so i actually like mbt a lot but this is probably the worst thought out deck list i've ever seen lol

he literally put 3 hand traps in a deck designed to blind second, and not even a very sizeable Kaiju engine. not even the RIGHT kaijus, either, he needed the wind one. were those Dark Holes absolutely necessary? he bricked on too many board wipes every game and i don't think he even wiped the backrow once with the dusters that were glued to his hand. mystic mine also seems kind of fucking pointless when you're not even packing a good trap lineup for stockpiling purposes.

anyways the point of the post is: if war rock is "not as bad as people claimed" even running a list as horrible as this, pre-LIOV when its card count literally doubled, does that mean that the deck is like, rogue playable if you actually build it right? i only ask because every other unplayed archetype I've played lately has turned out to be a crazy anti-meta pick.

How would you guys improve a weaker archetype that you like while still keeping it on flavor / not meta-dominant.

I would love to see Naturia get:
1. A new field spell that offers protection, like once per turn if an effect would destroy a Naturia monster(s) they are not destroyed.
2. A level one or two tuner that can summon itself if you control a naturia monster (might need to xenolock to only Naturia Synchros).
3. A monster or two in the main deck that can bring itself back in any way.

For toons I just wish they had a chance to not instantly lose when Kingdom is removed.
I want a spell that says:
If you control a "Toon World" or a "Toon" monster: Target one of your banished cards; add it to your hand or deck. If this card is in the GY and your "Toon World" leaves the field by an opponent's card effect banish this card; your "Toon" monsters cannot be destroyed for the rest of this turn. If this card is sent to the graveyard by a "Toon" card, draw one card.

So essentially it'd just be a way of either unscrewing yourself over when Kingdom banishes important shit, or getting a little more fuel for Toon Dark Magician while also hopefully giving you one turn to recover after your Kingdom is outed. I can't imagine you'd want to run more than 1 of them since Toons are already so bricky, and it'd just be something you search out before using Dark Magician's search.

I think toons just need another good toon monster. A lot of their cards are overtooned (lol) because of the toon world thing so if they kept the weakness but got a strong monster it would be more on theme.

The current monsters are good... Or they would be if Red-eyes+DMG+BLS didn't add up to EXACTLY 7900 DAMAGE
It's incredibly common to summon red-eyes turn one who then summons out DMG who then has to choose between either putting up Toon Terror to protect your field spell, or summoning a third monster to pray that they don't remove your shit and you can use him to summon BLS turn 3 and kill them.
If there were a toon monster that had an omni-negate then that'd go really far towards making them good, even if it just had 100 attack 0 def, but I doubt we're getting a main deck Toon Baronne De Fleur any time soon. Fuck it, just make it "Toon Ghost Girls", and have the art be all the hand trap ghost girls having a tea party or something, and let it send itself from the field to graveyard to negate anything, so there's just a CHANCE you can attack for lethal turn 3 with that setup.

What if you could just outright OTK? Would that be that bad? I think that direction is better than adding an extra turn where youd have to protect your field spell. I dont play toons (you can probably tell) but I really like how they can use support from other archetypes like being able to use black stone. I think if they got the ability to OTK or if they got a monster that gave them access to good support from another archetype that would be cool.

There's a good chance it'd go bad. When toons get set up they are essentially a weird solitaire deck. Anything that isn't going to send their field spell/banish/shuffle/negate it, or isn't going to non-target non-destroy remove multiple of their monsters can just be ignored.
Oh, you summoned 3 monsters on turn 2 with 4k attack that are immune to card effects, and have quick effect monster destruction? OK, cool well enjoy hitting my defense position monsters that can't be destroyed. Next turn I'll put them in attack position, and attack you directly, then if you didn't lose you'll just have to punch my Toon Red-Eyes with them dealing only 1600 damage to me with each of them, and I'll finish you off next turn.

I like toons, but I understand why Konami is afraid of making them even decent.

That sounds fine to me honestly. I think if a deck gets full combo and their opponent cant get an out through hand traps or an answer by any means the next turn (like Knightmare Phoenix) they should win.

OK, but what about "Toon Tooner"? It's a tuner monster with the effect that any monster summoned using it as a material cannot attack the turn they're summoned, can attack directly under Toon World, and is treated as a "Toon" monster. The art could be the monster from Mimicat, or a retrain of Dark Rabbit/Funny Rabbit.
Knightmare Phoenix is only half of an out since Toon Bookmark is almost always in the graveyard, after being searched for by Table of Contents, or Toon Dark Magician. And it will be back up next turn thanks to Toon Dark Magician, unless you get really unlucky and have no toon cards.

I hate Prank Kids so much, the boss monster is so damn ugly (which is a shame because it's nice in the unpossessed version on other prank kids cards) and they just never die. I'm not sure what actually beats them.

prank kid cartoon like art filters a lot of people that simply prefer the menacing/waifu looks of other decks (at least in md) so people encounter it much less
also as a pk player even if when i speedrun the most basic combo i can it takes a while due to all the chain animations and shit which tires even myself
