It's safe to say his franchise got it the worst right?

Definitely. Wario or FF before Sephiroth is a close second.
You gotta love how Sakurai intentionally tricked people into thinking Shadow might be in by showing Knuckles as an assist trophy without a hint of Shadow. And then at the last moment he says "oh yeah, Shadow's an assist trophy, problem?"
People accuse me of being whiny because my favorite characters didn't get in Ultimate, but the main reason I'm mad isn't that they didn't get in, it's that Sakurai intentionally misled people with stunts like that and others to build hype.
>Pac-Man attacks with literal sprites of his enemies
No. Imagine if Mario's forward Smash was a Goomba JPG appearing for a second.
>Sakurai intentionally tricked people
you're just as mentally fucked as the geno fags with these retarded schizo gymnastics
Yeah, it's JUST a coincidence that he showed Knuckles as an assist trophy without showing Shadow, because why the fuck would there be two assist trophies for a series with only one rep? Does that make any fucking sense? Most people would see Knuckles and no Shadow and put two and two together and think "maybe Shadow's in". Even if people weren't thinking it was a sure thing, the point was to get people speculating. He knew what he was doing. And he did it AGAIN by showing off the moon from Majora's Mask as an assist trophy without showing Skull Kid.
Reminds me of the idiots who thought Rosalina's trailer was Air Ride 2 or MK8 DLC despite explicitly beginning with the Sm4sh SCHWING and fire.
>Sakurai intentionally tricked people into thinking Shadow might be in by showing Knuckles as an assist trophy
rosterfaggotry: not even pnce
Yeah a corporation would never try to generate speculation so people will get hyped to buy their products.
Shadow just seemed like the biggest no brainer for an Echo and was probally Sonic Team themselves being spergs about it
>Most of sonics moves are the same but with small gameplay quirks
Bravo Nintendo
>this same faggot is still seething years later
fucking lol I remember when you kept making threads asking "why would Sakurai do this?"
christ get a grip
How does Sakurai's cum taste?
Pikmin gives it a run for its money
>Alph locked as a costume when shit like Dark Pit gets its own slot
>Alph doesn't even use his own ship in his final smash
>one of the worst movesets in the game
>said moveset doesn't even reflect pikmin that well since the recovery rewards you for killing pikmin
>ai no uta cut from game
>Olimar has no voice, is portrayed as a scardey cat in subspace, got no shout out in World Of Light despite being first party
Ironically you'd be sucking his dick if your literal clone made it in.
Sonic is bad but I hate Wario more for being the funny fat fart guy. And while there's worse implementations than Banjo, I find his moveset gross, campy, and not at all representative of the collectathon genre. If Steve can mine and craft, Banjo could at least collect things on stage that change the moves somehow, or something. Little Mac sucks too. Punch out is about being agile, avoiding hits and taking full advantage of rare strike opportunities. In smash he's more of a mindless superarmor ape than DK.
Wonder of hes the same guy sperging out over any spongebob images posted?
We all know who we want in Smash.
>Banjo could at least collect things on stage that change the moves somehow
That's not how his game worked.
Correct.
The fact that he wasn't even a Boss Fight is criminal
>Banjo could at least collect things on stage that change the moves somehow, or something
Rosterfags literally doesn't play video games.
The other posters are delusional, he absolutely knew what he was doing and I’m still mad
Where the fuck was Eggman Hackurai?
2 Sonic stages and he's not in either
Didn't even make him a boss or character, what a waste
Why is Knuckles even an assist trophy over him any ways? Was that just to calm people down wondering why you didn't give Sonic an echo?
eggman was robbed of his rightful spot
Exactly. Like why would anyone think a series with one rep would get two assist trophies?
Hi Jebtube. Did you come to terms with Mania yet?
Who the hell is Jebtube?
>this
He just needed one of his mechs you literally cant choose wrong
I'm still convinced a deal with SEGA broke down half way though development, which is why they didn't even change Sonic's moveset, and it was likely for the most retarded japanese office boomer bullshit ever
Half the Smash roster/series is done poorly.
