Glover Steam Just Dropped

store.steampowered.com/app/1257880/Glover/

Glover Port just dropped on Steam
Costs a hefty 20 dollars
It better be a good port, if it's just emulation that's such a rip
I'm not risking my money to find out.

Clearly, care was taken with this port

thanks for beta testing n64fags

This'll go down like a lead balloon

on what planet would someone pay $20 to play this? I remember playing this as a kid but even then, anyone who wanted to go back to this game has already emulated this right??

STOP
gog.com/game/glover

>Minimum:
>OS: Windows 10
>Processor: Core 2 duo / Celeron + or better
>Memory: 2 GB RAM
>Graphics: OpenGL 3.2+ support and 64-bit OS
>Storage: 256 MB available space
This is too fucking funny. 64bit OS required with 2GB of RAM for a fucking n64 game you could have emulated back in early 2000

>redone from the original source code
What's the actual result though? Usually they would tell all about the new framerate and resolution

Where's the download? I'm not supporting Piko

it's funny but to be honest who the fuck has a 32 bit OS anymore. I don't even know where the fuck those are even used actually. maybe like chromebooks or something

Yeah, definitely. It's more probable that the minimum specs are like that because that's the lowest spec machine those guys had to test the build with.

$20 for a piece of shit game. I get it when it's 5 bucks

GLOVER GODS, WHERE WE AT?

Glover was so trippy

It wasn't as good as I remember, honestly the only thing it has going for it are the dreamlike aesthetics.

>bleem
It's definitely emulation. I looked this up when it was first announced and from what I remember reading, any of Piko's games with Bleem attached to it are outright emulated.

> Changing FPS etc
After installation go to:

C:\users\youruser\AppData\Roaming\Piko Interactive\Gloveropen config.ini

With a word editor

On Framerate you can change to the following settings:
0 = Like N64 (most stable and recommended)
1 = Always 30 (slight graphic wonkyness we still plan to adjust/fix)
2 = Always 60 (more graphic/physics wonkyness)

There may or may not be goodies on the directory files. I've said too much...

PSone version added, it is the second launch option on the play pop up menu. For some reason Steam has not identified each launch option with its description lately. Opened up a ticket for it.

Enjoy

Classic

Probably wrapping it in some other engine before throwing it to an emulator, similar to how Quake's "remaster" puts it's menus into a shitty new engine before dumping you into the Q1 engine.

>20 fucking dollary-doos

Jesus tittyfucking CHRIST...

Why are you poor

Nigger, this fucking thing should be $5 TOPS. It's just a ROM rip, not even a fucking remaster...

Cool, still not buying it.

i am not dropping $24 for fucking glover.

the devs are faggots

Attached: siwjHVp.png (625x818, 98.7K)

It's actually a port, not an emulated ROM.

It's a source port

that is waaay to relaxing for a game about a magic glove

Don't care. Not worth $20. $5 MAYBE, not 20.

This guy buys Night dive ports at full price

Have to agree with the devs given the context here. You literally can't make everyone happy, someone will find a reason to bitch about something. If given the choice of pissing someone off or pissing someone off is there a choice really? The devs did good by making the game objectively the best it can be given the subjective shitters don't even matter in this case. Daggerfall on Unity vs the raw DoS is another great example. Like sure you can have the original preserved but it would be nice to have a playable fun version as well. If people wanted the original that badly then they would just play the original. They can dump their own rom. No one is obligated to kiss their ass when they do so little themselves. It only take one person to do something great but endless bitching never achieves anything.

"devs" are clearly ITT

So it being a ROM or not actually had zero bearing on what you consider to be an appropriate price for the game?

what you said is perfectly reasonable, they aren't obligated to provide the original game
but that's not what they're saying. Saying "some games shouldn't be preserved" is a fucking joke

Hey devs, remaster a good game instead of fucking glover if you want sales

Don't try to gloat about "preservation" if you don't want it to bite you in the ass, plain and simple. The devs are in the wrong for opening their stupid mouths first.

is daggerfall unity complete yet?

$6.99 would be my limit

>Innovative duo of Glover and ball
>Clever themed puzzles that require the use of both glove and ball
>Inspiring power-ups! Change the form of the glove and the property of the ball

hahahaha sounds great. I played this as a child and it scared me

>>OS: Windows 10
Windows 7 bros...

>shill detected

Glover panders to N64 kids that like posting 'comfy' gifs same with Kirby 64, Mischief Makers and Majora's Mask

It's feature complete.
But still getting updates for bug fixes and any optional quality of life features.
It's the best way to play Daggerfall, unless you're a purist upset that some character exploits were patched

Something something NFT reeeeee

I still have my N64 cart of this
It's an interesting game but I would be hard pressed to call it a 'good' game.

This

>It's an interesting game but I would be hard pressed to call it a 'good' game.
thats the case for most n64 games

>It's an interesting game but I would be hard pressed to call it a 'good' game.

Yeah, it's the sort of thing that comes off as infinitely charming until you actually sit down to play it.

I had this game gifted to me by my step brother
i loved played it
then my step dad smashed it with a hammer

I love those webms and gifs where he's just sitting near void or water, he looks so peaceful It makes me happy

Fair enough.

Extremely playable compare to the OG though some of the QoL might piss off some purists. Being able to choose your own quest is nice but I can see why that might upset people who honestly want it to be as random as the real deal.

Dev psyop activity ITT

so what has actually been improved in this port
is it widescreen? does it run at 60fps?
this thread and the steam page itself isn't telling me shit

sex with gloves

N64 had some of the most nostalgic music.
youtube.com/watch?v=d31bPH7PyLI

Please do not give those Piko fags any money

Widescreen support and 30fps.
Think you can toggle up to 60 fps but that causes physic which they say they're trying to work on, but who knows

You’re the faggot. The devs are right.

>Bleem!
haha what the hell

Attached: 57b.jpg (600x707, 32.34K)

What QoL are we talking about here?

hahaha oh my god

thank you, i'm not fond of that price but it seems like a good port

Its Glover, so nobody needs to worry about it making money.

Not him, but the top of my head its:
>Clicking to attack instead of waggling the mouse
>Make the 1st dungeon optional
>improved wall climbing
>Instant item repair
>Picking guild quest from a list instead of being random
>Enhanced enemy ai
>Locations marked on a quest can instantly be checked on the map
>Switching the stamina and health colors (Health to red and stamina to green like what most people are used to)
>More graphical options
>an experimental feature that trims on size of the dungeons(This is only accessed by an ini file at the moment)
And that all I can recall, and there's probably more. These options are also mostly optional too

Attached: Liche_%28Daggerfall%29.gif (360x450, 45.6K)

I agree with the devs though... Emulation will always be there but options are good because a lot of games don't emulate very well.

Wasn't their plan to release this, then get to work finishing and releasing the unfinished Glover 2?
