Fighters are like the patient zero for genres ruined by compfaggotry

Inb4 that guy that thinks fighting games don't need saving since you can play as long as you one other guy playing with you.

It's far too late to save fighting games

Why don't you guys go play them if you want them to survive

This.
Project L is lookin' real good.

Unfortunately a lot of fighting game players are that delusional

>tag kuso
I only hope that other devs will recognize the need for SBMM, content updates, etc. because I don't really want to play it

The only way to salvage it is to go back in time and shoot Sonicfox before he can make it big.

That's what I thought until I watched it again months later. Actual fucking dogshit.

No. But I can save Chun li, have her be my wife.

I feel like DNF Duel is trying against the odds. Seemed really fun from what I've played but I don't expect it to last long outside of Asia. There's just too big of a gap in the series' popularity between the West and East.

Capcom should be the bigger publisher here and release 1:1 sex dolls of Chun Li.

Watching all those normies play SFV in the AT&T tournament just shows how dumbing down SF didn't help at all, they all struggled and called the genre stupid and a waste of time.

They're right too, because the prize pool for that event is way higher than any SFV tournament has had in a long time. It's such a niche genre that I wonder how these big budget fighting games keep getting greenlit.

Tekken seems to be the only one that can keep a player base and that's due to being able to mash and still have fun at low levels, plus everyone remembers Tekken 3 fondly. I just wish Bandai and Harada could get their heads out of their asses and make a better game, because 7 is a joke.

Ok, but would you rather fighting games die or be a shallow husk of what makes them enjoyable?

Holy mother of cope, Cap*uck.

It just shows how shitty the matchmaking is in that game. New/weak players don't get to play together, they get lumped in with all the other bronze/rookies in a massive pool. One match you're against someone who doesn't know how to throw fireballs, the next you have someone doing full combos and pushing you into the corner. It's very inconsistent and entirely shitty.
Adding more tutorials or trying to dumb things down isn't going to help when nobody sane wants to play a game where the new player experience is having a 5% win rate

If you think SFV's matchmaking is bad don't ever try Tekken 7/Strive/Kof15 lmao

I'm aware that other games are even worse. Fighting games are just a genre cursed by shit developers who are incapable of looking at other games

DNF Duel is awful.

Just make more trans fighters and all the issues with them will be solved. Put in an easy mode too.

What E-Celeb told you that?

Myself after playing that garbage.

Just play them lol

Can't really decide whether to get it on ps4 or pc

Good, fgc needs to die so it can reborn, way too many faggots and normies now

>normies

Yes, normies pretend to like fighting games

I hate newfags so much

It doesn't need to be saved.

I think if fighting games got rid of the corner I don't think it would be such an issue for newer players.

The corner is what helps make fighting games, fighting games

there are lots of party games like smash bros and guilty gear strive you can play already

Yes, but it's also probably what makes most new players not want to learn fighting games once they get pushed to the corner.
Also from a spectator perspective it probably gets boring for most when most of the game takes place on one side of the screen.

ur a newfag 2009er

They have to learn there is a reason why they are in a corner and getting shitted on. They need to learn to git gud, dumbing shit down will never work

That's probably why smash bros and even GGST sold so well.

selling out to smashers for 500k
drysuke's vision

595862759
lol

But they're not going to learn that. Guilty gear probably did it best with how it's corner is used and I bet more fighting games in the future will adopt this corner breaking system.

One very popular 35 year old IP vs a game that despite being made for a long time only found its strive with the most recent release.

One successful game vs one flopped game

Post the Xrd sales. You’re delusional if you think Guilty Gear was ever as big as SF.

a 7 years old game with the worst launch in fg history vs a 1 year old game with most shilled launch in fg history

Yes st was a success and despite how poorly sfv was received (deserved by the way) it grew into a game that people now enjoy playing.

GGX2 was big in arcades in the early 2000s.
>implying GG doesn't rely on its legacy too

SFV is in its final season with a new patch. Obviously lots of people will be playing.
Strive also just released their new character and announced their season two plans.

I would like to see more stats. Like counters that track successes for tick throws, crush counters, frame traps, delay tech, wakeup DP, etc. It would show why exactly a player lost as well as introduce newer players to the techniques that were the reason they got eternally combod to death. Right now I take my own notes on matches I play but I don't see why the software shouldn't include such stats.

Yes gg relied on its legacy for xrd. I think after that Arcsys relied on its recent successes with DragonBall and Granblue to hype up their new GG.

>GGX2 was big in arcades in the early 2000s.
Sure but games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat are household names that everybody knows about even if they don’t play fighting games. Guilty Gear does not have the same recognition as those other IPs and the sales of the games proves it.

It is
with one simple trick

of course they could easily include such stats, in fact many games give these kind of rundowns after every match
but fighting games don't because fighting game developers are insular retards who will only add features after much protesting and they have a community who will just tell you to get good and watch your replays instead

>tag fighter
Yeah, I can't wait for people to learn the day two TOD combos. Super fun.

functional matchmaking?

Attached: 20220213_173703.jpg (1485x2048, 277.07K)

The one good thing about shitty games like the leeg fighter is that retards will try to pick meta and will just end up failing be cause they can't do the shit required

>wanting to save fighting games
>paying for frame data
>paying for alternate colors
>paying for stages
>paying for the game again in characters/passes

this the only right answer and fighting game devs and players will just keep denying it, saying that it's impossible due to the low population or whatever other excuses

I doubt the devs behind the game will allow that to exist. It will probably have Skullgirls infinite prevention system.
