The only time it was ever worth it was GBA to GBA SP. Finally having a backlight and a chargable battery was a huge deal.

If I enjoy something enough I'm willing to throw more money at it to get something a bit more special. the GBA SP is my favorite handheld of all time yet I only had the basic shit, so now I have a modded Zelda edition with an Everdrive and I'm happy as fuck, I've used it more than my damn Switch at this point.

Nice, I had to recase my gba sp because there was a bad batch of pearl blue ones with really brittle plastic.
Of course, mine was one of them. It fell less than 4ft onto a rug and just shattered.
