Tyrande going Maiev2.0 was clearly an attempt by Blizzard to return to the old-school kind of night elves, but the whole plot line just showed that 1) nu-Blizz can't get anything right 2) WC3 nightelves aren't inherently better, they were just written by a better company 3) Blizz is making the story up as they go, which meant that Tyrande's arc ended up being another redemption story instead of being remotely interesting

the night elf army (sentinels) was all-female and basically kept the peace and killed any intruders. Along with a bunch of allied forest creatures and monsters should be mentioned. They were ruled by an all-female caste of priestesses, but wasn't very strictly organized.
Most male night elves were druids that slept in barrows to maintain nature and only woke up when things really hit the fan.
There was actually also just normal civilian night elves who lived i villages and were presumably both male and female

Don't get me wrong, I understand from financial standpoint, that warcraft 4 would made 99% less money than classic wow.
But it is still a soulless act.
The only reason garbage like WoW that gets SOMEHOW worse every season is still at top:
No one else just does generic RPG world in to MMO with "Humans, Elfs, Dwarfs, Orcs, Taurens, Proficiencies etc"
I mean, Return of Reckoning is better, but is outdated and is a small community.
Korean MMOs tried to do some shit like that, but the problem is every Korean MMO with exception of TERA is literally just the same game repackaged differently. They looks the same, act the same. Just like yet another call of duty or assassins' creed game.
So the single biggest reason WoW still exist is just because it take a lot of resources to make a MMO and no one wants to commit, since general videogamers right now are mobile imbeciles that talk on forums about some LE NEW GALACTIC THREAT IN WOW!!! and SMASH WHITE PATRIARCHY and didn't even seen the story of Arthas or Illidan, since warcraft for them began only after it became MMO.
