quantity over quality

mogged by dragon lord

placidusax is much better than any nostalgia goggles dragon

Placidusax was better than Midir

midir has the better theme so uh you're wrong

Midir is cute

Placidusax comes close, he's probably the second best Soulsborne dragon after Midir.

No

Placidusax is way better but even the regular and ancient Dragon's are more fun to fight than Midir. Midir is a slog, Kalameet/Sinh were better.

Midir is shit, he is barely even capable of damaging you if you just run straight at his head and mash R1. Placidusax utterly mogs him in every way possible.

>Midir is sexy.

All the dragon fights are just fucking laughably bad
>run to back leg and slam on them for a while
>they either spin attack to face you which has big animations to let you know its coming or they just stomp you with a 10 second windup
>same deal on horse except you can just get out of range faster
>same fight against the camera when they go into the air every time and you just sprint towards their tail
>the boss encounters unmounted only have a gimmick of aoe lightning where you have to roll to its rythm

And yet they're better than any other game's dragon battles other than maybe Grigori's fight in DD and even that suffers from heavy scripting.

Midir is fucking boring!

Both Placidusax and Fortissax are better than Midir.
Honestly even the average dragon is better simply because they have more than three attacks.

Step aside DS3 and ERtrannies. Make way to the true god tier dragon boss battle.

Elden Ring is my first FromSoft game, and while I really enjoy it, I think that having to defend against game journalists crying about accessibility has brain broken a lot of FromSoft fans to the point they can't handle ANY criticism of their games.

When will they fucking improve camera for giant foe

We just aren't interested in hearing casuals and retards whining about the games, which has been going on for 10+ years now, pic related.

you smack him from behind and the fatass falls over and dies lol

>fucked up hit boxes and input reading are the same as traps
I dont even remember any actual traps in ER.

>Not Seath

Input reading has been in these games since Demon's Souls, and it has always been obvious. Now SHUT UP AND FUCK OFF

Midir was really bad because the camera is terrible if you aren't standing right in front of his face, but why would you ever think to fight a dragon like that? It's stupid.

It's awesome fighting a dragon head to head. Running around back to hit the legs always felt cowardly.

Better in what respect, exactly? Visually? Mechanically?
First one's debatable, but his actual fight was a tedious slog, in my opinion.

Yeah, you guys are effectively Stans for FromSoft, I'm glad we can agree. And pic is definitely related because only a retard fanboy would keep a shit quality image like that.

No that's just being smart and applying sensible logic. Standing in front of a dragon is the stupidest thing ever and why would you ever think to do that? Just dumb and cemented Dark Souls is no longer a game about being an adventurer so prepare to roll again and again and again against flashy anime boss fights with no substance.

>smack him from behind and the fatass falls over and dies
classic dark souls bosses in a nutshell

Get the fuck off this website zoomer

I honestly really enjoyed Placidusax. Felt like his fight had a really good balance between cool visuals and a good moveset, rather than leaning too far in either direction like with some of From's other bosses.

>sits in your toes and uses two repair powders
Nothing personnel liz

Can someone post the webm?

Fromtards want rollfests and think anything else is a gimmick

Catacombs

Wait, so you *wouldn't* want to engage him from directly in front of his fanged, flame-spewing maw? That's silly.

Midir isn't even good in the first place. I'm tired of you dumbass 3fags sucking him off when he's just a generic dragon fight. The only good dragon fight in the series is Sinh.

Midir has a better theme and is designed to make you fight him from the front instead of slapping his knees and tail. The boss arena being the cavern from the DS1 intro is also ludokino.

>REEEE STOP POINTING OUT THAT I'M A SELF ADMITTED MINDLESS FANBOY

Calling midir anime is pushing it a bit. He's extremely satisfying to fight head on as all of his moves are telegraphed and dodgeable unlike most ER bosses. Plus you get more consistent and better damage attacking his head. Going after his legs always led to camera freaking out.

Midir only takes reasonable damage from his head while his gigantic fire giant size body covers your screen, Placidusax takes reasonable damage everywhere but he'll shoot behind himself if you attack from behind and teleports to dodge and counter your attacks.

