the PS1 versions are superior to the PC versions in sound quality youtu.be
and the PS1 version is easier to set up a controller with, the Steam port is a bit of a pain to get a controller working
I'd recommend playing it on the latest version of Duckstation and get the Revision 1.2 ROM here: vimm.net
some tips:
>rolling lets you stop instantly (unlike running)
>run into a jump for ledges, don't stop dead underneath it to climb
>you can throw items from off-screen to the other
>sneaking into unexplored rooms is a good habit
>the mount is immune to bees
>when sprint jumping with the mount, you can get a bit further to an edge than you think, pay attention to his back legs when test jumping
