I couldn't be assed to care about Guilty Gear's story after anime White House Down. Daisuke spent like two fuckin decades buiding up the final fight between Sol Badguy and That Man only for That Man to deus ex machina most of Sol's gear cells away and suddenly they don't have to fight anymore. Strive's gameplay is a dumpster fire and so is its story.

Xrd was never a headlining game at any fighting game major and Strive is headlining literally all of them.

all you have to do is look at tournament attendance and steam charts numbers, strive is way way bigger than any of the previous entries.

I played Bedman in Xrd and 6 months ago I'd have been really excited for this but I've tried to like every other Strive DLC character and haven't enjoyed a single one yet, can't say I'm particularly hopeful.
