a simple question for those filtered by Morrowind, why can't you figure out how to create a good character, what has happened for you to not understand math?

yea people are filtered by not knowing math bro it's not like they were filtered by swinging their sword into a guy and it not doing any damage until they swing 5 times

literally because you cannot 1+1, it's the only reason your sword isn't making contact

nigga it's been explained to you a million times in different threads that nobody is ''''filtered''' by the rpg mechanics, it's not fucking quantum physics my dude

the combat is just plain bad, simple as, doesn't matter if you build a good character or not, it sucks dick either way

>math
Soulless zoomie, you're not supposed to minmax you RPG characters, you're supposed to roleplay a character. That being said, Morrowind does a great job accommodating for all kinds of characters

it does matter if you build a good character, because it sets the course for the rest of the game. if you get bucked off the horse it's because you're not very good at basic mathematics.

Yeah, so what, it's an RPG. Combat in VTMB is bad too, just move past it

got destroyed by this boss called cliff racer

>make a character with 1 in 5 chance of hitting
>wtf I swung 5 times to hit once
Yep you can't do math.

is it so hard to understand some people want fun gameplay?

you have to be able to do basic arithmetic, the fun comes after you create a usable character

>wtf my guys sword literally goes through another guy and does no damage
yea im thinking its just stupid and bad game design

>his character has low skill in short blade
>his character uses the shitty dagger you get at the start
>is suprised he can't hit things

Morrowind is an RPG first. You are missing because you have a shit weapon and shit stats. The combat is based on dice rolls. You increase your chance to hit based on your gear and skill. Even if you don't understand maths at all you can understand that big number equals better.

You are saying you never made it past the first area. You were filtered. This is not hard to understand. Crackhead Cosades gives you enough gold to buy a better weapon or spell and you instantly notice the difference. This is in the first half an hour of play. You didn't even play for ten minutes before giving up.

im not playing a game where your sword goes through a guy and it does no damage. it's just dumb. crazy enough no other rpg that I even know of does this. isn't that crazy? I wonder why no other games copied morrowind, even further elder scrolls games. truly a conondrum

Just assume the other guy dodged it. It's not like Skyrim combat where they just let themselves get wailed on is any more realistic.

okay let's say I make an useable character, which is no rocket science. now where does the fun come from? the shitty combat where all you do is stand still next to an opponent and press M1 till it dies?

the only reason you would even be prefaced with missing is because you cannot math

It's an RPG. Not an action game. If your adhd ridden zoomer brain can't understand that click = dice roll + skill + item you don't like RPGs. It doesn't get simpler from here. Bioware and Bethesda lied to you. You don't like Morrowind and should stop playing.

Attached: 1645624635192.jpg (552x382, 18.53K)

well games shouldn't cater to those who cannot even fucking mathematics

the fun in combat comes from the miscellaneous things you do to enhance the experience, create some potions, cast a spell, use charges on your equipment, really get in there and PLAY

embarrassing thread.

The fun comes from the freedom in how you build your character, the quests and writing, and immersing yourself into tbe world. You are too autistic to understand this.

how bout this bros, now think hard about this. what if, maybe, if the entire combat is dice rolls where you are missing a large amount of the time, especially early on, they just make another animation that's a miss instead of having your sword cut through the other guy? wow, wouldn't that be better? instead of the same single attack animation for the entire game, they just made one more? or that would somehow make it bad right? because then you couldnt use your imagination that a guy is dodging it? you guys make the weirdest arguments to defend games. there's a reason why no other game I can think of has this problem and no other game copied it.

>Morrowind is an RPG first.
Too bad it has almost nothing to spend your money on, and not that many C&C.

I am begging you. Zoom zoom. Stop playing RPGs and go back to Fortnite. When you tap the shoot button awesome things happen that amuse your tiny adhd med ridden mind. You will enjoy it more. And also stop posting here. I'm okay with you doing that before or after you kill yourself.

Does anyone use the different directional attacks? I really can't see the reason you wouldn't just use your most damaging one

>what if they more animated bruh
well yes, but it isn't obviously
so,

Combat is a vital feature for any RPG.

reddit loves morrowind more than here

i can do all those things in oblivion and skyrim too, and it looks way flashier. at least they incentivize experimenting w/ other builds unlike morrowind where you can kill anything just by going melee.

ah so the fun comes from ignoring the combat and focusing on the strong points, which is..... exploring a completely static world with copy pasted NPCs and the worst dialogue system ever invented. no thanks.

a good character doesn't make the gameplay fun
and no, being a godmode mage isn't fun either

So is leveling and yet your prefer Skyrim. Curious

>oblivion
now that's a game with hardly any redeeming qualities, sure the music is good, and the guild quests are cool, but beyond that i've never been a huge fan of it.
>at least they incentivize experimenting w/ other builds unlike morrowind
there's LESS builds in those you 'tardy party

>exploring a completely static world with copy pasted NPCs and the worst dialogue system ever invented
i like the dialogue system a lot and wish other games did the same thing, i should be able to ask any character questions about what i know, that's fucking cool
and exploring Morrowind is fun and engaging because it's very intently designed, stuff is hidden, behind bookshelves and under tables and on top of dressers, stuff exists where it does in a very lord of the rings breathing world kinda way.

mate it doesn't matter how many builds an RPG has if the AI remains so overwhelmingly shitty all the way through that every encounter can be beaten with the most braindead melee approach possible.

you could mod in naruto / dbz-tier moves and powers into Morrowind that only your character can use, and the combat still wouldn't be even 1% better. all NPCs die the same way, repeat the same death sounds and death animations, and follow the same AI pattern of chasing you in a straight line to kill you. you could have a million of approaches in your RPG and none will make the combat fun if the enemies aren't interesting enough to incentivize experimentation. capeesh?