>Ganondorf with his E3 tech demo sword, and moves/stats that don't represent him at all. Makes it seem like Sakurai had only ever seen that tech demo and based everything around that
>Wario is le ebin fart man with no moves that pay homage to his games asides a half-baked shoulder bash that was removed
>Despite being numerous in amount, Fire Emblem is repped fucking terribly and characters like Roy are completely out of character
>The inconsistency between UHHH DOC MARIO, LUCINA, DARK SAMUS AND DARK PIT CAN'T JUST BE SKINS THAT WOULD DO THEM BAD oh uh alph and the koopalings are fine tho :)
How would you put Eggman's boss fight in Smash? I think changing Green Hill Zone to make it something like Wuhu Island where the stage layout changing by going through different parts of the map would be a great idea because Eggman would show up as a boss at the end of the stage similar how he does in Sonic Mania.
Let me guess, you think Wario wasn't "Wario Land Enough" and demand more Wario Land games yet you didn't buy Shake it, you didn't even realize his victory theme was based off it
I was thinking of just the Death Egg robot and location from Sonic 2, seems the most iconic
Pac-Man had it the absolute worst.
>Attacks with sprites like said
>Pac-Land is one of the worst stages and literally only uses the original game's graphics, which looks ugly with Smash's models
>Pac-Maze not even in Ultimate because they didn't give enough of a shit about Pac-Man to port it
>Only 3 songs, 2 of which are just remixes of the original game's startup and intermission jingles
>Only 5 spirits
>All trophies in Smash 4 that didn't already have a model made for gameplay were just sprites
>Only represents 4 games for a franchise with a 35-year history and dozens of games
>Represented games are simple arcade games from the 80s with not much to represent
>Shit alts you can barely tell the difference from one another
>Not in any CGI trailer
They really gave us the bare minimum for one of gaming's most iconic and historically-important icons.
Here's what Pac-Man's song list should've been.
Wario's Smash Bros. debut was in Brawl, which released January 31, 2008. It established his moveset, the WarioWare bias, and his victory theme.
Wario Land: Shake It! released July 24, 2008. The Stonecarving City theme is based on Wario's Brawl victory theme, not the other way around.
I say this as a man who's purchased every WarioWare and got every microgame target score. The fact is that by the time Shake It came out, it was too late.
Death egg robot would be the obvious choice but possibly a big arm boss fight with and upgraded moveset like punching and shockwaves, missles, etc. And wherever it is he has a desperation grab you and throw you off the stage
>>Not in any CGI trailer
His trailer was CGI :)
>you think Wario wasn't "Wario Land Enough"
He's not Wario enough period. His moveset barely resembles anything from Land or Ware, his mannerisms are just bizarre but not in a Wario sense of his usual bizarreness. His song list is garbage, both from Land or Ware. Though to be fair all the Mario characters are represented horribly in Smash
>and demand more Wario Land games
Nothing wrong with that, the franchise was overall more successful in raw numbers then WarioWare (both are good though)
>yet you didn't buy Shake it
Shake It! eventually sold a million, which isn't much worse then Wario Land 2. Also Shake It is by far the weakest Wario Land, can't blame people too much for not caring about it
>you didn't even realize his victory theme was based off it
I doubt he doesn't know, but it's a lame victory theme anyway imo. Rather the motif of Wario Land 1, 2 or 3
Egg Dragoon because it's cool and I like the music
Shake it was in development, trailers were already released, it was promotional
>Idiots
While I didn't think this myself, can you really blame peopel that did? Sakurai admitted plainly that trailer was designed to look like a new game announcement. And he clearly succeeded
It was obviously smash to begin with from the trailers style and budget but it didn't actually have that opening logo in the direct. They added it to the video upload and started incorporating them going forward because it caused confusion.
I have no idea why people were so excited for Kirby in MK8 though, Mario Kart characters are cosmetic. Nobody cared when Inklings or Animal Crossing got in.
Correct
>Moveset has three spindashes for no good reason
>Stage is green hill, which is okay, and then the freaking lost world ripoff of greenhill everyone hates
For how long? Brawl had regular development updates published on a blog for around 6 months leading up to release, with most of the musical tracks already established.
Nigger he did the same shit with Isaac
A huge chunk of Wario's moveset actually comes from Wario World. His chewing attack, his recovery, and his throws all resemble moves in that game.
It was the newest platformer he had at the time of Brawls development.
Why doesn't Japan like Sonic?
Yeah Eggman got shafted hard. Like the only thing we got from him is a damn spirit...

>In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wario’s victory theme was an arrangement of the Stonecarving City theme from Shake It!, which hadn’t yet come out. Were you involved in this special cameo?
