Beat Saber is good, but only really shines with modded in songs. The base selection and all the DLC is really lacking.
Saints & Sinners has a few weird hitching problems on quest 2 and obviously looks like ass, but it's a fun enough game.

it looks really basic to me (compared to other vr games like saints and sinners, blade and sorcery, even pavlov) but I only hear good things about it, the only RE game I really loved was 7.

i think in general the Quest 2 is the best option right now, there are more expensive options that are better, but theres just not enough good VR games so you just sit there with expensive hardware going "i need to justify this purchase!!"

Nta but with beatsaber there’s a mod you sideload and it has a browser to download custom songs people upload. Makes it 100x better. The base playlist is shit.

Some things to get are a plush face guard with the nose covers (prevents lense fog which is crucial) and a long USBC cable to charge while you play. That’s all I really need/would recommend. I don’t mind the head strap and don’t care about battery packs cause playing for more than 2 hours is enough already.

Also with a 1050ti, ryzen 5, and like 16gb ram I was able to play Skyrim VR and phantasmaphobia. Not the prettiest experiences but still worth it and playable

It's a gimmick. I knew it'd likely be a waste of money and I still feel retarded for buying it. A few games are novel, but it's overall a piece of shit with 15 minute battery. Also, if you wear glasses, don't think about buying it.

it's an amazing piece of tech. I doubt I'll ever use it as much as a regular console or PC, but it's absolutely worth it even if you just use it a few times a month.

if you gave a good PC, VAM is the most insane porn game on earth. it's straight up wish fulfillment and with mods you can cater to literally any fetish you can think of. (if you know where to look)

besides that absolute system seller, the games are fine and usually really short. but vr is truly unique and cool, and that alone is a reason to get a vr headset. quest because it's cheap as he'll.

also you never have to pay for a game since you can pirate every game. (if you know where to look)

I only hate it when they kiss the lense because they don't realize that would mean getting kissed in the eye. watching movies in is one of the most criminally underrated things about vr IMO. I use bigscreen, it lets you put any video file onto a theater-sized screen. If I can't go to a theater to watch something, then this is my second choice. Its fucking magical seeing the theater lights dim and having everything illuminated by the colors of the movie on the screen. If you have good headphones this is basically a movie theater experience except you don't have to deal with loud people or expensive popcorn; theres a multiplayer/renting function too but I don't use it, I just use it as a video player

its like you just accept the gameworld for what it is with a vr set on, and the graphics dont make that much of a difference. vtol vr for instance looks ridiculous in screenshots, but I dont think anyone notices that when playing. re4 looks totally fine, sometimes kind of nice even

I have kind of shitty internet and don't like cables (but a good enough pc to play vr games), so I've tried to keep stuff on the quest as much as possible. You might have better success with airlink/vd than I do though.
I usually end up just transferring the file from my pc to the headset, then watching it sitting down on my bed or something. I have the 64gb model so its kind of inconvenient to have to mange space but its never too crazy unless I have like, a 3 hour long 1080p movie that isn't compressed well.
I've never actually tried the steam/pc version of bigscreen; theres also desktop streaming built in to bigscreen but it sounds kind of janky in concept so I never tried it

Warhammer 40k Battle Sister was probably the best shooter campaign I played because even as a casual 40k nerd it was fun revving a chainsword, having space marines tower over me or slicing chaos cultists yelling "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" as they approach, but the last level and the final boss were legendarily bad.

yeah I think sword/melee combat works decently in vr, but for actual fists alone, the feedback of the impact is such a big part of the feeling of it that it just feels like you're miming or shadowboxing.
You might get a decent workout out of it but just getting a bag might be better if you really want something like that

It's pretty neat, but I should probably use it more often. I think the main problem with VR is that it's inherently not as comfortable as regular gaming and can often be inferior. Sometimes I just don't feel like wearing a headset and moving around a lot. It's cool right now, but it's not gonna be truly revolutionary until we get to sci fi levels where it's a lightweight visor that can scan ultra realistic graphics directly onto your retinas
also the VR porn is kinda disappointing, at least if you're not paying for it. It's cool at first, but the resolution needs to be pretty high in order for it to not look like a blurry mess. NTA but you need the mods they used for objects in the scene just like you would for the clothes/mods on a character card. Any character in a scene will be included but once again if they required mods you'd need them too.

Worst case you can just replace their possibly broken character with your own or ignore any missing props. Making your own scenes with the CharaStudio is pretty easy and you might want to do that anyway because complex scenes like the ones people share are very performance heavy in VR.
Also If you like H-MMD videos there's a plugin that lets you use MMD motions in the studio so you can have private dances using any of your character cards.

There's an inbuilt browser and you can use incognito mode. Spankbang's got a lot of free shit, just search up VR and make sure you filter by 4K

I don't think VR is necessarily for everyone, just go for settings which can reduce motion sickness

get your sealegs, I got real bad motion sickness at first but after just keep trying and trying I could play for longer and longer without feeling ill. Now I don't feel it at all. Some games are worse than others of course, so just gradually get into it slowly

what game? generally, smooth motion will filter most players and you should be using dash or teleport movement
i've been using my quest 2 (mostly beat saber, to be fair) for a year and i still can't handle smooth movement

if you have a shitty headset like an old secondhand wmr, maybe upgrade to a quest 2, or at least an hp reverb to rule out crappy hardware. Make sure you stay hydrated, and that the room you're playing in isn't too hot.
otherwise just keep at it, afaik you need to just teach your body that you aren't about to die whenever you put on the headset. I think the rule is to stop right as you start to feel nauseous.