The problem is that Fromsoft tend not to try very hard when designing bosses that aren't "dodge through attacks, swing a couple times, roll away, repeat."

>Phase 1 Rennala is a discount Deacons of the Deep
>Rykard is just Yhorm/King of Storms again
>Midir has massive damage resistance everywhere but his head, which is difficult to hit consistently with how much it moves around

You shouldn't fight him head on. It's stupid.
>Going after his legs always led to camera freaking out.
And that's why it's a shit fight.

>which is difficult to hit consistently with how much it moves around
wrong

Investing some effort into learning midir makes it incredibly enjoyable

>every phase of every boss has to be a fucking insane test of reflexes
"No"
Rennala phase 1 is cool.
Rykard is cool
Midirs head is easily hittable if you just learn the fight.

It betrays the souls grounded aesthetic to go after the God of War crowd.

Flacidsex was a fucking joke.

>Midir has massive damage resistance everywhere but his head, which is difficult to hit consistently with how much it moves around
His head is not hard to hit, he pauses with his head low with almost every attack. You aren't fighting him right.

big sexy dragons

>ring around the rosie boss bullshit
Fuck off. One of the worst battles throughout the series, even more so if you want to get the tail.

>smack 3 glowy children, then smack the totally unresisting boss until her barrier comes back, repeat with no variation whatsoever until phase 2
Riveting gameplay.

I don't get why people like midir. It's boring scripted endurance fight, I don't even bother killing midir anymore in my DS3 runs. Sinh was much better dragon fight.

>t. Retard who never hits the head

After the first cycle she starts turning the sweetlings into the coffin bombs if you're not fast enough. Also really like how attacks come from the environment so depending on where you're looking you can have a chandelier drop on you or a piece of furniture thrown at you.

>He wasn't a better designed fight.
He was
Midir is designed fron the ground up to reward mastering and placement
It's the best Dragon fight From has made

>t. Retard who assumes things

>the coffin bombs if you're not fast enough
You have to REALLY take it slow to actually get hit by that.

Even if you're constantly hitting the head he still takes a long ass time to kill.

He's literally no different from ER dragons outside doing more damage. You're trying to argue the same fight is better.

Yeah, it's a fucking dragon.

All of those are very easily avoided if you're even halfway paying attention, though. You pretty much have to intentionally ignore the telegraphs, which all are very obvious and have a fair bit of wind-up.

Then why don't most other dragon fights take that long?

Just like midir.
Considering the easiest strategy is unlocking the camera and hitting him in the anus.

Midir is basically the template for dragon fights in elden ring. They just didn’t give them the massive fucking arena he resides in and instead they despawn if they get 15m outside of their leash. This is actually a problem with all world bosses but whatever great game

Midir was trash
having to sprint up to him every time he spazzes out and thrashes around the arena for half a minute got old fast

His face takes like double damage and it's really easy to hit, but he also just constantly fucks off 20 miles every time you bop him on the nose twice.

I'm still convinced everyone who liked Midir played a magic character of sorts

Had the first dragon despawn on me, wasn't even my fault either the guy just kinda flew up a ledge and out of his tether range I guess.

Any dragon/drake/wyvern/whatever fight in DD shits on Souls lmao, it's not a fair comparison. A lot of the BBI dragons especially have complex interactions that allow for all of the vocations except warrior to defeat them

I like DD but that's not true
any fight where there's 2 dragons at the same time is an unholy clusterfuck because the dragons move eachother around at lightspeed when they hit them, but don't deal damage

so when that drake does his tail spin thing he catapults a wyrm breathing it's ice into your face without interrupting said breath

not to mention most of their movesets are fairly basic and the whole insta-kill your pawns thing is just annoying

renella is supposed to be easy. she's the first of the real ranged boss fights in the game which can catch the new player off guard. she's in the 2nd area you explore, why are you asking for a difficult test of reflexes on the SECOND MAJOR BOSS IN THE GAME?

Because "braindead easy" is boring. I'm not asking for super difficult bosses right off the bat, but I'd like SOME challenge and Rennala fails to provide that.

btw guys, i just started playing dragon's dogma and im enjoying it, but i still don't know how to properly dodge attacks, am i supposed to just try to run away?

Man dark souls 2 was really beautiful at times
