Kadokawa has a lot of LNs and manga and Sony has a few animation studios thay can adapt them. Sony acquiring or even merging with Kadokawa would have its benefits. Kadokawa has some animation studios too, so Sony could continue to expand their animation sector. They own both Crunchyroll and Funimation, they can play kingmaker with shows if they want. Spy x Family being a recent example as that's animated by Cloverworks, a Sony owned studio.
