Elden Ring Lore

It's okay when Ranni turned Godwyn into THIS.

Ranni didn't turn Godwyn into that, the Space Parasite Ranni wants to defeat and free the world from did.

i never quite understood what i was lookin at here. he's gained a tail, a third eye, while his head turned upside down-ish, and his mouth turned into flap things. uhh. seems about right, i guess...

his soul is dead it's not like he cares anymore

Why she big?

Attached: giant_woman[1].png (901x731, 997.27K)

Is this the one in Deathroot? I spent 5 minutes looking at it and still didn't understand what the fuck was that.
Also why is there another "face" under Stormveil?

That's the result of Elden HGH not being inhibited by Godwyn's soul.
They should have killed his body instead of burying him "alive" if they wanted to make sure this didn't happen.
Curious to see how he will look in the DLC and don't say he won't be in the DLC, the whole of Fia's questline is DLC bait.

Man he got fucked right up, didn't he? Get your soul killed and turn into this weirdy fishy cancer.

I wonder what Tanith thought of her husband's work at first.

>ACK!

Yes, fuck Golden Jesus and his order

Behold. Fishboy.

Attached: fuck.jpg (500x322, 50.98K)

His corpse is still "alive", only his soul is dead, so through foul Ranni magicks it is corrupting the Erdtree and causing his likeness to appear everywhere

src: prince of death talismans

That's Godwyn. After his soul was killed, his living body was buried next to the ErdTree and somehow ended up in the Depths near where the Crucible used to be causing him to mutate and get all sorts of fish traits, kind of like the Misbegotten on steroids.

His body propagatea through the trees because he's a demigod which is why there's Deathroot everywhere. The face under StormVeil was some sort of Godwyn cancer that traveled through the roots and may have been cultivated by Godrick

I once saw an user also posting a crab that had Godwyn's face btw

Someone explain why Godwyn became crammed with seafood after his soul died? For example, he suddenly grows a fish tail, his head turns into a large clam shell, and all his hair becomes seaweed.

serosh is not "grafted" to godfrey, he is just getting a piggy back ride as a ghost

Attached: floatyboy.png (1434x1208, 2.63M)

The infection from the corpse is spreading. It made the face appear under Stormveil on the tree’s roots. You can see Godwyn’s face on a bunch of places, including on the flesh of malformed crabs.

hes part mushroom(parasite on the tree), humanoid(his body) and fish (crucible juice).

Ranni has nothing to do with the infection spreading. That the corpse does on its own.

Explain this then?

Attached: who.jpg (1920x2154, 911.11K)

Somewhere in the game it says they laid him to rest at the roots of the erdtree. My running theory is that he slowly got corrupted after having is soul die and his immortal body over time has begun to merge with the tree and the weird shit in stormviel is his parasitic body merging with erdtree roots spreading out all over the lands between. Why he looks like a weird fish-man? Who the fuck knows but Miquella and Melania also have weird scaly skin too.

>Godwyn: Friend of God, Germanic origin
>Miquella: The one who passes the message of God, Catalan origin
>Marika: Of the Sea or Bitter, Polish origin
>Ranni: English version of the sanskrit Rani, which means queen or female ruler

Golden Order's Golden Rule #1: If she is cute, it's OK.

His body is still an empyrean right? That's why it's mutating so much, he's the host of Death. Just like Malenia being the host of rots turns her into a rotten mess.

I wonder if putting the unnaloyed needle in Godwyn's corpse would stop TWLID

body couldn't die right so the vessel got reborned without the soul intact. It grew into a cancerous fish thing because thematically it represents him moving down the evolutionary ladder cause he couldn't die as a man.

>sanskrit name
>blue skin
>extra arms
She's a pooinloo

I don't think Godwyn was an empyrean.
Only Ranni, Miquella & Malenia were empyeans.

he is controlling him like a marrionette, as a reverse Stand

Yeah you know she just used the death rune to kill his soul and caused the whole thing, whoopsie poopsie

The bottom is the original. It spreads like a cancer through the Erdtree and grows out of spots filled with death like in Stormveil. You can see his face grow on Crabs near pools with a lot of Skeletons nearby

HOLD ME BACK BRO, HOLD ME BACK

>he suddenly grows a fish tail
but user...

you never see godwyn's legs...