>No, that was another piece I received from Nintendo. I didn’t do anything for Brawl.
Literally the only good Fire Emblem rep is robin, because s/he actually has the weapon degradation mechanic.
The only rosterfaggotry I personally let myself autism about is actually Byleth. Byleth is an heavy arsenal fighter, and S/he is NOT an arsenal character in the games. That entire moveset belonged to Monster Hunter.
It came off as Sega getting cold feet at the last second considering his model look updated from 4.
Because Japan has a shit taste. A tale as old as time.
>and then the freaking lost world ripoff of greenhill everyone hates
I always found it bizarre they didn't use Lost World's rendition of Casino Night for Sonic's Wii U stage.
"Neon city" is probably the second most iconic style of environment in Sonic games next to Green Hill-esque stages, and it still would have worked as an advertisement for Lost World like they were obviously trying to do with Windy Hill's inclusion.
So whoever composed that tiny jingle then sent it to Good Feel to make a song out of it...
Smash Wario is just an OC
For a second, when they talked about Sephiroth being one of "gaming's most iconic villains" or something to that effect in the Sephiroth stream, it really struck me that Eggman should've been in too. Ideally, so would M. Bison, but I can't imagine Capcom would pick him over Chun-li
>Smash Wario is just an OC
How?
It doesn't help that he's a campy runaway faggot too. An outstanding piece of shit annoying character in a game full of piece of shit characters.
>Implying Shadow won’t just be cosmetically different from Sonic in Smash.
>mfw they removed Right There, Ride On
Honestly, the biggest, most iconic and instantly recognizable villains in gaming got in smash in the exact manner I expected them to:
Team Rocket as Mii Fighters.
Makes no sense. Smash has incredibly dogshit costumes. This would have been a really obvious attire to give the Pokemon Trainers.
Has Wario ever used a fart as an attack in any Wario game?
Has Wario ever move choppily like he did in Brawl?
Has Wario ever chomped enemies as an attack? And no, World does not fucking count, the open jaw thing is just vaccum for coins.
I want FGC niggers out.
The fuckers quite literally cheat at the game, you get rewarded for playing like a retard spamming tilts or jabs.
You get massive damage off of "bread and butter combos" which also involve mashing.
You have to camp them out like a bitch.
I'm still fucking mad he has NOTHING from the World trilogy. Not even the core move from all 3 games: The Butt-Bounce, which would have been an excellent move to his kit than the fucking hydrant.
No shit Sherlock, of course any pre-Ultimate character is gonna be horribly represented because Sakurai is a fucking hack
The hydrant is funnier
Doesn't he have the kick flip from World 2.
That was Smash 4. He appears in jack shit in Ultimate save for the commercial where he's literally a keyframed PNG. He never appears in a CGI trailer for Ultimate.
Funny my ass, that fucking shit means you got no way of chasing Pac-Man in the air as long as he hasn't shat a hydrant from his Pac-Anus.
Mario pulls a more accurate flip-kick to PMW2's, plus it's already such a generic move I doubt it was an intentional reference.
It feels like they really tried to avoid Bayonetta 2.0 with him and decided not to give all of his broken shit...
I still like playing him but they had a lot of potential with Sora and only use his KH1 stuff.
I really don't understand the contrarians that spit out about his moveset being just spins and more spins. Because, I don't know, that's the thing he always does besides running fast?
>Side B
>Down B
I'll give you that, Side B should have been something else.
And to make it worse, they didn't start their whole campaign of Sonic's moveset being le bad put until Ultimate came out. Not in Sm4sh, not in Brawl. Like they didn't give two shits about it and they just noticed that Sonic's moveset was bad all along when it was the fuckinbg same ever since.
And it just goes to show how greedy the smashkeks became with their 'character/franchise representation' bullshit.
Just give him GUNS
>It's safe to say his franchise got it the worst right?
No. Zelda has it the worst. Last character was Toon Link and he's a clone. The last unique character was over 20 years ago in Melee with Zelda/Sheik. We didn't even get an Impa alt/echo for Shiek despite Impa being a recurring character that dates back to the first Zelda.
Meanwhile Ganondorf is a clone of Captain Falcon. One of Nintendo's greatest villains has a moveset based on a character from an entirely different series whose world setting is almost the opposite of Zeldas.
It's one thing to not have characters. It's another thing to have characters that in no way shape or form represent the character from that series.
