answer I have yet to see in this thread is that none of the temtem monsters are fuckable. I'm not even a furry and even I'd let a Lucario knot me, but there aren't any fuckable monsters in TemTem.

There is a lot of "Pokemon Clones"So no?

Attached: Screenshot_491.png (611x536, 364.55K)

>EVs and IVs
What the FUCK were they thinking

Buffs and debuffs near the end get a little ridiculous, every action applies like 10 different things. It's pretty good overall though