Thanks. I understand from in-game items that only his soul died contrary to Ranni whose only body died. I went and check the story trailer and it seems there was actually some sort of parasite or whatnot inside him after he died. Still, that's some creepy mutation.

He's body has turned cancerous, it's infected the Erdtree and is using it's roots to spread out, his body isn't dead only his soul so it's still alive and constantly growing.

Godwyn is literally Dagon.

Attached: Dagon.png (843x652, 205.3K)

My feeling is that this was a fetish mandate from Miyazaki and the code monkeys just had to cram her in however they could

If his body is alive, do you think he's still conscious on some level?

Attached: 1635110316426.jpg (469x469, 28.09K)

What, do that nose looking thing isnt actually it's nose? ive been looking at it the wrong way around this whole time?

probably

>god all that Albinauric torture is so hot

No his soul is dead. Half the curse mark killed Ranni's body and left her soul alive, half killed Godwyn's soul but left his body alive.

Serosh was created by Marika because Hoarah fucks too rough

His soul was killed, so I assume he's completely catatonic, kind of like being in a coma

His soul is gone. He is as dead as dead can be. His body is like a mold, living but not sentient in any capacity.

he’s a vegetable. the body lives but he’s no longer there.

I can't get over what a pointless evil retard D is/are. Hey guess what I've found the very source of Deathroot and worked out why it's happening, this should be the greatest breakthrough Golden Order fundamentalism has ever had, you want to do anything about it? No? Just going to brood and brood and die and brood some more and then get impotently enraged and die again? No higher aspiration than killing Boat Man five times? What a piece of shit. Literally unkillable too, if you happen to find the Gurranq portal on your own you will literally never be able to attack them until the very end.

>deathbirds are responsible for death pre erdtree
>godwyn grow fish like
Hmmmm coincidence? I think not

Yes.
Gods: bourgeoisie
Fuck them.

STANDO POWAAAAAAH

They are Golden Order fanatics because twinned people were marginalized by everyone but the Golden Order (makes sense since the goddess seems to be a twinned person herself). He's collecting the Deathroot to have Maliketh seal Destined Death again (key part of the Golden Order), and he also found and guarded Godfrey's cursemark until Fia killed him for it.

So this game really is just Miyazaki's ultimate fetish buffet, isn't it?

I always assumed he was the Poseidon of the demigod pantheon, and always had the tail. As for the rest, living Death is a hell of a drug.

big babe = bigger feet
its basic science

>this game
>implying

Attached: demons-souls-maiden-in-black.gif (498x474, 2.07M)

where the fuck do you even find this? i went to deeproot depths and never saw this shit

Feet have always been a staple but it was generally much more subdued. Now it feels like they just went all out

>the vaccine is saf-

First down and then time for seed.

I'm not sure how exactly discovering the root cause of TWLID is supposed to be a break through for GO Fundamentalism, not that he or the hunters in general are very good fundamentalists what with getting high off the Order's perfection like the believers of old Marika had wanted to move past, and forgetting the very foundation of their belief system

You never tried walking up the roots?

It's in a boss room, user.

you fucked up then, really hard to miss as the area itself is quite small.

I think there's a more interesting reading, if you look at the exclusion of death from the golden order (the religion and state), Godwyn and those who live in death are othered by the powerful, and this othering is what the law of society is built around. There's some fascism shit going on, if you want to go there. And the removal of omens from society is also pretty important to that reading.

which boss? the named crucible knight?

Why didn't Ranni try to stop Iji from committing suicide by fingers?

he's a skeleton

To be honest, Ranni's ending is probably the best for the world. Setting aside the fact that the game is loosely unfinished and somewhat inconsistent...

From what we can piece together, the Greater Will/Golden Order essentially established control by recklessly subduing or dominating whoever was in the Lands Between before them. The Greater Will's mental domination isn't absolute, in so much as it can influence someone's purpose or direction. At some point the Nox figured this out, hence the tinfoil hats and puppets, but still got clapped. The GW was weaker in the past, hence Rogier mentioning the Order actually used magic and whats now 'blasphemy'.

