the only reason it ISN'T the best medium is because in 3025, no case to protect the ammo. and no JJ.
so unfortunetley it loses out to the wolverine. explicitly the llas and mlas version that's got just an srm6 as it only vulnerable bit that can go boom, and has 5 more tonnes, slightly more armour and structure, and jets to leap around. but yea. on /btg/ someone posted the artwork of PLOG's? custom laser hunchback, instead of a 15 tonne ac20, it has three large lasers, so i took a stab at statting it under the construction rules.

Lanky. Despite Eva media being a mess I really enjoy the uncanny supernatural qualities of the mech/angel hybrid, their frightening athleticism, and the violence of hand-to-hand combat - tearing each other apart at the seams, and even eating each other. There's a creepy danger-quality to their appearance, like you really shouldn't trust your planet to them but they're the only edge you have.

Sure, with time, any of the mechs in Mechwarrior could be produced and operate within the same parameters. So fucking what? If you've been paying attention at all to the Ukraine conflict, you'd know that tanks as a viable form of combat just went out the damn window. Man-based portable anti-vehicle platforms are now so prolific that frontal assault heavy vehicles have just been consigned to the history books, and the world's militaries will catch on in a few years. A typical mech is just a tank with a taller profile and more weak points to exploit.
Mecha, while certainly impossible to build without magic-tier technological advancement, are effectively hyper-advanced jets with limbs.

Russia's tanks are all outfitted with the same protective explosive plating that the US uses. It's worthless because modern anti-tank weaponry has the missile fly above the tank, completely bypassing all aspects of the armor, before detonating inches above the main gun for massive damage.

Both Russia and US have active protection in development, a suite of sensors and basically one-shot flak launchers which can intercept and destroy missiles. The difference is, American one will probably work and be adopted.
