Cool they fixed Carian bug and instant killing people. Frenzied Burst cant stunlock either I guess. Fixed the bugs but didnt touch anything that was ruining the balance.

Madness build here, I am very happy with these changes. Every time I tried to setup with Frenzied Burst and the host just dropped dead instead, I felt absolutely disgusting. It really sucked all the fun away from invading. Inescapable Frenzy was also a bug so I can't complain about that being fixed. I also never used the Dragon seal so that nerf didn't really affect me at all. But why the hell was Howl nerfed? That spell was already utterly useless.

I always had faiththat incantations would be buffed eventually.

What is the strength weapon equivalent to moonveil / RoB?

R1/2 do good damage now and have very quick speed/recovery. Jump attacks comparatively don't do much more now but leave you totally vulnerable as they didn't get the same speed changes. Jumps were never that good, they were just the only workable thing STR had.

Was madness really that much of an issue in PVP? I've probably only encountered it once and when I tried the grab spell it was so shit that I just wrote of the entire attribute as a meme purely for lore purposes.

It was all they had before the patch for some types of colossal weapons. Hammers in general still have a miserable colossal moveset. Try doing even a uncharged R2 against any boss that isn't one of the easiest ones or riposte status. The R1s still feel bad. But yeah why do anything else when jumping L1s do 1.5-2k damage with just the jump talisman/armor on let alone buffs and the jump L1s are still about as fast in recovery as the buffed R1s let alone the pre patch ones.

pretty much only frenzied burst. dual vykes was strong but not that bad. because of how fromsoft's latency is if you get a "phantom hit" on someone, meaning you hit them on your screen but not yours, it still applies status effects. because of how arcane scaling worked with dragon seal you could 1 hit madness with frenzied burst at extremely high range even if they dodged it. which would lead up into a chain of full frenzied burst for essentially a high range very hard to dodge instakill

How viable/fun are str/fth builds?
Might try a second playthrough with this. Preferably making a shield tank.

Light attack is usable now without you eating shit for it. Strong is really good too as it charges a hell of a lot faster. You can also guard counter better as they have much better block now.

please stop this meme, literally nothing has changed for bleed AT ALL aside from the duration of the BLEED LOSS animation. You'll still get stun locked by RoB's 6 million attacks, you'll still get instabled from dual naginata's, you'll still get chunked hard.

I have never done the "PvP farming" thing where I get to an unreachable spot, but I do like hiding and I never afk. I don't understand why people get mad at it though, don't you guys want to fight? Me not dying ensures the PvP never ends, and without any faggy "le honorable duel" rules. You just rip and tear until you get ripped and torn, sounds like the ideal host to invade.

Singleplayer games actually benefit from details being obscured from the player hence why things like cast time and frame data aren't available for players to see ingame. It doesn't really matter tho, the wiki will fix it.

this is very interesting to me, because I 100% completely agree with everything in this patch and that's been ocuring for every elden ring patches so far

I still feel like it's not enough though, some spells are still shit because no damages (what the fuck is the point of litany of death? why is elden stars so low damage by default on top of every single late game enemy and bosses having very high holy defense?)

really interested to see how much the colossal weapons were buffed though, I'm expecting it to be in the single number percentages but enough to make them useable against bosses, hopefully at least?

Just happened to have a save where I was about to fight the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside Leyndell in NG+. Lion's Claw with a +24 Heavy Greatsword with just Flame Grant Me Strength as the buff now kills him in 3 casts + 1 riposte, he never even managed to hit me a single time.