The GW:
>Used Godfrey to subdue the land but weren't categorically sure they could subdue him
>Genocided giants because of their fire affinity, possible risk to the Erdtree
>Erdtree inserted itself as cycle of rebirth, uprooting the primordial Crucible or what was before
>Carian magic niggas see through the stars and shit, so they're harder to control...how about we sue for peace and breed them
>We will get a Literal Who from our ranks to do it.
>We got the Carian Queen under our thumb, time to get back to business in the capitol since that Marika cunt is getting uppity, and Godfrey is harder to control now that he's bored
>We will use our Literal Who puppet to do it
>They're birthing creatures outside our Erdtree system, time to weed them out...omenkillers.
>the weak ones, misbegotten, we use them as slaves
>Kick Godfrey out
>Breed Marika so her kids are easier to control

In the end, there's a lot of meddling and recklessness in the GW's choices. Ranni at some point put these together. She had to discard her body to retain full autonomy from the GW, and the only way to do it was to make it panic by getting Godwyn killed as a diversion. Why Godwyn? not really elaborated or important. Tinfoil hats galore

I find it interesting that Misbegotten mourn in the capital and pray to Marika

Thanks for reading my blog

Good morning Rannifags

is the collector's edition worth it?

He's turning into various sea life, either because it's the base form of life and without a soul his body is trying to regenerate without a blueprint, or possibly whatever outer god is influencing his soulless body is connected to the sea.

Fia's Twitch Mods.

Do you just never check your map or something?

Attached: 1632500129277.png (888x670, 1.04M)

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm also going to give Fia my strength to fuck Godwyn's corpse and birth a rune that I will take care of after I become Elden Lord.

How did she know it was going to happen.

>Painter loli is the god that influenced the demon pedo goatman

You don't remove ghost piggyback riders by physically ripping them out of your back.

Attached: Serosh rip.webm (854x480, 2.95M)

Nice. Now google Shabriri

because he is her friend

>possibly whatever outer god is influencing his soulless body is connected to the sea.
Nah, I doubt it, it's probably because he's so close to the Crucible so naturally he takes on more primitive, primordial features

Kind of a bad example since the lower third of the map is completely inaccesible

Wonder how shit would have went down if it had played out the other way around.

wait, if Maliketh holds the rune of death, how come you still respawn after being killed by him?

ACK gone wrong.

JESUS SPOILER THAT SHIT

The fish part is likely something Godwyn grafted onto himself before dying, akin to Godrick/Godefroy grafting people/dragon parts to themselves and whatever the hell Serosh's deal with Godfrey was. Notice we never see his bottom half anywhere in the trailer/cutscenes.

It's pretty clear that's supposed to be the Erdtree, what with the massive trunk and all. Meanwhile, the top part is just another water basin and there's no discernible reason why you shouldn't be able to go there

Not really. It's a rather linear level.

Hunter D found Godwyn's cursemark, that's why Fia kills him to reclaim it. Call him an overzealous retard if you like but the man does his job.

I'm big into the GW mind control theories. I believe Radagon was created by Marika to cut off the part of her brain that was getting mindraped by the GW. Not too fond of the fusion theory.

>Why Godwyn? not really elaborated or important.

Probably because he was the favorite and center of attention of the GW

retard alert, hes just mutating into some weird bullshit

Actually Marika's name comes from the Spanish word for faggot. It's foreshadowing for the Radagon reveal

>duplicate file
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT
good job

>She had to discard her body to retain full autonomy from the GW, and the only way to do it was to make it panic by getting Godwyn killed as a diversion. Why Godwyn?
There's no proof Ranni had Godwyn killed, it's much more likely the Black Knives/Godskins killed him for their own reasons and Ranni merely accepted that as collateral damage of her plan

Huh. You came from the main general as well? Based.

Godwyn wasn’t even the only one killed. It’s said countless other demigods were killed during the night
