Elden Ring and DS2 are unironically the best fromsoft games.

Someone tell me what makes DS1 better without it being gay shit like lore or looking at atmosphere. Because it plays like shit and is boring compared to DS2.

Dark Souls 2 is underrated
And Yea Forums won't be able to go a single day without being butthurt over Elden Ring massive success.

At least I managed to spend 70 fun hours in ER, I spent 2 of rage in gank town in ds2 and quit.
No desire to play shit games.
ER>ds2

OG 2 is perfect the way it is.
SOTFS is well deserved shit-tier.

jesus christ I hate DS2 endgame so much
so fucking cancer

>Someone tell me what makes DS1 better without it being valid reasons

>>I spent 2 of rage in gank town in ds2 and quit.
>mfw I used a trainer to make me invincible to pass those parts and go direclty to the boss, where I turned off the invicibility
Fuck Heide Tower of Flame. I ain't got time to make those Alonne Kniggers to despawn.

Atmosphere, level design, the smaller amount of irritating shit to name a few.

OG is terrible. Scholar made it the best souls game. It's amazing.
>muh cancer
Quit being a bitch
So if you actually want to have fun with a game 2 is better. All this time souls fans didn't actually give a shit about challenging gameplay. They'd probably rather run around empty levels reading item descriptions.

fpbp

>OG is terrible. Scholar made it the best souls game. It's amazing.
I respect your wrong-ass opinion.

I like them all

I just finished DaS for the first time and had a lot of fun overall. I never played any fromsoft games before and I'm itching to play more of these. Is 2 really that bad? Should I skip it?

Yes you npc drone. Skip it.

>for 8 years straight Yea Forums shat on DS2
>ER ring has the exact same issues but gets hailed as best game ever by the same people
>it's been tribalist bullshit by a person cult all along
fucking kek

yeah it's garbage, the first half is way too easy and the second part is way too hard (for the wrong reasons)
also it looks like dogshit, worse than DS

haha well memed friend

I think new players should try it last. Would definitely recommend playing it at some point, though.

based take

Listening to Yea Forums makes you a retard fuck.

ER doesn't have soul memory, gank squads with 2's shitty movement, ADP, and isn't ugly. The fuck are you talking about?

Elden Ring is great and so is Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls 3 is the worst.

1 is like 12 hours long
2 is like 75 hours long
3 is somewhere around 20
BB is not even 10
ER is somewhere around 150

This either exhausts you or it doesn’t imo, I honestly think that is the “problem”. You clear the majority of ER content in 1 run, I had beaten DaS3 like 6 times in that same timeframe.

youtube.com/watch?v=yDicGBTRp1Q

Git Gud lmao
Cryin’ bitch

Elden Ring is insanely overrated and I think Open World really isn't the right fit for Souls.
Is swear normies would love to see their mother being raped as long as it happens in an open world

that said DaS2 is still the worst.

No, DS2 is awful

It definitely makes the game feel like a chore. At some point you just want it to be over. I’m at the point where I can burn the tree and I’m honestly not sure I’ll do all the remaining content. I am simply ready to move on, I can say I have never experienced that in a souls game before. I always do the whole melee thing, no sorceries or anything cause I’m just not into that, but if I ever do bother to replay this one I will, just because it has gotten so boring playing the game that way. It’s just too much.

It's not as good at the other games in the series but if you really enjoyed the first one then you'll still enjoy DS2 for the most part.

ER has gank squads with a broken lockon system, input eating and queue buffering up the ass, input reading all mass because that's how you make games hard, reused after reused after reused after reused after reused after assets, bland ass copy paste dungeons, an empty ''open field'', 2010 era colorgrading but with more yellow and a shit story.
6/10, apply yourself

Attached: bossarena.png (1280x720, 1.73M)

The actual "legacy" content or however people call it is still as great as it was in the good souls games
It just feels like there is tons of filler inbetween the good stuff now like a badly paced tv show.
Oh and loot is so boring if you have a crafting system which is mandatory for open world games.

Oh. Well, DS3 will be next then I guess.

No, don't skip it. Its got a lot of problems like hitboxes, as well as some highly questionable design choices like poison spit statues, reindeer, and areas that were obviously designed to have 2 players, but I had a lot of fun with it. Do not be afraid to overlevel, you are not trying to impress anyone.

Its not like Devil May Cry where you wont enjoy it at all if you play it. Some people like it.

It really depends on why you like Dark Souls 1.

>gank squads
You mean a horde of enemies? Amazing how fighting more than one enemy filters people so hard. If you just don't rush past and aggro all the enemies in a level you'll avoid 98% of ganks either way. But this retard ADHD fanbase just wants to run to the next boss and cries like a bitch when they can't iframe through fogwalls anymore.

