QRD on this game? Is it just a GTA clone?

Guns become progressively more common the further you get in the game. It's a shame since given the Hong Kong setting, firearms should be an extremely notable and deadly rarity.

In the beginning, that is what I thought they were going for. Fast forward 10 hours and I'm shooting 30~ gunmen down in the sewers. I think they should have kept guns far more scarce the entire game to give it real impact when you did use them.

Honestly, I rented this year's ago and I loved every minute. I ended up getting the definitive edition a while back and it's one of the few games I would actually go out of my way to replay.

Should square have recycled this game like yakuza is? No but this definitely deserved another game and they were stupid for not giving it one.

The only thing I disliked was the map itself. There's only so much you can do when there's only one highway in the entire game.
But everything else was great. My favorite part was jumping from one car to another.
Also, Jackie didin't deserve it.

The series has potential, but Square Enix being a big corporation will only focus on popular titles.

Man, I got this game for free and everyone is saying that it's great but I just don't like the genre. I'll maybe try it if I have nothing else to play some day.

Yakuza but you can actually murder people

It's a GTA clone with Arkham combat but they like throwing you into gunfights fairly often. It's great, and I'm a person who doesn't really like GTA. The DLC was also a lot of fun, one of them is a Jiangshi one with zombie fights while another is a stereotypical karate flick one that's funny.

It's kind of overrated imo, the good elements of the game, the more dynamic open world hijinx it inherited from true crime have barely any overlap with the majority of the content which is getting locked into arenas for batman arkham knock off combat.

I loved the fact that guns were rare. i miss games where guns or ammo are a luxury.

Even if the rest of the game was a 10/10, Wei would still bring it down to being trash. He is without a doubt one of the worst MC's in modern gaming. It's astounding how they managed to fuck up something that's been done successfully for decades.

not sure if I feel that strongly about it but I remember being miffed at how self righteous and indignant he'd come off in cut-scenes when he was a blatant dirty cop slumming with gangsters.

That was the whole point of his arc though, he isnt self righteous and he has a soft spot for the gangs, the whole game is him just realizing he's more of a triad than a cop, and he goes on a citywide rampage just murdering the shit out of everyone
What I never got is how they assigned him to the case in the first place when it was clear he had very strong emotional attachments to the triads.

I'll never forget I went through the trouble of buying the most stylish, high end suit possible. I take one step out of the shop and that faggot says that shit. I beat him to death without hesitation.

Fuck no. Its system might have more stuff but it's unbalanced as fucking hell, with half of the styles being gimmicky garbage and the other half also being garbage except for one string which is so OP you just spam it and stunlock the entire planet.

Sleeping Dogs' combat is much simpler, sure, but at least it's an actual videogame instead of some janky mess

First played the game on PS3 with a copy borrowed from my friend and then bought it during Steam sales years later. God I wish there was an option to change input displays to PS like newer games have.

The only thing I didn't like was how the story started really strong and serious, and then veered off into epic cliches that made it feel like a flick instead of a kino, know what im sayin
