Do foam panels improve sound quality for gaming?

Or is it a meme?

you vill live in ze padded room

It's a meme. You need to have your whole room covered in thick foam panels to notice an effect.

foam panels are for absorbing acoustics so people can record music without sound bouncing around the place so much, why the fuck would you use them for gaming

everyone that doesn't use headphones should be summarily executed

Foam, eh?

Why would I want to use cuckphones at home?

>he doesn't have a sound blanket box room

NO

NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Attached: 1624644400077.jpg (692x607, 14.76K)

You would have to coat your entire walls/ceiling/floor in them to have any noticeable effect.

If you want better sound quality literally just wear headphones

>PLmD_69pXpk
I recognize that after all these years

No you don't. Quite the opposite. The main effect foam panels give is break up even surfaces that create standing waves.

It doesn't need to be completely covered at all unless you're trying to go full studio.

I'm not watching this FUCKING shit again

technically, the sound still bounces around, no matter if you're playing a game or recording something so you might want to improve the accoustics.
In reality it doesn't matter, unless your room is totally fucking empty you're already used to the accoustics of your room.

Theater kid genocide when?

just own a bookshelf or two.

Unless you're in a metal/thick stone room than no. If you don't hear reverb than it's pretty pointless.

I live in a concrete shed that used to house a generator in the 1920s

it helps more than using nothing at all if you don't want too much reverb
you go to a concert when you want to actually have the acoustics in your face

It works but not quite the same.

One of the biggest tragedies of the net is that IRL new fags (children) were never shown how repulsive furries are

Discord hasn't already given them a taste of whats to come when you associate with furries and weirdos in general?

They themselves don't really shine a light on all the retarded and fucked up shit like that video or people like Kero the Wolf

For most people yes, because they have their speakers on a shaky table or on top of something stupid, so putting them in something that can absorb the movement will make the sound reach you better, also it will provide elevation, so instead of pointing down or whatever, the sound will avoid shit people have on their tables and give you the sound without collision.
Does it matter? not much because you'll still hear shit regardless, so it just depends on your lifestyle and if you are willing/able to afford these types of things.

>red shirt is a ftm tranny now

what's funny about watching this video is that furries have outdone themselves to do things much worse than this that makes this video tamed nowadays. yeah they make weird noises and are overtly excited for buying foam but it was a childish act anyone could just ignore and move on with their lives, in fact i can take that any other day over what they do today, i hate myself for admitting it but personally the things furfags do nowadays are awkward and disturbing

Never imagined I would have ever preferred this to the insanity of today

whats sad is that the girl in the red is an easy make over and 10 pounds away from being hot af. she's already stacked
just shows how important it is to have the right friends

Can't tell if you're being serious.

If he is it would be a damn shame

As soon as I saw the OP pic, I knew someone was gonna post a link to that shit.

I don't know, but I found out finding a central room not directly connected to exterior walls helps block the neighbors annoying bass system.

>its been 13 year
NOOO

I never watched this past the 5 second mark before
It's not that bad (in current year)

After the shit that I've seen this past few years, this does nothing to me now.

Check out the acoustics of my room

No one is afraid of them

you people seem to misuse the word phobia a lot

>(2009)
this hurts.

depends on the room.

If it looks like this, your room already sounds nice. All these plastic toys and fake wood shelves are going to deflect the sound waves in so many ways you don't need sound absorbers or other deflection devices.

If it's bare walls, you should have noticed how fucking echoy it is and should buy room correcting objects.

Pretending to be a man isn't cool you TURBO FAGGOT

not true, its' very well known in acoustics even a carpet or a couch changes the acoustics of the entire room.

Shut the fuck up and read a fucking book you complete fucking braindead fucking retard.

The follow up video is pretty funny.

>yes it was cringe but I feel like death threats were a little over the top

>bring girl from date to your room
>autistic foam padding everywhere

>bring girl from date
Sounds like OP has nothing to worry about

You won't have hearing damage unless you turn the sound extremely high. My headphones never go above 50db and that's more than enough to hear everything and not damage my ears.

They're only good for dampening bass. Nothing more. Nothing less.

And they're thick as fuck too.

Rip

Holy kek the meme about polcels not going through basic science education is true.

Is a hydrophobic jacket scared of water?
Is an oleophobic coating scared of oil?

Are the hydrophobic and hydrophilic phosphate and hydrocarbon surfaces of animal cells oriented a specific way because it hurts their fee-fees and they get scared if they swap position?

You chuds need to pick up a book. QUICKLY!
