It can't be forgiven because the ending was the most important part. It was the conclusion of the whole fucking trilogy. Imagine if at the end of LoTR they just had gandalf destroy the ring with a spell invalidating the whole journey. Sure there's lots of good shit in 3, but the ending is just utterly unforgivable.

ME2 was enjoyed by the Halo/Gears audience, as the game was made for them. The decline of the series started with the retarded shit in it, asspulled an entire race that didn't help the Reaper in the 1st game because reasons I guess, then you had in the end the human reaper made of human slurpee, among many other retarded shit like the cliche smoking man, and how in a game about choices you can never tell him to fuck off and are forced to work for this guy

There's no hope. DA4 could be the single best RPG from the last 15 years and I'd still have no hope. BioWare is just a name, the people behind their best games are gone. Hell even the team that made ME3 if compared with 2012+10 BioWare is also drastically different, in games like BotW or REmake 2 you hear how having a good mix of veteran devs that know how things work and brand new young devs that have the will to try new things the old guard wouldn't even think about was beneficial for the projects and it helped them; but for BioWare and a lot of other studios you just know the "old devs" are either phoning it in or out of touch, and the "young new devs" care more about the pronouns in their Twitter bio than about making a great piece of art in an IP they care about. If for some reason you saw the trailer where they milk the N7 familiarity and fucking Liara for the fourth consecutive time and still have hope, I don't know what to tell you.

Technically, Liara is in for the fifth time, as she has some audio logs in ME:A as well. They literally can't make a game without her, and their answer to any and all criticism, is just amping the Liara content, with each new title.

ME is honestly shit, the worldbuilding is shit, the character design is shit, the presentation is shit, but if you ask lots of people it’s fucking amazing and has some of the best shit ever in it. Never mind literally everyone wears what appears to be the same 3 latex outfits or full body cyborg armor 24/7, or how the crew of the Normandy apparently hotswap sleeper racks and have 0 personal affects anywhere in the ship they live on or how literally all worldbuilding is told through dialogue exclusively because everything in the environment is copy pasted generic hologram textures slapped over grey walls, it’s apparently the Star Trek of video games.

You have either not lately played all three back to back, or touched on Legendary edition. The downgrade from 2-to-3 is not just immediate, it is JARRING with how immediate it is.

This argument of 'the game is fine if you just ignore the entire ending' is already a copout, but is ten times worse in a series which marketed itself on the premise of 'your choices matter and will carry on from game to game'. Ending a series where the central theme is consequences of actions with a climax that doesn't change based on your previous actions isn't something you brush off as 'a shame, just ignore it', it's a fundamental failure to deliver on the marketed promise people bought into the series for. It's bad. It's not OK.

ME3 doesn't build up the Reapers and ME1 does enough of that, that is actually damaging to both the Reapers, and the franchise.

Shepard will somehow come back to live and ruin whatever good memories of the trilogy you might have had left, if any.
