that guy has zero charisma
why does he look like the gay men guy
cause he's mad gay
this guy has the most charisma out of all fighting game content creators and makes very good thought provoking videos about fighting games
literal zero charisma. yelling "DOOOOOOD THATS POOG" is not charisma
Who cares what a gay goblin has to say
i hate that ugly faggot, i wish i could block his face from ever being seen again
well he has millions in his bank account so he must have some charisma ?
name one fighting game content creator thats better than him
jiyuna
LTG
>thinks MvCI has good gameplay
Yeah, that's gonna be a based from me.
literally anyone else user lmao
It should always have fighting inputs and anyone arguing against it can kiss my white chalky ass.
I think the only reason you would want simplified motions is so that you could have more people, who are less dedicated, less skilled, and less fun to fight, playing your game and making the devs money. fighting games have persisted with motions even to this year and have held player bases that while small are more than enough to facilitate a smooth learning curve for the most part. the 3 digit population games are a harder sell but all this to say that simplifying inputs will only invite a lesser quality experience.
No because motion inputs are a balancer
If you want to make things more causal friendly you should get rid of things that piss the player off. Like corner pressure.
Motion inputs are not the problem with fighting games/
The lack of good netcode (until recently) and functional matchmaking (no game has this that I know of) are the problems. It's not fun to get into a genre when the new player experience is losing dozens of times in a row to people far better than you. Making the inputs easier won't change that, making more advanced tutorials won't change that, meme comeback mechanics won't change that. You need to actually make sure new players get matched with other players of equal skill.
Netcode is part of this, it's a lot easier to match people of equal skill when you're not restricted to a 100 mile radius.
The tech is old, literally just use elo (or glicko/trueskill if you're feeling fancy, they're still trivial to implement and open source versions exist). Fighting games are perfect, 1v1 and short game times gives you lots of useful data fast. Just stop doing these garbage ladders that don't benefit anyone.
Having actually usable lobbies would be nice too, I'm tired of these habbo hotel memes
>a max leech
meme youtuber
>no answer
looks like im right
>F2P
>Remove Motion Inputs
What do you want to play Max?
>Motion inputs are not the problem with fighting games/
considering that modern SF and Tekken have easier inputs than all the other dead FGs, yeah they are
>has spoken
>thumbnail literally asks a question
these games aren't for you by the way
An mmo
>makes games easier to play
>beginners still get raped by people who know how to play, dropping game all the same
Max knows this. There's probably footage old footage of max saying this very thing.
He's probably being paid for these "hot" takes or something. He's the king of shills after all
SF literally invented the srk input and pic related is in T7, what are you on about? Stop pretending to play fighting games
retard
Tekken still has half and quarter circles
Oh and what does that * button do? Please take it away.
The only way they would ever remove inputs is if they did the stuff smash does where actual inputs do more damage than the simple commands
Tekken's always had easier inputs, the appeal is that you can just mash and have cool things happen as a beginner. SFV has full "normal" fighting game inputs, half circles and all. The input shortcuts are a bit ridiculous but beginners don't know about those anyway.
I also wouldn't say SFV and Tekken are exactly non-dead by normal multiplayer game standards. Sure, there's enough players there to get matches, but for being the two biggest franchises in the genre the numbers are pathetic. They're losing on steam to fucking AoE IV, a game that's free if you have gamespass.
Man if only there were a some way of making it so beginners don't get raped by people who know how to play
Some kind of matchmaking based on skill
And here's a season 4 tekken input for its newest character
comeback mechanics like v-trigger in sf5 and rage in tekken 7 are what is actually ruining fighting games
Imagine watching a nigger
Lack of good singleplayer content is the death of fighting games. Look at all the successful fighting games, they all give players shit to do when they're tired of playing other randos. Every time players turn offvyour game there's a chance they'll never pick it up again.
There's an argument for not having fucking pretzels and Gs if you want, sure, but lots of characters moves are designed around their inputs and it aggravates me that that aspect always gets ignored.
Did you ever notice your invincible reversal option is usually tied to a 623 motion, aka one you can't block during?
Have you ever felt like a character has a projectile that's a little too powerful, then seen that it's a charge move they have to plan ahead of time and commit to?
Hell even 360s have to be buffered in behind buttons in order to properly punish defensive players.
There's tons of nuance that just gets glossed over. GBVS shows why that nuance is important with shit like Charlotta being able to just crack out charge moves on frame 1.
based

blown the fuck out
mods, get this onions ass nigga outta here
I think you vastly over estimate how badly beginners are being "raped" by someone who can play. There is fucking nothing any matchmaking can do so that someone who just starts doesn't get mad because the other guy on the same skill level learned that two buttons throw and he just does it a lot because it works. It won't help someone where some guy learned a single input to do a fireball and just does that shit and his opponent won't jump. Level 0 is a great filter in itself. That's just what fighting games are. You can't really just replicate MMR and ladders because you aren't assembling 5 assholes with 1 kinda okay asshole who will just be bogged down by his team in fighting games.
