based, I love them all. Except that fez fag

All made for BHC

Baba isn't the protagonist, she is simply a vassal for You, just like every other object in the game.

No dubs, but something better

Quirky Earthbound-inspired RPG with allegory about depression and LGBT themes

Yes, she. Baba is a Ewe, that's the entire pun of the title of the game. A ewe is a female sheep.

describes literally none of the games in op, congrats.

Baba Is You
Baba Is Ewe
Ewe (yoo): a female sheep.

>character is easy to animate and keep track of on screen
I don't blame them.

Honestly, it does work well. Having a simple fella as the protagonist is pretty charming.
Needs more stubble.

What is their obsession with not having humans?

That's Gomez, the protagonist of hit indie title Fez.

Do you have a problem with whyte people, sir?

>minimalism is... LE BAD!

I like ori because looks dead inside

Harder to draw and humans aren't cute, dummy.

no the other guy with the hat thats labled hat

What's your obsession with having humans? Theres about a billion more games that cater to you than not.

Animating humans tends to be more complex, and people do tend to be interested more by humanoid/animal/???? characters.
A good human character is harder to do than a simple non-human one in most cases.

Slug cat is asking for savage breedings

Humans are generally more complicated and harder to make out what they're doing. It's also harder to make one with an iconic look.
I suspect that nowadays there's also an element of not wanting to get caught up in representation bullshit.

Chad top row vs virgin lower row.
But The Drifter is the best mute protaganist

yeah
its trite and corporate

>this is what at best the majority of zoomers grew up with
Not that those games are bad, but where's the variety? At least 4 of those are platforming.
Humans take a lot of effort to draw, but cartoony artstyles are far simpler to draw and also remain aesthetically pleasing. With humans there's not just higher art skill requirements but also more effort required to draw them without them looking terrible, since people have specific parts of the brain meant to discern humans far more than any other animal.

a cute artsy/chibi character tends to convey an air of fantasy or silly fun in a way that a legitimate human character doesn't. Its also easier to animate something that doesn't really look human because we'll recognize little strangenesses in human behavior and motion which we will let slide in non-humans

Poyo!

False, sometimes non human character are even harder to animate because can have tails, wings and other stuff

wow he's literally me

No one will remember your generic blobs fondly.

unlike famously not corporate gritty realism

I think they mean "animate well". Like, you can have a creature with way more joints to animate, but you have a lot looser constraints on what movements look "normal". A human not animated with great care will appear uncanny and offputting or look goofy in a way that you have a lot more leeway to avoid with a nonhuman

Stone Ocean, the Netflix adaptation

>conkers bad fur day
>sam and max
>parappa the rappa
Hollow Knight will be remembered longer than these

You couldn't have removed the Fez guy instead of the Downwell protag? That one's actually a good game.

And it's not like otherwise human characters can't have stuff like wings or tails too. An angel character is going to bring with it all the issues of a human character plus the wings.

everyone already forgot about the bug
not only is it a boring deadpan design but the game itself also has boring deadpan design

Mario is an human and looks goofy

Mario and other "human" characters like him are very stylized, so much so they don't carry the same problems when it comes to doing normal humans.

Unironically who cares, one day i will die anyway and everyone will forget about me

Based; Who?; Based; Based
Who?; Who?; Based; Who?

>team cherry silent for years at this point
>people still psychotic about silksong
The bug is not forgotten.

Top middle left is the slugcat from rain world. I don't the other three either.

What "people"? No one I knows talks about it, the game had no lasting power at all.

But when you have to animate realistic animals or realistic fantasy creatures like dragons you have the same problem

>more than half of these are dead and gone and literal whos to zoomers
>the only ones remembered are with companies who give a little damn with deep pockets.

game?

better then over designed generic AAA trash

Game.

I mean yeah, I guess so, but humans are particularly hard for a lot of people, because we humans are very good at telling what's a person and we tend to carry bad ideas concerning how a human should look like symbol drawing and the like. Plus the human body is just kinda weird. Beasts, even the realistic ones, allow for some leeway, at least in only allowing the person a "clearer" mind on doing it.

still see multiple steam frens booting HK and I keep thinking of going back to play the Gods dlc. But i guess I just burned out from doing the no death 100% chievo and now it's too far back in my todo list
66hrs for that price and not having to worry about paying more dlcs is a steal

Crystal Dynamics please hire me.

Would you play his game?

Wow, what did the rabbit do to you?

For me, it's Noshka

Attached: noshka.jpg (212x237, 9.26K)

If you're going full blown realism it's going to be a bitch to animate anyway. But there is a space between so stylized as to almost be abstract and proper realism where human characters can already start slipping in to uncanny territory while non-human designs of the same quality don't.
You're also hyperfixating on just the part about people picking up on strangeness in the animation. The other important factor is just simple ease of animation.

Jenny Jeungman.

So you're implying you just don't talk to anyone then? Cause people I know still talk about Silksong

Far cry new dawn, that other RPG that's coming out I forget the name of, watchdogs something

So it's not a game

Attached: 1650026165268.jpg (305x301, 10.28K)

I should clarify that I do not consider transsexuals to be people.

I'd play Gun Lad's game
I don't have a picture of him but imagine white Kirby with a gun

You talking shit about BABA?

Attached: JPEG IS BABA.jpg (480x480, 10.87K)

>Player is 90% likely to be a straight white male
>Straight white males are (were) the majority in the game's country of sale
>Make the PC a straight white male as this is what he'll be easily able to self-insert as, shifting focus of player identity to actual gameplay
Problem?

AAA studios uses motion capture anyway, things you can't do with complicated creatures, but yeah maybe if you want specific animation for realistic human characters that you can't find in any animation library can be a problem but indie very rarely uses realistic looking humans

God I wish I knew how to model and rig said models in Blender
Want to take some concept art of Dark Samus from Prime 2 and make some cool shit out of it but every time I turn on Blender my brain fucking deactivates and I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing
