the developer is pretty much independant and the first game can easily be called overall indie
I suppose the second game, alongside the ownership of the IP, became pretty much non-indie and had microsoft funding, which is fair, but given the circumstances of the first game i think it can still be mentioned when someone talks about good indie games

The only downside to p5 is having to fight the piss easy early bosses every attempt, otherwise it’s pure kino. Same with the radiant fights, easily the most fun I had with the game (except Markoth)

Path of Pain is fun and nowhere near as difficult/frustrating as the pantheon. You should also try the flower quest if you haven't already.

I just had no desire to do it. I appreciate a challenge but that just seemed like a complete grind and I was done with the game and ready to move on to a new one.

normal p5 is fun, radiant fights are just boring and grindy. p5 all bindings was a significantly dent in my overall enjoyment of the game but i still think it was worth it as i really liked it, but i'm straight up not touching it or radiant difficulty ever again

I love Blasphemous but I think it's only a good game elevated by it's art direction. If Blasphemous didn't look as good as it does it would be a very middling experience. I love the art for it so much that I bought the art book and waited for like half a year for it to get to my house since COVID hit which delayed it, especially since it had to ship overseas.

Did that. I legitimately broke it on the last section crossing the thorns in front of the grave on one run which was so frustrating.
I got the all power ups, full bars, seer's final words and beat radiance so feel like I did enough.

Those are definetly great games, but I wouldnt say they're the best. For example, I used to think Celeste is the best precision platformer, but after trying out Dustforce, even though I'm not a big fan, it's hard to say it has worse movement.

It's a game that has mostly simple to understand mechanics, which can also be extremely deep. Plus the game really fucks with your brain and yet, in the end, it all makes sense.
