seeing as this game had many shortcomings, mainly in the character and story development, was it SERIOUSLY necessary to spend so much time and effort making your "sidekick" character a small annoying tsundere footjob dispenser, and then constantly ship the MC with her?

I need to play this game.

go with hard mode

ending was pretty meh

Atlus loves to introduce a lot of characters then doing nothing with them

SMTV was disappointing, let’s hope Soul Hackers 2 is a better game

SMT V was a solid 9/10
Story was pretty week but I really liked the level designs

SMTV had a lot of it's content cut and rushed out. She and many others would have had more in the original idea for the game. The new wolf demon that did nothing was supposed to be Nahobino's mount originally.

armpits and toes
armpits and toes
i'll make a game for my bros
full of armpits and toes
a game for every foot soldier rally around
a game for every pit fighter to find his ground
armpits and toes
armpits and toes

LITERALLY smtV in a nutshell

Yes because i want to fuck her just like i wanted to fuck pixie after nocturne, and pixie has a lot less content.

this
such a damn shame

FLYING ONAHOLE

Story faggots can eat shit. This is one of the best jrpgs ever made purely for the gameplay. Go watch a fucking movie if you want story

just bought the game and im at lv 30 or so, should i get the dlcs? are they worth it?

>spams dampeners

>can only hold so many
>can't even get the most useful ones until end game

>let’s hope Soul Hackers 2 is a better game
Zero fucking chance of that

>really liked the level designs
Whatever floats your boat user, but to me:
- All of Da'at is literally the same area but with a different colour filter
- Only TWO dungeons (school and endgame don't count), with the second one having a useless timestop mechanic not used for any puzzle solving

>school and endgame don't count
what, you didn't like the bullying subplot we totally didn't lift from persona?

The Demifiend one is pretty cool, gives you a bunch of extra bosses to fight throughout the game and a proper superboss to fight at the end
The other ones are just giving you more overpowered demons to use, if you like them go for it but otherwise I'd wait for a second run

I'll only like it when it gets a PC release, for now, IV and IV:A are still my favorites.

YES it was extremely necessary. She had to serve as the buffer/distraction so your not constantly noticing how retarded and tranny like the mc is. If anything they should have made her a bigger slut.

I can overlook dropping the ball with the story but the gameplay balance gets kind of retarded by the end too, the final dungeon has potentially two optional bosses that are harder than the final story bosses, and having to beat the superboss who's way stronger than anything else in the game to get the true ending where you again fight a weaker boss is fucking stupid.
Also the level scaling system is bad and that's never more apparent than in the last area where the curve suddenly spikes from 55 to 75 and the last bosses go up to like 90

You becoming stronger than the final boss on the True End by defeating the Super Boss is theming though. You are the new God slaying the old Devil, those are even his wishes

Also the level scaling is designed perfectly, you say the game jumps from 55 to 75 but only if you make a beeline to the bosses in the fourth area when actually the game is designed with a ton of quests including major story quests in the 60s and completing them puts you in the 70s. The game naturally progresses you level wise all the way to the end, never had to spend a single level up item except to fight the super boss at which point I had more geimoires and gosps than I could ever use.

>tfw too brainlet for demon fusion

By "level scaling" I don't mean the level curve, I mean the system where if there's a difference of more than a few levels between you and an enemy the higher level one will take much less damage and do much more damage regardless of your actual stats.
The actual level curve is pretty good thanks to how EXP works and the abundance of level-up items like you said which mitigates this a little, but it's annoying to have your team of demons on steroids from fusion bonuses invalidated because the guy you ran into has a bigger number in front of his name.

>what is reverse compendium fusion
It literally tells you every possible combination you need for any demon you have unlocked

It's worse than all the Etrian Odyssey games, which is what the director should have been working on.

Amanonahole

SMT5 had a lot of problems but amanozoku was not one of them.
She was what I wanted from Nocturne - a Pixie that talks with the MC.

>Let's hope TMS 2 is better
Why?

ehh looks fuckable but i hated apo characters who were fuckable

It looks nothing like TMS retard. You dumbasses were calling SMTV TMS2 before it came out just because its UI looked similar.

For me it's saving to compendium

>>It looks nothing like TMS retard.
>same team
>character designs look almost identical to TMS shit
>female MC again
>looks more like Persona 5 than SMT
It looks like shit, shill.

>You dumbasses were calling SMTV TMS2 before it came out just because its UI looked similar.
Well they were both bad games, guess that's what they share.

Got to the last area with Zeus and all that. Zero desire to keep playing. Why do we pretend the gameplay is good in these games?

>purely for the gameplay
Only if you're just talking specifically about the battles and that's it. The level design and navigation is dogshit

Let me guess, you got filtered by Hydra because SMTV is actually hard?

The open world is great though and the best exploration in any non-DRPG SMT. SMT3/4's corridors of nothing were fucking awful.

INDIVIDUALLY

The open world feels half-finished. And mimans are just korok seeds without the interesting puzzles

>V
>hard
It's easier than everything after the midgame of 4 during a magic run

>impalers animus
Dampenerbros...

If V's open world is half finished then 3 and 4 and nowhere near finished, their horrible excuse for "dungeons" are awful.

>let’s hope Soul Hackers 2 is a better game
user don't do this to yourself. People bring up that SH2 has the same director as Strange Journey but he also directed SH2 and if anything, SH2 looks like they let him be unchained.

>make a game similar to Nocturne
>fuck it up by having a schizophrenic sense of direction in regards to story and direction
They should have just went all in on making Nocturne 2, removed all pretense it wasn't and had it be a direct sequel to the TDE which justifies Lucifer's place in the story as the creator.
It's not like 2 didn't confirm that SMT1's neutral end is the canon choice.

So you played on easy because you got filtered, got it. Sorry that your buff-spam didn't work like it does in nocturne.

what
nocturne is extremely schizophrenic too

Wow you're easily getting attached to games aren't ya boy?

I enjoyed the music. In the battle with the werewolf guy, I'd just learned my first unique spell, a lightning one, and the music by coincidence perfectly synched with its impact. That moment was so fucking epic or carried me like another 20 hours. Gay platforming dungeon put me off, and the last thing I remember was getting my shit pushed in by Thor.

Demon Kings castle is worse than anything in 3 or 4 lol

>NEW THING GOOD

Unironically not playing the game cause of the girl MC, most of the time games with female protagonists are bad and this mindset hasn't steered me wrong so far.

No, Nocturne was pretty solid. SMT5 was all over the place and a very messy game.

Ok yaoifag

Have fun with TMS 2, user. Glad that games for people with shit taste like you are still being made.

Nocturne was very deliberate in it's design. The only thing I think is a bit weird is the Fiends but that was a post-completion addition so it can get a pass.

You misunderstand, women in the game are one thing. But them as the main playable character have been bad games more often than not.

But SMT V having a trap protagonist is fine? lol

This specific music is what I'm talking about.
I called out the attack at 0:10, the music stopped, the lightning struck at 0:12 and the music resumed.
Fucking ruled. Felt like an angry god. Murdered the shit out of that werewolf guy. I wish games were designed to make their music do this on purpose instead of it just happening to line up by accident sometimes.
