Fuck the dlc

>beat bloodborne
>it was ehh
>"oh, you NEED to play the dlc. it's actually a bad game bro. you played a bad game. when we talk about bloodborne we really mean the DLC. the DLC is so much better."
>try dlc
it's shit. not that it's bad but it's overhyped. the enemies are ok but nothing that crazy. the area looks the exact fucking same. level design is straight lines as usual. but honestly I stopped at ludwig. I was pretty hyped for this fight because I heard the theme before. I thought the boss would be fun. it's another animal like monstrosity too big to fit in the camera type ordeal. just stopped playing. no I didn't beat him first try. but im tired of these bosses and want to do something better. why are all the bosses like this? almost every boss in this game is the exact same. it doesn't even fit into anything the game has to offer. it's just r1 spamming a big enemy you can barely fit into your screen. really dumb.

It's always been sony propaganda.

>he stopped at ludwig the accursed and never saw ludwig the holy blade

but the grey and blurry 15fps atmosphere bro its sooooo goooood BatChest

The base game and the DLC are both good, it's just that the DLC has some of the best bosses the game has to offer. If you didn't really like the base game, you obviously won't like more of the same.

i played the base game today for the first time, for about 30 minutes. it's kind of jarring because it feels like the game expects you to move fast, but it feels sluggish at the same time. is this just something you get used to? i really want to like this game. i enjoyed ds1 and elden ring.

>OP gets filtered then comes to Yea Forums to cope with being garbage
many such cases

i beat the game.

Yeah it's a big problem imo. Partially it's because it's locked at 30FPS with dips, but that's not the only reason. It's also because they decided to give it the same level of input buffering as Dark Souls when the game is so much faster. It feels like shit, it feels like the game is dropping inputs but it's really just fucking buffering them too early. No nigger if I press the parry button I want to parry not do the R1 I queued up 3 million years ago
PC mods could fix this

Are you talking about the input lag that like 2x as high as souls games on PC or the actual movement speed of your character? Because if it's the former, you eventually get used to it, I did at least. If it's the latter, I can assure you, the hunter is quick enough to handle anything the game can throw at you, as long as you have the capacity and willingness to keep playing the game.

>gets absolutely filtered by the real game
lol.
maybe DS3 is more your speed buddy.

thanks bros, yeah it must be the input lag + buffering (and the 30fps doesn't help). was holding out for a PC release but thought fuck it and picked it up on sale on ps4. ill try to push through

You made the extremely dire mistake of shitting on Yea Forums's lovechild, show some respect for the best game ever made next time.

Friendly reminder that only ADHD faggots love Bloodborne and they usually have the worst takes in the Souls franchises

Let me guess... Dark Souls 3 is your favorite...

what is it with you fags and dark souls 3? it doesn't even make sense because ds3 is the closest to bloodborne than any other souls game. sounds like you're projecting

Hello Yea Forumseddit

Post your favorite game.

spbp, op btfo'd

You beat queen of pthumeru? Moon presence?

>it's just r1 spamming a big enemy you can barely fit into your screen.
no wonder you couldn't beat Ludwig if your strategy is just "R1 spam"

also you never even got through the introduction area, which is the only part that is "recycled", everything after Ludwig is new, you cucked yourself out of seeing it with your lack of skill and shitty attitude

yet another case of a Yea Forumsirgin going "I'm bad at the game, therefore the game is bad!"
every single day reddit is utterly fucking mogging Yea Forums in gaming skill and it's sad

Here you go user, this one is just for you

Attached: url(24).jpg (1200x630, 454.74K)

i beat the game in like 15 hours. losing to one boss in new game plus does not mean I got "filtered". If we're gonna pretend like the average player is going through the dlc in new game plus and not losing to a boss a single time on average then I know you are beyond reason

why are bloodborne apologists so insecure about ds3? are they afraid to admit all the things they hate about ds3 were derived from bb?

ds3 is just reskined bb with worse combat

>he started the dlc in ng+
>and then quit at the first boss
>the first phase of the first boss, no less

Attached: 1620028957850.jpg (311x311, 24.44K)

It's soulless unironically

>he started the dlc in ng+
>and then quit at the first boss
>the first phase of the first boss, no less

Attached: 1650397376607.jpg (457x560, 27.02K)

>you didn't beat the same game more than once just to play a different part of it? git gud

>Straight line
>Research hall
Obviously never actually played the DLC I see.

its more that you are pathetic overleveled and still gave up

>Overleveled
No such thing in Souls games

There's three endings, retard. That's three chances to go into the DLC without monumentally fucking it up like you somehow did.

I played the game. told the guy to fuck off. fought him. instantly cutscene straight into new game plus. explain to me what I should have done differently

If you had explored around instead of following a guide to rush through the shortest route of the game, you might have known.

You don't get to rate a game if you did not finish it

>filtered by Ludwig
lmao faggot

>no explanation
figures
>its because you followed a guide, that's why you don't know
nigga what. what is this logic. I didnt use a guide. clearly. if I did I wouldn't have this problem.

shut up twat

Everyone who fought Moon Presence used a guide. Admit it.

>everything bad
>the voice in my head sounds like a retard
wow powerful.

Attached: 1272982718979.jpg (1154x865, 66.06K)

The thing they fucked up is that they didn't apply chalice dungeons to the other games and expand on their development.

You didn't even fight the final boss and you're complaining this much about the game? Exactly how much of the game's content did you miss?

