It is kind of depressing that this is one of the only games I've played that has a steady flow of content.

I actually preferred building, the issue was they need to change some of the underlying mechanics around building (which is probably what they're doing now), like stopping you from re-building on the same "square" for a second or two after your last one is destroyed, make metal more worthwhile as a mat, because as it stands, you still never build anything but wood. 5 years of that shit lmao.
That and shotguns are STILL the end all be all when building is around.
Such tiny balance things that could very easily be adjusted that they won't.

The map changes, they rotate weapons, and there's always different game modes to play with some made by other people. I mean if you liked surf in Counter-Strike you'll find that kind of stuff in Fortnite. There's all kinds of shit like fishing and skiing.

Every 3 or so weeks they update the map and add/remove a weapon or new NPC or mechanic
Say what you will about Fortnite but they offer consistent gameplay changes all for absolutely free, thats pretty cool

What skin do you really want user? If youre anal about it you can always lookup the current store on fnbr dot com and know when to start playing and giving them sheckels

Fishing makes any game better.

They also run a season system that lasts around 2.5 months each where they introduce drastic changes of the afforementioned kind, usually adding some breakthrough new mechanic and vehicles to spicen things up

Fishing isn't that deep, you cast a line, bobber moves and you fish up either a fish that replenishes hp/shield or a weapon. But it's funny, there's a spear gun you can use on players to pull them towards you. You can use car mods like tires as a trampoline or the plow as cover, you can put remote bombs on a car and drive it into people and blow it up. No build has exposed a lot of legit strategies.

It's also why camping at high up unbreakable places like the airships is what literally everyone does in every match

Yeah but the explosion is so small on top of only wooden structures igniting when they're so few around the map, it's not worth to lug it around.
The only thing worthwhile I did with a gas tank was thrown it on the top of a trunk of a nearly busted car with cow mangler, when there was an autist in one of those wooden towers which I'm pretty sure was aimbotting the fuck out of, and drove into it and watched him nearly destroy it and manage to land a bullet on the gasoline as the car flew and the gas can fucking blew midair near his face.
Shit had fire everywhere and dunno if it was fall damage, the explosion or just the fire but he absolutely ate shit by the fire surrounding him

I've been playing, and while there is some skill required, it seems pretty easy. I was never great with building but it added depth to the game. This game in it's curent state feels kind of mindless.

Yeah, it needs to be buffed to contend with the other shottys for this season
