>SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS (HD) has invested a huge budget to create global hits like the popular Epic Games game "Fortnite", and has invested a huge amount of money in the past popular titles "Crazy Taxi" and "Jet Set Radio". I'm developing a new work. A person familiar with the plan revealed.
>If realized, these two titles will be the first of the company's "super game" initiatives announced a year ago. In its medium-term plan up to the fiscal year ending March 2024, the company explained that this concept is an initiative aimed at strengthening the profit base by global branding using existing intellectual property (IP) and building an online community. ..
oh damn its actually real hope they dont fuck it up
Ryan Turner
>According to several people who anonymously said that the information was not disclosed, "Crazy Taxi" has been under development for over a year and aims to be released within 2-3 years. A year ago, in the financial results announcement material, "Crazy Taxi" was mentioned along with "Jet Set Radio" in the list of intellectual property that we would like to leverage with the introduction of new works. However, both titles may be canceled in the early stages of development.
>big budget crazy taxi live service game An always online game, where players go around a huge procedural map working as virtual taxi drivers. Every successful ride gives you a percentage of a stake in the game's NFTs. YOU decide how many hours you want to put in every day or week.
You play AND you earn as you play, win-win.
Andrew Jones
I have a theory >100 taxis in a big city >every round there are 10 less customers than taxis >taxis can smash into each other to make other taxis drop clients >anyone who doesn't make a delivery gets fired when the round ends >delivering a customer nets you crazybux which can be used to buy cosmetics for your taxi >last taxi standing gets a huge bonus at the end of the game
Brayden Ramirez
>Every successful ride gives you a percentage of a stake in the game's NFTs.
Maybe there will be a new jet set radio game with a seperate royale multiplayer? 3 person gangs of customizable characters skating around various maps either trying to tag the backs of rival groups or make the most graffiti is certainly plausible.
hopefully they're not like the fucking soul hackers sequel that looks like absolute dogshit
Nolan Ortiz
Crazy Taxi as GaaS sounds horrible
give us a 1-3 collection please
Andrew Russell
I can only pray this turns out to be true. No idea what Fortnite JSR would be, a battle royale? Build tracks on the fly?
Brayden Mitchell
It just won't be the same without the music and early 2000s product placement.
Nathan Wilson
>Pitting a skating game that hasn't been relevant in decades against one of the biggest battle royal on earth They do know Fortnite is big because kids get to kill people while playing as their favourite pop culturee character, right?
>Crazy Taxi Royale >you vs 99 other taxis competing for fares, low earners get F I R E D
>Jet Set Royale >you, in a gang of 10 vs 9 other gangs, compete to spray the city, least sprayed groups get arrested by the popo
it could work. not likely to, but it could.
David Foster
Not JSR though, shill. It's a shit wannabe clone.
Cooper Hughes
An online gang vs. gang with your own created character would be unfathomably based. This. You can't simply copy and replace. JSR has soul through and through. BRC is style over substance garbage.
Julian Jenkins
Although Fear Effect came out before Jet Set Radio, JSR was the more influential cel shaded game, motivating nintendo to use it and copy ideas from it for splatoon
Hunter Reed
Although I'm a massive Segafag and would support a new Crazy Taxi and JSR game to the fullest extent, I'm worried about this. I just want fun, singleplayer games. JSR could probably work as a live service, give everyone their own customizable character, collab with popular music artists with songs in the game (would be a streamnigs nightmare though) and add shit like unique dances and sprays, that could all be monetizable and work well. Crazy Taxi though... I don't see it working as a live service and catching on. I hope these end up being good. PSO2NGS doesn't instill much faith
Cooper Gray
No, that other woke garbage clone was a wannabe clone and that one multiplayer kickstarter one was ok I guess but kind of shit.
Brandon Williams
>woke I think I'm just as sick of people whining about this shit as I am of people pushing it. I think I genuinely fucking hate anyone that participates in this retarded "culture war" no matter which side they're on.
Because their limbs are chunky due to the artist's art style? Otherwise I don't see it.
Caleb Hernandez
>Bloomberg The idea of a multiplayer JSR is not bad at all, similar for Crazy Taxi but this one lacks explorations as a series. A decent way to make the games more updated to current times imo.
The sad pathetic ABSOLUTE state of a man conditionated to low his expectations.
Jayden Reyes
JSRF PORT FUCKING WHEN
Benjamin Parker
Interesting that most of the games in the dormant IP section actually did get games in the near past or releasing in the near future. >a new Crazy Taxi and JSR are basically confirmed at this point >Space Channel 5 had a PSVR game >Rez got a remaster in Rez Infinite >Panzer Dragoon got remade with a PD Zwei remake in the works >Virtua Fighter 5 had a new release with remade visuals and it's still getting new DLC costumes >House of the Dead just got a remake on Switch >Streets of Rage 4 released to crazy good success and now a movie is in the works >Soul Hackers is getting a sequel Literally the only games listed that have absolutely nothing confirmed or rumored are Nights, Shinobi, and Altered Beast. Wonder if they'll have their time to shine.
Juan Watson
Ok joker, but the fact is that it was a woke JSR clone and it was shit.
Michael Nelson
You can call it shit for being a shitty game without just saying its "woke" and expecting anyone to give a fuck.
I'm here to talk about videogames, not seethe about retarded identity politics shit. If you can't explain why a game is shit without calling it woke or SJW then its either not actually that shit, or you've got brainrot.
Wyatt Moore
>finally a new JSR >its a br not sure if monkey paw or not
Lincoln Hall
> next gen UE5 grpahics jet set radio I can’t wait ladssssss
Carson Taylor
JSR has always been about the art direction anyway, its not like modern grafix will let them do anything with the style they couldn't already do 15 years ago
Nathan Rodriguez
And then they were nearly buried and a dying old man had to give up his stocks because sega wouldnt stop being retarded. And even now they continue their stupid ways.
Carson Walker
Hoping you JSR and Crazy Taxi gods get a good game out of this. I mean you probably won't, but I'll hope anyway.