People need to stop arguing with an actual child. He's too young to understand your arguments and his older brother needs to use the computer in a bit anyway.

Attached: face.jpg (1121x860, 115.62K)

>address any of his points? no, I'll just make a snide comment about how he's a retard even though I apparently cannot argue against anything a child says

alright man I respect your feelings, but I still disagree. i don't like having to click topics and read wikipedia-tier dialogue and receiving lore dumps about a world that i have no reason to care for as its inhabitants are plain and boring and don't talk like real people would.

blah blah blah
love me some wikipedia

Learn how to greentext, retard.

Child, when you grow up you'll realise no one ever owes you any respect. It is earned. You are not entitled to respectful debate when you fill air with dumbarse responses that confirm your idiocy. People will laugh at you. Deal with it. No one is ever obligated to be nice to you.

You can choose to engage with Morrowind on it's terms and respect what it tries to teach you. Or move on to something you actually like. You gay retard.

Do you really think any sort of intelligence is needed to handle Morrowind?
Between the horrid AI and lack of proper scaling you would be hard pressed to find a build that doesn't work.

People are confused by the AC and thac0 system of old DnD. I understood it as a fucking ten year old at the very least that power number = good. That's all you need to know. But it filters people. So I'm not surprised people have trouble figuring out something as simple as morrowind.

Pseudo-intellectual babbling in lieu of an actual argument, you could just admit that Morrowind has a lack of enemy combat variety but by refusing to even entertain the notion and instead defending it on the grounds that anyone arguing against it is a child shows that you don't actually care about the quality of the game. And it's "its".

I am the one you think is a Romainian not that user.
It is good to see my bitch already fired up when I get here. Thanks to the other user.

Now that I am here I just have this to say.
Who the fuck do you think you are talking to another user that way?
I get it. I have been merciless to your bitch ass but that is no reason to take it out on another. You do not get to talk down to anyone.
Now apologize you little punk.

I play as Argonians because they have good voice acting and walk in a cool way

>points such as
>no animation for missing
>and
>....?
right, you miss, it boggles the mind, how can you swing a sword and miss, MISS, of all things how might one miss with their sword swinging, got nap it! you should always hit should you swing that sword!!

some enemies attack from the sky, some hurl spells at you, some damage your attributes, some attack you in your sleep, some lay and wait when you garner a high reputation, ect ect
but let me guess this all sucks because at the end of the day you still have to get into an altercation that involves melee, spells, ect ?

That user is incapable of admitting a single flaw in Morrowind . He is also incapable of defending it. All he can do is throw hissyfits when people disagree with him.

oh it's flawed alright, it's VERY fucking flawed, it's so flawed my man, so very flawed

Attached: vidya.jpg (627x319, 86.39K)

Well that wasn't in the post he was referencing but yes if the animation for the sword hitting is the same as the sword missing then its an understandable complaint

Might as well list off every enemy in the game because it's attacking you in a different scenario, "this one attacks you in a cave, this one attacks you in the plains". You are right that there are flying enemies, melee enemies and spellcaster/ranged enemies but they all have the same basic braindead AI for engaging with you. Now I'm not trying to deride the game for its lack of RPG options in enemies, they are very varied in that regard but it is a fact that the rules for engaging an enemy in combat are very similar

right, the sword you swing makes a swoosh and the text says miss, and you do no damage, and you gain some experience in sword swinging
i hereby file my official complaint. it's just so flawed user, so very very flawed!

yessir i might as well list off every single enemy in the game because they're different, that is the very nature of what i was going for, enemy variety, the differences separating them.
"and this one attacks you in a wizard tower, and this one attacks you in a creepy basement in the middle of town, and this one attacks you if you taunt it, and -"
yes! so very basic and braindead! the way they have to fundamentally *attack* in order to *inflict damage* so very very basic and dead in the head!
for sure so much variation, so much basicness, so varied and so so simple!

even with a well built character combat is a boring slog
having a well built character just means you get the reward of playing a skyrim/oblivion slap fight
funny you say that, most old dice based combat of, and before morrowind's time gave player feedback, either through a single little line of text or a full on combat log

I don't really understand why people are filtered by it either but not because it's hard or overly technical. In fact, Morrowind is very accessible and simple. It was a huge success for a reason.
Why would that filter you though? You have to click a few of times until you level up a bit. Play a bit tactically by chugging some fortify potions or use scrolls if you have to. What's the big deal?

Did you just use metacritic score as a defense without a hint of irony?
Things getting that desperate?

it's just so flawed user, so very very flawed

I would not consider an enemy attacking me in my sleep or at different levels as a different encounter when it carries the same rules of engagement as if I'd just walked into a room with an enemy in it. And every game can be dumbed down to just "attacking for damage" but outside of the RPG mechanics Morrowind doesn't go much further than that

it too grindy

I think I broke you. That is a personal best.Well see you tomorrow.

correct, outside of the RPG there is no further to go, an RPG at heart, totally that, an RPG

hopefully not, i have to recover, you just won too hard
i had to resort to using metacritic just to hammer in on home just how flawed the game is, it's just so flawed user

Why did the blacks have the best once a day power by a mile compared to the other races?