>pointless open world
>same three bosses repeated 9 times
>all unique bosses are no fun to fight except maybe one
>somehow worse online experience than ptde

DS3 is significantly worse than DS2
1 was the peak, it's all been downhill from there

Yeah the crafting honestly just feels like extra steps for shit I just got in the original games. Solaire just gives you a soapstone in 1, but now you must craft an expendable item to have the same thing, just as one example. I could just buy moss, now I have to make it with bullshit I have to pick up. If it were a linear game I’d have appreciated it more I think, honestly.

DS2 will always be the worst. I am willing to reconsider that statement if they drop a remastered version and use that opportunity to get rid of Soul Memory.

why do you assume you need to explore everything in the open world? it's completely fine to explore some of it and move on when you feel like you've had enough. i think the people who complain about the open world feel like they're forced to explore every inch of it

Nah. DS3 is unnecessary. That is way better than DS2

I was very underwhelmed by the difference between the two. I bought a DS2 disk for my Xbox, and already played sotfs on pc.

The item spawns being mixed up is absolutely the biggest change. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but in most base DS2 areas there was legit HALF the enemies that were in SOTFS. Almost for me, one is braindead easy, and the other is just a little too hard it’s on the side of annoying.

Like sotfs better but I definitely wished I played base first.

The most telling thing about ds2 is the fact that you can't even hit crystal lizards with 80% of the weapons
It's fucking terrible

So I’d have more shit in case I needed it of course. Lots of the best shit is tucked away. I’d need a guide if I were to run through it and get what I wanted, not big on that. A smaller game just made it less work for me imo. You don’t have to agree with me, I don’t hate the game it’s just a preference. At some point it stops feeling like a game to me and becomes work.

DS3 has some really great enemies as well as bosses. It’s arguably the easiest entrance to From Software games.
The most prominent downsides to that game in my opinion are lack of originality and linearity.
I also think that the Souls series would’ve been better off with the slower combat system of the first game. Sekiro (and probably BB, haven’t played that) did the fast paced fighting much, much better than DS3, so it was just a tad bit dissapointing to see that Elden Ring features essentially the combat system we saw in the third installment.

>buy moss
Just make a couple passes through darkroot and you should have more than enough for the rest of the game.

While Sekiro and BB did the fighting better I don't think DS3 combat is really bad. It is the evolved form of dark souls for bosses
which is the main point where it has to work

Holy contrarian. ER will be in the very top of the franchise for a long time. DS will be forgotten

Yeah I really enjoy fighting 35 enemies at the same time

>NOOOOOOO I NEED TO BECOME COMPLETELY INVINCIBLE AS LONG AS I'M MASHING ROLL
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S A DEDICATED STAT FOR IFRAMES? NOOOOO I DON'T WANT RPG MECHANICS IN MY RPG REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
is ds2 the biggest pleb filter?

SM making the game bad is a huge meme.
Its not even about "just use the ring lmao", I use this character with hexes that cost souls, and I was getting duels consistently up to 9 mil sm, and then i just got bored.
Also, 2's shitty movemnt? El oh el, its in er the characters turn like they are on a turntable, not in DS2. And you dont even need to level adp to finish the game.

>El oh el, its in er the characters turn like they are on a turntable, not in DS2.
They turn faster in DS2. What the fuck are you talking about?

>t.never played the game

>defending shit hitboxes this hard
Dishonest shitposting

oh my god teh ganks there's nothing you can do why are there even any enemies at all?

Attached: 1622335003880.webm (540x304, 2.75M)

90% of that video is retards with 0 ADP trying to spam roll through attacks and getting punished as they should

I played it way moe than I should. I have played it on release on a borrowed xbox then got all achievements there then again on pc my main platform and then SotFS and then a few dozen builds and then later with a friend marathoning the series I platinumed it again on playstation

I probably have a few hundred hours of this game more than you.

When people complain about the gank squads they don't talk about early game shit. They talk about the cancer that starts around Iron Keep
But keep shitposting

i always liked ds2 though. better than 3 for sure

>0 adp
exaclty, it's dogshit game desing
the fucking mongoloids locked normal roll behind a stat requirement and made balancing enemy attacks fucking impossible

>framedata of maelina 's waterfowl dance.webm
Talk about dishonest.

Post time if you are that great.

>a single badly designed attack vs an entire game of garbage hitboxes

Agree with all of that. Pretty much every boss after Wolnir is absolute kino in DS3, but they NEEDED to be that good to make up for how lacking the game is in nearly every other area, and even then I don't think they're good enough to make it worth R1mashing and roll spamming through the linear sequence of early game swamps and the catacombs again to get to them.
>it was just a tad bit dissapointing to see that Elden Ring features essentially the combat system we saw in the third installment.
On top of being disappointing it also removes one of the main reasons you'd have for revisiting DS3 since Elden Ring just does it better.
