Yeah I liked soaring. It let me free up another HM from my team, and I love flying around a world map. It reminds me of some older RPGs like Tales of the Abyss/Vesperia.

I like mega evolutions, Dexnav, amie+training, Hoenn's region in general and all the redesigns were a straight improvement (minus the main characters, they look stupid now).
The art style is the "sweet spot" for me, just chibi and stylized enough. Delta episode was really cool too, and the credits showing you defeating each gym leader and your pokemon you used to do it as well as the post-credits scene were really appreciated nice little touches.
Mirage islands and secret bases were expanded wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed going to a ton of strange secret bases every day, seeing how people laid theirs out and designing mine.
I wish they included more furniture and base shapes though.

Overall, it's the pokemon with the least amounts of flaws, improved on games I already loved to begin with, and I never felt the exclusion of the frontier to be a huge loss since I never liked the frontier to begin with.

I can't talk about the battle frontier because i never used it to begin with, but a lot of people wanted that.
It still has hms, the gen 6 graphics were fucking abhorrent too. I'd say gen 7 nailed the stylized chibi art while oras looked like an abomination.

You know in previous pokemon games you could use your money to customize your clubhouses, pokeballs, contest items, etc. Gen 5 was the best thing to happen to TMs since they made them items worth exploring for.

If I have a favorite pokemon I have every right to transfer it over to current gen

That's a strange and illogical conclusion to come to. Are the newer games better? No. They've continued to be disappointing with each game after ORAS.
I'm not retarded enough to dismiss any and all improvements made in newer games (the removal of the circles of land under pokemon in battle, changing of HMs to key items/rideable pokemon was much appreciated) but I am speaking generally.
