Last one of these threads I was in multiple anons shared the realisation that Cex have moved a bunch of their shops into nearby SportsDirects, is this like a national deal they struck or summit?
Nvm I'm thinking of GAME.
Cex is the piss store.
>CEX
lol
GAME was bought by Sports Direct/House of Fraser
have cex incel
Fresh gamer girl pee smell...
>Hmmm, yeah. The best we can do is £80 but we'll sell it for £280
why do women work at cex? do they like being surrounded by fat neckbeards and lanklets all day?
>moved a bunch of their shops into nearby SportsDirects,
They sent me highly damaged 360 games. Fuck them niggers.
Cex actually do decent rates
before cex came along there were only pawn shops and they used to give absolute dogshit margins
sure its still more profitable to list it yourself on ebay or whatever, but if you just want to get rid of some tech there are many places that pay less
Sorry, I don't live in Bongland. For me, it's pic related.
>buying something secondhand without seeing it first
you did it to yourself
A heavily damaged 10 year old iPad? That'll be near RRP please.
>Know they offer piss poor trade in rates
>It's still just convenient to bring games in to knock off the cost of something else I want
>Currently eyeing up Xenoblade Chronicles HD
>Currently eyeing up the fit blonde bird behind the counter
They like the attention and being fawned over as some rare imagined gamer girl.
Heading over to Cex lads, want me to pick something up?
>yes that is right m'lady tis indeed an ikea bag full of dvd's worth 5p each, fancy a half at spoons once I've sold all my copies of friends?
5 copies of fifa 10 on the ps3 please mate
Shrek 1 & 2 Double pack DVD please, mate.
>oyyy m8 can y'z sell this fone for us blud come on blud I'll give you a fiver
For me it's the entire rack of old Fifa games
Post your local
One of the classiest Cex's I've seen
Pretty nice.
if it doesn't smell like BO and piss then it's not a proper CEX I'm afraid
got damn, that's some high class cex compared ot the tiny little shit houses im used to
>Toooo infinity! And beyond!
>Don't mess about! Turn your games and consoles into cash! At CEEEEEEEX!
Do they even attempt to refuse clearly stolen consoles and stacks of games?
Southampton?
As someone who worked at CeX years ago, we had a guy come in with 20 graphics cards, clearly stolen. We took them in no question, then quickly distributed them around the stores trying to sell them asap. Eventually the police came in trying to investigate but it was too late, the trail was too much.
tl:dr, we were encouraged\ged to take in stolen stuff
Cex is fairly notorious for scummy practises
Not sure if it was just a rumour, but when the PS5 and whatever Xbox's new thing came out, I remember hearing about a Cex that ordered its staff to purchases every new console they could so they could scalp the fuck out of them.
Yup, that's the one. It usually has some pretty good stuff inside
What was the biggest wtf find you came across in a CEX?
Once found the GC port of Skies of Arcadia I their miscellaneous old section at the back.
It was just the disc in a coverless GC case with the title written in biro for 80 fucking bong bucks.
CEX. Home.
I took a quick look through one yesterday, in the retro section they had some N64 games for almost reasonable prices but a pair of Leafgreen and Firered were listed at £60 each.
nah so long as its unlocked and sellable theyre basically pawn shops, its just stuff that's completely unsellable due to being so completely and blatantly stolen
Flogged my old gtx 1050 that all but stopped workin for like ninety quid here
do they still have a porn section?
When did CEX start selling their shit for more than first-hand game retailers?
There's a much bigger one within 30 minute's walk of this as well, I guess business must be good.
arr rook same
They know that men love CEX and prefer women.
I've never been in a CEX that didn't have some chav trying to flog a stolen phone
They've still got an adult section on the website, but I can't remember the last time I saw any porn in my local.
Beats the one they used to run at Bargate for sure.
I actually miss that one. It was the first Cex I ever went to and I got a couple of old Bionicle GBA games while I was there. It was peak comfy. Same for when they had a Forbidden Planet down on East Street and it was back when a place selling manga was some kind of incredible oddity.
Haven't been in years but I remember there being a shelf full of £2 copies of Too Human
Pretty sure I picked one up for the gamerscore at some point
I like going into one and hearing the animu music blasting through the speakers. Mike and initial D music is the most common
The only thing funnier than seeing a bunch of dirt cheap copies of Too Human or Fifa in CEX is Poundland trying to flog COD Ghosts on PS3 for £5.
Mine keeps playing vocal Yakuza songs. Wasn't expecting Machine Gun Kiss when I was looking at the 360 games.
Play them at their own game. I return everything they send me. Constant supply of free games
When working there, I started organising all the DVDs, and gave the porn section a dedicated shelf where it could be seen easily.
After two months I looked at the sales figures and the Adult sales had gone up 95%.
My proudest moment.
What kind of people buy the adult dvd's?
adults

The last time I was in one I was stuck in a queue behind someone trying to flog a stack of games with his kids, and he got turned away because he didn't bring any photo ID. Although none of the games looked like desirable ones, so maybe they only have strict ID requirements to turn away people dumping more worthless sports titles on them.
Not my local, but I go to one a lot that's next to a shop called "planet bong" Americans, please laugh
I missed when you could find deals on the prices of used video games. It was actually fun to go shopping for them because you could very well find some gems.
>that clearly completely knackered graphics card sitting in a glass cabinet close to retail price
That's the stuff
Ashamed to say I've lived in Soton for 28 years and never even bothered going to much if East Street. Was too much of a normie during my teenage years and just went to GAME or Gamestation.