>durrr you didnt fight these 2 bosses that somehow make this mediocre game into an amazing game

>2 bosses
Did you do any of Cainhurst?
Did you do any of Upper Cathedral Ward?
Did you do the Nightmare Frontier?
You obviously didn't do the Moon Presence.
Did you even touch the Chalice Dungeons where like 60% of all the enemies in the games are?
You couldn't even beat Ludwig so you missed a minimum of four other bosses and a bunch of NPC hunters that are pretty rough.

still no explanation

My second playthrough took me like 6hours. I bet you wasted more time on Yea Forums yesterday.

Bloodborne has a beautiful art direction, captivating atmosphere, really good level design, great music but none of that takes away from the fact that the combat system is shallow and boring, and unfortunately Bloodborne is a very combat focused game so it greatly impacts your enjoyment of the game overall.

get some taste

I personally don't like combat systems with a lot of depth. I know it's very rewarding and fun once you git gud and practiced dozens of combos to execute them perfectly, but I just wanna wield a cool weapon and face a boss that requires fast but easy reactions to counter whatever he may throw at me. It's the same reason why I like monster hunter so much.

All the "cool" weapons mean nothing if all you're going to do is spam r1 and occasionally dodge. They are cool visually I guess but not substantively. To each his own though.

We both know there's more to it than spamming R1 and occasionally dodging. This isn't DS1 with passive poise. You always have to look at the boss, recognize the next attack in a split second, dodge at the right time and then decide how much time you have for attacking. Spamming R1 is the quickest way back to the bonfire/lamp/buddha/grace. They're very simplistic in that they require very few inputs to succeed, but they still require a level of precision that can't be downplayed. That's what's fun about it for me.

Cool story, bro.

>silence
As expected

Not him. Moon presence is fair enough but queen of pthumeru literally requires you spending like 10h in the dungeons alone (unless there's a quicker way if you pay for online, which fuck that) and is not even a kino bossfight.

Rom
Celestial Emissary
Witches of Hemwick
One Reborn
Micolash
Laurence
Living Failures
Maneater Boar
Merciless Watcher
Silver Beast
Beast-possessed soul

Kindly remove Bloodborne's balls out of your mouth if you actually consider any of the above good bosses.

As for the quality of the rest of the game, I don't think it's a stretch to say that it drastically drops off beyond Amelia/Cathedral Ward.

The Forbidden Woods are a meandering trek of protracted mud paths and sodden ravines. The level incorporating multiple shortcuts across a large vertical scale really doesn't make up for how monotonously drab it all is, and how stultifying it can be to run through on subsequential playthroughs. Or just on run-backs to the shadows.
Byrgenwerth is preposterously small, short, and underutilised for the area that essentially functions as the narrative crucible for the games human factions
Yahar'gul is overridden with insufferably tedious enemy mechanics on top of reused enemy designs
The Nightmare Frontier feels like a fascinating vestige of something completely abandoned during development, and then slapped in because they had nowhere else to put it
The Nightmare of Mensis is striking and haunting to explore, but still rife with odd design decisions like the reused second-half enemies and the aggravatingly cramped winter lantern detour
UCW is more wasted potential, and outside of the boss arenas, it's basically just a single hall with more reused enemies. You should have been able to explore the clocktower in the base game here.
Cainhurst captivates you masterfully as a forbidding gothic castle haunted by spectres, but the enemies are damage-sponges, and the run back is among the series very worst. Honestly, the entire thing feels similarly underutilised to several of the other late-game areas.

In terms of BB's setting, I think the game titillates you with tastefully subtle eldritch shit, but there's never much payoff for it outside of a few instances like the altar of despair and the Moon Presence. People glorify the twist after Rom, but what does it even amount to outside of the Amygdalas and a few pretty skyboxes?
Mensis verges into warped fantasy-gothic territory, but that's about it for well thought out crazy digressions until the DLC.
When taking the DLC into account, which is a clever microcosm of Bloodborne's story played backwards like an unfolding mystery, it becomes even clearer that the game itself is far too reliant on the Old Hunters, and bares all the narrative scars for it.
The entirety of the subterranean labyrinth, the pthumerian's, Yharnam, and Cainhurst feel like tragically unfinished aspects of the lore - with too much of it squeezed down into the meat-grinder of the arduously boring chalice dungeons.

I have a few gripes with several minor game design issues as well:
Two insufferably long loading screens being required for travel between areas/changing runes/buying shit etc. every single time
Similarly, no way of resetting areas without initiating double loading screens, especially early on without the Bold Hunters Mark
Pretty atrocious performance in general
Blood-vials are unequivocally inferior to checkpoint replenishing health systems
Chromatic aberration can be nauseating at points
The NPC's are noticeably scarce, and the world feels exceedingly vacant as a consequence

>he quit before getting ludwig to 2nd phase
man... you suck ass.

>You always have to look at the boss, recognize the next attack in a split second, dodge at the right time and then decide how much time you have for attacking.
You just described Dark Souls. What are you talking about?
Boss attacks, you time your dodge and during their recovery you attack. Rinse and repeat. This is simplistic gameplay which would have been fine if Bloodborne hadn't focused on it too much.

yea what the fuck where they thinking with the hunter's mark.
>use it 95% of the time when you need to go back to do something
>loading screen
>loading screen
>do thing
>loading screen
it's retarded

I was specifically singling out DS1, because you can equip heavy armor and a shield to just ignore most boss mechanics and spam R1 to win.
If it's not clear, I like the combat in all the souls games and offshoots by from.
