basically it's a nuclear arms race between MS and Sony. They're buying up all the major 3rd parties, but allowing them to continue publishing games multiplatform. The idea is that if each side holds a bunch of publishers/games "hostage" then this prevents the other side from making the subsidiaries exclusive, because then it would trigger the other side to go exclusive as well, and that would be less profitable for both sides.

speaking from my experience with friends younger siblings and kids younger than me in school, no that's not the case. Anyone above grade school almost immediately pivots to begging their parents to build them a gaming PC unless they go the Nintendo route. Only kids who get xboxes or playstations get it exclusively for madden, and they are quickly becoming the minority as even normies have turned on recent sports game rehashes to a degree.

I should clarify that some of my experience comes from working at a gamestop too. Outside of grown ass men preordering madden and people scrounging for dualshocks after breaking theirs in madden induced rage most of the traffic was either for nintendo stuff or steam cards. Kids specifically would often come in and ask if I could get them a specific game and I would have to tell them it was only out on PC.

it can vary by general wealth and the type of kid, I'm mainly talking about kids who are interested in playing video games. I'd say that category has shrunk a bit (not by much) and migrated much more heavily towards PC and nintendo. Sure kids do a lot on their phones but it's mainly a convenience thing during their day to day. When they get home most of them pivot to the desktop (or razor laptop in a lot of cases for actual kids). People just see them in public with their phones much more often than they see them in their rooms on their desktops, and that's not even mentioning the ones you never see cause they're locked in their rooms on their PCs lol.

From Kadokawas perspective it makes no sense to sell Fromsoft to Sony especially after Elden Rings sales and it doing absurd numbers on PC.
Fromsoft just made too much money with their latest game to be sold off so suddenly. At most they will likely strike a deal to collaborate with sony to make a couple of games but even then their latest game showed multiplat makes more money. Sony itself can't even afford to buy Kadokawa and I don't see any deal happening where they can somehow convince Kadokawa to give them Fromsoft.

This would never happen since Nintendo would never buy them. They haven't even bought Gamefreak and they basically make games for Nintendo exclusively anyway. Also the only thing SEGA has that Nintendo would've even benefit from for their audience is Sonic. They won't make a new F-Zero even if they have SEGA right there. They'd be better buying off Capcom since they'd get Resident Evil, Megaman, and the Viewtiful Joe license. That might actually be enough for Suda to try to make another game by partnering with Nintendo to get another Killer 7 like game since they had no problem funding Bayonetta 2 (back when Iwata was still alive anyway). They could even merge Power Stone with a new Smash Bros or something and it would probably work. Legitimately I feel like SEGA makes the most sense with Microsoft and Square Enix makes the most sense for Sony.
