RPG reasons is just a phrase that is commonly used around the office since we don't confirm sexualities until close to the end of a game's lifecycle. For example Kassandra is canonically straight but we didn't confirm that until the later DLC's. Eivor is canonically female and straight which is why we have so many male romance options compared to female. Every character has a canon sexuality that we don't usually expose to avoid the outrage that happened when we did it with Kassandra.

The game breaks even thanks to mentally ill whales buying microtransactions and the company gets a boost to it's ESG score which lets it take out bigger loans in the next cycle. The minimum wage bluehairs literally solely exist to maximize the ESG bonus, the entire AAA industry is a balancing act to maximize the amount of "diversity" you can cram into the company while also making financially successful games.