1 is the best maid.
People always say this and I have no idea why. Besides, the problem isn't really absolute beginners (if you don't know anything at all it'll be rough, although you can at least match with the worst of the worst) but people who have played a bit. If you know how fighting games work you shouldn't be languishing with a 10% win rate in ranked.
Skill largely follows a normal curve.
>You can't really just replicate MMR and ladders because you aren't assembling 5 assholes with 1 kinda okay asshole who will just be bogged down by his team in fighting games.
You absolute retard, that's why MMR would work so well, you don't need to assemble 5 + 5 people, you just have to grab two people with similar skill levels. Go play chess on chess.com or lichess and it does this just fine.
>but population
Yo don't need that much population for it to work. You don't need any population at all to actually try.
Simplified inputs and combos don't even matter. People will still quit fighting games after going 0-10 online. Either make an extensive single player mode or add a sandbox party mode.
The asterisk means that you should briefly wait.
chinder chagger
GIRUGAMESH
Or just do actual matchmaking instead of colored squares like every other genre does?
nuanced take time, but games can have whichever input style they think is better for their game. obviously something like Project L is going to use simple inputs to ease the ASSFAGGOTS players into the genre but something like SF and GG are going to stick to traditional inputs. There is plenty of room in the genre for more casual orientated titles and I'd prefer the line be drawn between these casual games and the hardcore games, instead of trying to casualize the hardcore games for an audience that will not ever stick with the genre.
Honestly I really hate dealing with quarter and halfcircle inputs just because my fighting stick never seems to pick them up properly. Makes me want to swap to using buttons only.
this is not going to solve the issues with fighting games that casuals have,no matter how much shit you take out that wont make them better at the game
lots of folks use the hitbox so there's no shame in it.
just practice more, it sounds like you're missing the downback and downforward inputs.
Should fighting games be free?
Should fighting games remove motion inputs?
Should fighting games have character bans?
Should fighting games have a paycheck from Riot games included?
Yeah I do need to practice more. My fightstick is a Qanba Carbon, and I haven't heard from anyone else that it misses things. I've only really played fighterZ and Skullgirls. I definitely whiff my skullgirls combos pretty regularly. You're exactly right i think what I miss is the downback and downforwards pretty often when I do quarters and halves.
>Should fighting games be free?
yes
>Should fighting games remove motion inputs?
most of them, yeah
either have simplified inputs like the newer SFs or long button buffering like tekken
>Should fighting games have character bans?
yes, fuck mainfags
>Should fighting games have a paycheck from Riot games included?
no, fighting games should pay Riot games instead and start kneeling RIGHT NOW if they dont want to look too bad after their fg comes out
Fighting game fags are so embarrassing
Mainman
Hell even the bald schizo Jeremy has more charisma
This is really sad, we are stuck with his garbage opinions because apparently everyone else on the FGC has the charisma of a rock.
Turn on input history if you haven't already. It's a very good way to figure out your execution issues.
That's too hard!
If you can handle him having just a little bit of his head up his ass, Sajam is actually decent to listen to.
sounds like someone got his ass handed to him in a fighting game
I reckon some of my favorite fighting games have easy mode inputs like GBVS and even Pokken. But I also play more input heavy games like Blazblue and KOF XV right now.
>Sajam
Sir, do the comboful
I haven't watched Mainman since his Smash spergout
players will still quit or just not play, people don't like taking responsibility for their mistakes , which is why they dont stick to 1v1 games
I like most of his content but I'm uncomfortable with how racist he gets sometimes
literally who?
Obviously some people don't like taking responsibility for their mistakes and would prefer to play things more like party games, but the fact is that most people don't think it's worth sitting at a 10% win rate for hundreds of games until you get good enough to actually have decent matches. Especially when every other game just manages to match you based off of skill.
The man is a multi millionaire, top 500 streamers in the planet and the face of the fighting game community despite not even competing at fighting games.
>content creator
kys
this also primarily 1v1 and actually uses elo for matchmaking.
There is no real reason I dislike him. He just seems like a fag.
Fighting games do match you off skill, user.
The issue is that most fighting games have an insane level of depth when it comes to how good or bad you can be. Literally knowing one more thing than your opponent can lead to destroying them.
And then you have moments like this where it comes full circle in terms of skill. There's no definitive top in fighting games, it's always a changing meta.

on one hand i have trouble with motions on every pad i use (hitting 3 on numpad notation is really difficult for me for some reason) but i cant get used to stick either
on the other there are legitimate gameplay reasons to have motions, having played games with motions and without
no game is going to be perfect in either case, just play the ones you like
